- Jonathan Marchessault led the way on offence with two goals and an assist and Adin Hill dominated in net with 29 saves as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-2 to snap their seven-game winning streak.

Yes, Vegas ended the Leafs winning streak tonight which yes happens to be a Canadian team! I was replying to the individual that posted this comment. The Leafs beat Vegas last Thursday 7-3 which EXTENDED THE LEAFS WINNING STREAK AT THE TIME!! I was simply replying to the post because Vegas didn't end the Leafs streak last week! The Leafs defense was horrendous tonight. Sure, they had a 7 game win streak, but that doesn't excuse the nonstop giveaways. Samsonov will get blamed, as usual, but also as usual, he wasn't the problem.

Can someone tell 44 he's a defenseman, not forward? Stop cheating for goals and do his job properly. There is no secret why Leafs won so many games without him. They play solid D without him in the line up and none of the guys try to cheat for goals. He kept floating to the blue line and left his partner, the forwards and goalie scrambling to cover for his D spot.

Nylander fails to clear the puck out of their end. Then stands there . Slowly comes back at a snails pace. I guess he doesn't to use any energy in his own end. Vegas has enough time to take multiple shots at the goal. Nylander selfish bum. Well a rich bum. lol. Toronto won't get past first round.

The leafs lost too many “battle” for the puck on the boards. Nylander’s was just one of many. His bystanding approach is something he’s used for years. A very rich bystander. Why get involved?

How many times have I had to say it? Nylander doesn't back check or play defense. If he loses the puck and the opponent is on his way towards the Leafs zone, he'll either slowly work his way to the Leafs blue line but no further or he just leaves the ice completely.

We have one of the best forwards (Matthews ) along with Marner and Nylander the problem here is that our defense is weak so I am not blaming Samsonov for the lost. But as a proud leafs fan that I am You can't win them all but I can assure you that the leafs will be in the playoffs this season.

@GloryHole6000 He played poorly at the start of the season, which everybody is aware of. Jones stepped in and did well but as of late, Sammy has been the superior goalie of those 2. Both goalies have been allowing too many goals but when your PP d consists of guys like Nylander, odds are the other team is going to score. When the defense does its job then the Leafs allow far less goals but when the coach doesn't know how run his lines, it's going to be an issue. Just think of how many goals Brodie and Nylander have been responsible for against, with tip ins, out of position, screening, being lazy and/or, skating off the ice while the opposition has the puck in the Leafs end. If Woll comes back and is what he was before getting hurt, I'd put Woll in, but between Sammy and Jones, right now, Sammy is the better goalie.

If this is how the leafs are going into the playoffs , they will not win. I have been watching my team. rangers. leafs highlights. habs highlights. The defensive zone checking and neutralization of the opposite offensive forwards is not so good. Vegas really took it to them. 2 goals were really soft. the 3 and 4 th goal were massive . Like 2 forward to 3-4 defensive guys and the goalie seems sleeping (samsonov) and the defense doesnt put the foot down to box them out. Like what?? Vegas plays agressive forechecking they got the 2-3 goal by doing so. And then they keep doing it. Bad coaching for the leafs. They should know this by now. Anyways. I am right. Leafs make it to the second round once again. Enjoy the short pre season guys. And get your blue jay tickets already. Go rangers!
