One of Dwight's best songs. Can listen to it over and over. Perfect song, perfect story, perfect performer. Dwight's a legend in his time - just as his heroes are or were. Thanks for the video.
i'm out there playing tunes ,some rock, blues, bluegrass,go to town on the guitar but i love to play and sing a simple laidback country song.there's magic in these tunes, this tune is a great one!!
I LOVE this song! It perfectly describes how a person that loves someone with every fiber of their being and really is at the others mercy. To love this deeply one can only hope they can get the love close to it in return. This love is what everyone seeks and dreams of experiencing but in honesty most would profess falling short of having it.
You got lots of Dwight performances. Can't wait to check them all out. This one is possibly my favorite song of his. Such a treat to see him do it live. Thanks for sharing all these.
The song was originally in E and if you listen at the end his voice sounds slow and drawled im thinking this video is out of pitch and running slow which makes it sound half a step or so flat. Im missing the steel guitar the steel solo is one of the best ever and made this song the best.
In the mid 90’s Dwight’s band tuned to Eb for live performances. I vaguely remember Pete Anderson saying somewhere that Dwight did it because Buck and the Buckaroos tuned to Eb in the 60’s, but I could be wrong on that one. The entire Dwight Live album is in Eb as well.
I think Dwight yokum is the most underrated of all I love him
Not only one of the best natural voices in country music but he can act
Love Scott Joss on that fiddle and backgrounds. So beautiful!!!

@@_thesunsetters_ Correct. We did it to save DY's voice while doing long tours of one nighters. And yeah, Buck did it back in the day.
