On befriending corvids: Now that they aware that you are feeding them, I would suggest opening up “communication”. I do this by whistling a distinctive whistle. Every time I take compost out to the pile, I do my whistle. It only took a week or so for them to associate the whistle with the food. I’ll whistle from the kitchen window and by the time I get to the compost pile, I have a crew waiting for me. Now they will come to the back porch or wherever it is I am whistling. A VERY cool party trick. Summoning a murder of crows with a whistle is undeniably bad-ass. Let me know if you employ this and if it works.

Other than the bicycle bell I mentioned above, any sound that caries will do, a football whistle, even knocking 2 blocks of wood together or tapping the side of a stainless steel of ceramic bowl with your key. They soon learn you’re a friend especially if you feed them at the same time and place every day. Don’t forget that they also like water, especially in the summer and will drink, dunk their food or even bathe in it if the bowl is large enough.

As a kid, I had one of those old multi tier bamboo cages. I learned that only a metal cage would hold my budgie though. In fact later in life I learned what large parrots could do to solid wood(only woods that are parrot friendly)… and flesh a few times…. I also learnt the metals and woods that were okay for birds. It gets complicated. You look out the window and see birds of all kinds sitting on chain link fence and nesting in those trees and it’s frustrating. I could buy a $15 wood chew toy that’s on a solid chain and it could be gone in an hours time. They shred those toys so quick. They are so smart. I had one that I would open her cage and take her out and over to the trash can and say bombs away, and she would go to the bathroom. She would also get our dogs rilled up if it got to quiet in the house. She would throw pieces of her food out to get them to jump off the couch and run over. I don’t know how many times I would be in a separate room and hear my wife saying stuff to me or calling me, only to be answering the bird… she had a great vocabulary.

It really is - last year I was cutting some thin mitered pieces, and one of the offcuts got sent like a rocket. It ended up piercing a hole directly through a nearby drywall and landed in the adjacent room.
It's also why, incidentally, it still boggles my mind that for all of Adam's tools and resources, he still insists on using that ancient powermatic saw that doesn't even have a g*damn riving knife.
And he HAS to know how much sh*t he gets for it - practically every video he puts out with the table saw, there will always be people pointing it out. It's just bonkers to me, especially for someone as safety aware as he seems to be.

I am fascinated by the intelligence and behavior of crows and ravens . I liken them to BOrder Collies. .l can hardly wait to see Adam's completed structure and how Mark makes use of it⁹.

Liked the safety tips on the tablesaw. I thought cutting of the first pieces seemed a bit rushed, and even cavalier, but I believe you when you say you were concentrating.
Not as sure about using the big router on its side, though. Clamping the piece with a flush backing piece for stability in your big woodworking vice might have been better.

I have been feeding my neighborhood crows (and every other backyard bird) for, I don't know, 5 years or more. Unsalted peanuts in the shell for the crows and jays. I have yet to be gifted with anything back :( Though, I am convinced that they recognize my car. They do caw at the house when the lights turn on in the morning, and they show up before dinner time. No gifts in return, except for the chance to interact with and observe them up close. It's still pretty amazing.

Does modern video resolution play into your stage production technique, or do you have to adjust?
