      Maybe the Communication Tower on top is a "Whistle Blower" Array. These were added to starbases near the Romulan and Klingon Neutral Zones if either of these powers started a war a starbase could send a high-powered subspace transmission warning the entire federation. This one could be used to signal a warning in the event of a Borg Invasion.

    The Experience also had a mock up of Quarks and the DS9 corridor, although much smaller a corridor than the show one.

    RIP the Star Trek Experience. I was fortunate enough to visit it twice and got to go on both the Borg and Klingon rides. The place even had good food.

      Snort. Funny story my sister had the Quark actor, or was it just a Ferenagi actor, flirting with her during one time at Quarks, and she said if he did it again when we went back a few years later she would punch him. Thankfully that was around the time they were starting to wind down therefore no Quark actor.

    I love the design of Copernicus Station. I got to go to Las Vegas for Star Trek The Experience and it was amazing, it was so sad to see them close down.

  • @Jeremy-83
    @Jeremy-83 2 месяца назад +4

    I was lucky enough to go to vegas before this closed. While I enjoyed the 4D ride, the Enterprise ride was superior.
    I feel like the Experience closed because it put all its eggs in one basket. More focus needed to be put into showcasing all the memorabilia and environment. There was several times where the immersion was broken. I feel like the Quarks Bar would have been a perfect opportunity to have themed food made to look alien as well as regular food. The most entertaining actor by far was the Ferengi that took our order. He was very into the role and never broke character.

    • @robertdrexel2043
      @robertdrexel2043 2 месяца назад

      I believe they tried their best on making the food look alien, at least when I went there a few times, but yeah, outside of the Star Trek themed names they were just regular-old food you could have gotten from the other restaurants at the casino. Shrug.

    The Klingon encounter was better though because you got to visit the mockup of the Enterprise D and bridge.

      Meh. While it was nice to be on the bridge of the Enterprise, I do admit, I think the Borg Encounter was a bit more fun with Borg Drones chasing after you.

    That's quite interesting, because in Captain Kirk's Era, he hadn't to deal with the Borg, and I just wonder what Star Trek( Captain Kirk's Era) would've been like if he had to deal with the Borg!

    I loved the star trek experience. My dad, who was in his early 60s at the time and never rode amusement rides, even the Borg 4D experience and had a great time. It would be great if a new location could be established for these attractions and add even more too it. There is so much history spanning mediums and fans spanning generations.

    Yeah, those were the days! I actually was at the front of a group once therefore I got an eyeful of the first Borg Drone. I was both scared out of my mind and quite impressed with everything going on. While the Klingon Encounter had that whole Time Travel Story and the Mock Up of the Enterprise-D Bridge, I think the Borg Encounter was the one that was the must fun of the two rides. Shame they were taken down. I would have gone to them repeatedly when I moved to Vegas. Sigh.

    Being from Las Vegas, I went to Star Trek The Experience A LOT but I did the Borg 4D Invasion only once as you could only really ride that one once and not as many times as you could like with The Klingon Encounter before they added Borg 4D. I didn't like it as much as I did with the Klingon Encounter ride which in MY opinion was more enjoyable. I mean yeah it was cool to see Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo as well as Alice Krige but to me the ride just wasn't that enjoyable as the other one. Again that's just MY opinion.
    It would be cool to see this station in a future Trek show.

    @TrekCentral, Here's a recommendation for a ship that it appears no one has made a high quality video on - The USS Incursion from the PC game Star Trek: Away Team. I think your team would do a terrific job on that topic.

    It is a cool design, which I was unfamiliar with because I never had an opportunity to visit “Star Trek: The Experience” - which I regret. I’d love to see it canonized in live action. However, I suspect it’s unlikely do to licensing issues that would doubtlessly arise. But stranger things have occurred.

    I didn't realize I went so close to the end. It was my 2nd spring break in college so it would have been 2008. It was my first stop in Vegas. I got a model/toy of the Enterprise E that still sits on the shelf next to my desk.

    I like the station design, it seems very modular and upgradable. It's not too small but it's not as ponderously huge as the giant starbases that can fit multiple large starships inside of them. Honestly I would assume that this is the "default" Starfleet space station, each one a little different due to the modularity but overall most of them should look like this. Only a few of them would be as massive as Starbase 1.

    I'm so sad that i had never a chance too visist this Atraction before
    it closed in a wonderfull Farewell Party.
    The Idea for a interactive Star Trek expirience was genius and realy great realized.
    .
    The Desing of the Copernicus Station is absolut typical John Eaves.
    Many curves ans hard lines.
    It looks very cool.
    .
    But it was in Lore a too high risk to install a whole Spacestation
    so near at Borg Space.
    It must end catastrophical.
    .
    Sad too is that this Story and the Station never find a way in the official canon.
    Its very good. ^^

    The problem with the Star Trek "universe" is that they really missed out on a far more realistic (and scientifically plausible) ship design with the abandonment of the XCV-300 configuration, which was an approach to the symmetrical - field Alcubierre configuration. There's just too much pseudo-science and outright fantasy to make the series enjoyable, especially in view of what we know (and reasonably predict). Whilst I understand that in the early days modelmaking was a little more simplistic, in today's era they could do a LOT more to build credible ships - an Alcubierre stardrive, with relativistic ion engines for sub-light (an extension of a proven, known technology), with rotating crew modules to create a far more realistic artificial gravity scenario. Possibly even external habitat domes to provide accommodation for plant life (provided with artificial illumination) - to manage the oxygen demand? A combination of the XCV-300 base design, with elements of the Valley Forge (Silent Running), and the Leonov in 2010? With today's access to micro LED and optical fibre technology (along with miniature drive motors and reliable slip-ring systems), such a construct would be entirely feasible, on a small budget too.

    Building a station on the border of the Delta Quadrant, near Borg space, without a half dozen Defiant Class ships and a large, very fast, evacuation ship seem rather dumb.

  • @TheRealBigfeet
    @TheRealBigfeet 2 месяца назад

    I may be wrong, but surely there must now be enough talent in the world, to build a Star Trek theme world, with original series and next generation, as well as Voyager and DS9, that doesn’t even cover the new ones like the three movies with Chris pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin and all the others, also New Worlds, Discovery, and Picard etc, surely to goodness with all the talented model makers and set designers these could be recreated and full size replicas of these ships could be built for people to stay in quarters etc and come and live the Star Trek life as often as they can afford. I know it’s a pipe dream building a full size Galaxy class starship with all those quarters and mess halls, and you’d need proper kitchens since replicators don’t exist (yet) and warp cores aren’t available for the huge amounts of power needed to make the tech work but hey we have I pads etc to put in to cases and has anyone noticed how close the Z flip3 to 5 is to a tri corder (just saying)
    We’re getting closer to trek universe every day.
