I actually appreciate this kind of story. The ones where humans are feared, not because we've collectively reached the next stage of evolution to be ten times stronger and unkillable murder machines, but we're just the only ones insane enough to look at the impossible and say "oh cool, it defies logic/physics" and carry on about our day
We ask "what's the worst that could happen" then the universe laughs, then we laugh with it, and THAT is why we are so crazy, we dare the universe to try.
This may explain why tourists at Yellowstone National Park keep trying to pet the buffalo and take selfies with the grizzly bears. Batsh*t Crazy - it's not a glitch, it's a feature!
"I bet that could be friend shaped with enough patience and treats" this writer gets it, "if not friend, WHY FRIEND SHAPED!?" and "if not friend shaped, why not try and make friend shaped?" love this story.
Assuming “civilian armor” relatively similar to what we have nowadays that’s fucking terrifying. That’s somewhere between 20 layers+ of Kevlar and a quarter inch of steel, and that’s before we start talking about composites.
I imagine training later like, Predator Kiddo: Muuurff? (Criminal leg in mouth) Human: No need to bite all the way through, he's dropped all his weapons hasn't he? Criminal: I HAVE I HAVE! Predator Kiddo: (compress) Criminal: Aaah OK OK! (Drops spare blaster) Human: Oookay you can play with him until the others arrive. Predator Kiddo: MAHH! (LEAP)
I really like these types of stories. They make me laugh at us silly humans and aliens. I share them with others to show them that SiFi stories can be funny and not all about doom and gloom. Great story! Post more!
Puurfect! Love the story! As far as the "What's the worse that can happen?" and the universe delivers? Been there, barely survived that. (Quite a few times, actually.)
As someone that deals with animals that most people say hell no and hit the nope button to get away as far as possible from, yes this is humans. Anything with remote chance of some form of sentient ability we go hey i bet if i treat it well enough, care for it, and give it snacks itll be a friend. Ive picked up random snakes people ran from having learned about snakes from a breeder that lived down the road from me when i was a child. My neighbors were fishermen who often ended up catching turtles and gave me them to take to the canal. I live in africa now and locals run from a gecko thinking they are dangerous while i catch them and hold them as they freak out about it needing to be killed. So yeah anything with a remote intelligence to identify someone as friend, well definably become a friend shaped thing.
In all honesty, any large or largish dog can be dangerous. It can hurt kids even without meaning to just be contact while moving, and if it really wants to hurt? Cats are the worst, you never know when they will decide to signal no more petting by scratching. Intelligent predators - well at least you can reason with them... Good story :)
of course one also have to take into account if its a predator pet that hade a 'rough' growing up itself or not as in general if its 'healthy' and a normal mental state most of them are naturally gentle with the big ones cubs , and even when saying ''no fk this i am no nanny!'' restrains themselfs , classic is for example big dogs calling for the owner as the kid is bothering or worse , and a cat giving sharp glares but responds to the tail pulling by secluding itself on the top shelf , or requesting to go out aka showing the fellow 'adults of the pack' where their personal space boundaries goes ,though its true there are the horror stories to where unknown trauma in cats or dogs upbringing or impossible to see beforehand genetic/hormon psychosis shows up causing them to react far stronger then is needed :/ just wish more people that not where pet owners themselfs where intelligent enough to reflect a moment just as with other humans reactions having a spectrum of ''expected from average individual'' to '' x cognitive disability or physical one ,will act out far stronger , cant do x or y '', same goes for all intelligent pets , specially the ones with self awereness aka most of them after all few people have slime mold as a 'pet' XD
Cats usually get bitey and clawey when they are played with rough when they are younger (not violently). Making a cat tell you to 'stop' by making them claw or bite your hand makes them think that's the only way to get anyone to stop. Cats handled gently and allowed to leave when they want will reduce their need/want to use biting and clawing to get their point across. In stressful times they will resort to biting and clawing, like when they are scared or in pain, but normal contact should be less bite and more butt hole showing as they walk away if they want to leave. XD

Another really fun story, very entertaining indeed 🤣 you guys are coming up with some very imaginative tuff and I love a lot of your descriptive metaphors too
I mean given that with any generation one's number of descendants can double and a generation is ~25 years, it only takes 500 years to surpass 1 million
Asking "what could possibly happen" ("or go wrong") is like staff saying "Its Quiete" in supermarkets or in emergency services! It's just asking for trouble!
OMGosh I LOVE YOUR SILLY, FUNNY STORIES ON YOUR CHANNEL, other channels are good stories but I LOVE YOUR TONGUE IN CHEEK ATTITUDE KEEEP 'EM COMING PLEASE HEY THERE'S NO BLORP IN THIS ONE
THIS is what I come for. Not a story of humans being the most dangerous. No. Humans are Kindy whimpy even on earth. But a story where something humans consider normal, but is kinda weird when on earth, being seen as weird by galactic standards mixed with a certain level of crazy, stupid, or both Less master chief more united federation of hold my beer

We're the only ones insane enough to look at a predator and go 'Cute! I want to pet it!' How we domesticated cats and dogs
Cats domesticated themselves and made humans their servants.
We ask "what's the worst that could happen" then the universe laughs, then we laugh with it, and THAT is why we are so crazy, we dare the universe to try.

A feature, hay it's basically a life style for me.
Lol na that's called uneducated bruv😂 all good though that's what the Darwin awards are for.
😂😂😂
Bethesda be like
Humans try to domesticate every animal that doesn't try to eat or kill them . And even try harder with the latter .
I’m sorry, but the way the species was described sounds absolutely adorable to me. A Velociraptor crossed with a tiger/boarder collie? Adorable.
Would pet/hug/play with - the living hell out of them!
Sounds friend-shaped
"I bet that could be friend shaped with enough patience and treats"
this writer gets it, "if not friend, WHY FRIEND SHAPED!?"
and "if not friend shaped, why not try and make friend shaped?"
love this story.
7:24 " _they can only bite through civilian grade armor at this age_ " Very reassuring.

I did a huge amount of baby sitting in my youth. NEVER ask " What's the worse that could happen? " Because the universe hears, and SNICKERS!
Oh no! you said the magic words: "what is the worst that can happen?" Do not challenge the universe like that!
Mean while the universe: I said long ago "what is the worst that can happen? Then humans happened.

Right?!
I love this vision of humanity's role in a multi-species interstellar community. ❤
Ok, they are deadly, but ... now hear me out, babies 🎉😊

Yeah! We are insane! We will care for any predator!
True.
@ America though is insane! We elect ours and trust them to protect us!

as a kevin, we do climb random shit often.

He stood up and held onto her forehead most of the time in the middle of town.
Delightful, informative and fun!
BatSh*t crazy is what made us. It ain't dangerous, it's just playful and needs direction. No Problemo.
"Hold my beer" should be a human code word.
Constrictive playtime.
Perfect story to listen to as I sit with our Pitskies.
Sitting here listening to this while playing some No Man's Sky - it fit all too well.
9:39 ..he said it.. oh boy!

Well done. The best of these scifi stories I've heard so far.

What's the worst that could happen 🤔? Oh dear me 😂.
That foolish human just had to open there mouth and say "those" words
