When the Titan scans the Shrike, it identifies it as multiple ships from multiple factions. I think it is made from parts from multiple ships and that actually is a Galaxy class deflector dish and secondary hull.
Honestly makes sense, at one point in the war the Dominion wanted to pull back to the border and rebuild its forces so creating a whole new ship design to better deal with Federation Alliance ships even if it takes a few years is right up the Dominions alley, The Dominion thinks years ahead and the Shrike could have easily been in development during the war.
Maybe the Shrike was a Top Secret Prototype ship that the Dominion was in the process of constructing that combined the Technologies of their allies, but never finished and the Prototype was just sitting there at the Top Secret Dominion Shipyard that was building this thing and Vadek being a Founder had previ. to this knowledge of this Top Secret Shipyard and went to call upon this deadly ship.
I always felt the Shrike was Reman in its design elements. Has a similar spread wing appearance to the Scimitar and would have been psychologically damaging to Picard for not only his unwilling role the incident with Shinzon but also the loss of Romulus and Remus when their sun went supernova. Rikers line about the Shrike being a guillotine mirrors Picards line about the Scimitar being a predator ad well. Meanwhile the inclusion of Dominion displays and weapons of the Dominion allies still fits the fact that the technology was procured via Dominion allies.
Got a theoretical idea for a video, Shrike Vs Scimitar. Both antagonist ships had the protagonists where they could have blown them away but didn't. These ships are superior to the Sovereign or Neo Constitution. What if these ships went head to head. Both ships not holding punches and full on everything they have trying to destroy each other. Who would more than likely be the victor on a level, open space no advantage playing field. Advantage not present being e.g. planets, asteroids, interfering ships to be thrown around. Just like two ships on the line battling it out to final victory.
Did you not pay attention to the fact that these Changeling are now different due to experimentation? It is mentioned quite often, so not sure how you missed it.
There was a Romulan fighter in the PS2 game "Star Trek: Shattered Universe" which featured a similar 4 wing forward prong design as seen on the Shrike in Picard. Funny enough, this fighter was also named "Shrike"
There's an error in this. Part of the experiments on the Changelings included nanites acquired from Picard body (also at Daystrum). This is how they escaped, with the help of the Borg queen. It's also what gave her power over them. That's the point of using the hand to communicate.

Well by the 25th century, the Dominion's stance on the federation is a tentative truce with Odo pushing them more towards a peaceful defensive form of xenophobia as opposed to their previous aggressive stance. The Dominion is still the Dominion, but they have more of a you keep to your side of the fence, I'll stay on mine approach to everyone around them. Which means Vadic would of been welcomed back with open arms but wouldn't of seen any open support by the Dominion, so Vadic wouldn't of found allies there, as was said in the video, it would of caused a schism, on one side you'd have Odo's faction and in the other Vadic's faction and since Changelings NEVER harm other Changelings and the Dominion slave races are loyal to only the Founders; Vadic would of found little more than a few other Changlings support and the approval to do as they wished by the Founders but no actual military support from the Founders. So instead Vadic stayed in the Alpha Quadrant and sort out a ship which was likely secretly built by the Dominion near the end of the war using parts and components cobbled together from allies and salvaged ships as likely a last bid attempt to win the war when they were cut off from the Gamma Quadrant; The Shrike fits that MO, a secret war winning super weapon that was never deployed in time due to the sudden unexpected Cardassian rebellion. It was likely constructed by the Son'a and the Breen.
Considering the devious (and somewhat immoral) schemes that Section 31 has pulled in the past, I think it entirely possible that the Shrike may have been a top secret experimental vessel that the Federation's supers-pies created. With technology and parts harvested from alien wreckage from the Dominion war and adapted into a ship that no one would ever mistake for a Starfleet vessel. This would likely have required Section 31 to find Dominion defectors to help design and build the Shrike. The prison breaking shape-shifters may have commandeered the Shrike in their escape.

I have noticed that tv series seasons are only half as long as the seasons of Next generation and voyager. Are they too lazy to do 20 plus episodes a season now?
I hate it when the concepts that were left on the drawing table are miles better than the final product. especially when the design is fictional and doesn't really have to take real world life constraints into consideration.
Again bad writing, The shrike was worthy of taking on two or more SF cruisers easily yet hardly does anything. The tired trope of SF ships being near useless and out gunned and using some sort of spacial mechanic to destroy, damage or escape the big bad.
That is basically writing. Set the protagonist on a weaker footing than the antagonist, and let them think their way out of the situation. If the protagonist is is the stronger of the two, the conflict is reduced.

There is no real excuse, there is a myriad of plants to mine for resources, the ship yards to build them and robotic construction methods as well. What I want to see is a solid battle one where manuvering and a competent Captian uses the ship to win, not a always a crushing defeat but one where you feel the danger and the success of good decisions and tactical thinking.

Looks like a mix of Vorlon and Shadow vessel from Babylon 5
The ship reminds me of some ships on Babylon 5; Vorlan, or Shadow.
It’s breen right
It's the Star Trek version of a Shadow vessel.
Shrike vs. Scimitar.
The design of the Shrike reminds me of a Shivan warship from "Freespace" and "Freespace 2," especially those proposed drawings of it.
I have noticed that tv series seasons are only half as long as the seasons of Next generation and voyager. Are they too lazy to do 20 plus episodes a season now?
That would cost double then 😅😂

love the ship
I think the adjective you might be looking for that prototype Shrike is "Vorlon".
Looks Vorlon...
I hate it when the concepts that were left on the drawing table are miles better than the final product. especially when the design is fictional and doesn't really have to take real world life constraints into consideration.
If that anomoly they fell into followed them around... Id be afraid
Couldn't Star fleet capture the Shrike?
man i hope fanhome is making a model of this ship yes fanhome not eaglemoss
The ship killer ...... Was killed!!
I really hate commercials
They should have taken over it then using it making it a new starfleet ship thr new s4?
The series/season that started great, then fizzled out
Only to you and a handful of gripers.
What, the Riker manoeuvre, cmon give it its due it kicks the shizzle out of the Picard manoeuvre.....😅
@@gmradio2436 But they keep doing it over and over and it is really old.
@@ChristopherSloane Romulan Warbird from TOS, The Reliant from Wrath of Kahn, The Breen and Dominion, The Defiant, The Scimitar, The Nerada, and the Shrike. Did I miss any?
@@gmradio2436 Right? It just seems stupid that the UFP or star Fleet which is supposed to be technologically superior in many ways but of course not perfect seems to fail at making decent ships. They know conflict is consistent yet fail to design a ship that is superior or cutting edge to engage said threats. There is no real excuse, there is a myriad of plants to mine for resources, the ship yards to build them and robotic construction methods as well. Not to mention brilliant minds abound with various technologies.
What I want to see is a solid battle one where manuvering and a competent Captian uses the ship to win, not a always a crushing defeat but one where you feel the danger and the success of good decisions and tactical thinking.
Still, give me the Scimitar any day
You know you’ve made it as a channel when you shamelessly plug raid ads
How dare you warn me that there may be spoilers! I demand a refund!!! :P
