Cattle will scratch and pull out their numbers sometimes. They rub up against fences and trees and knock the numbers out unfortunately. I need to replace those numbers next time I run them through the working pens
well...I sure hope nobody is living in tents....not when you can buy a decent used camper and live in it. At these temps...it's time to seek shelter with family v/s a tent and wait for warmer weather to rebuild
yep....Bud is 2 years old...takes about 24-28 months to raise out a grass fed steer for butcher....I could look back at my records, but I believe it's 24 months
@StoneyRidgeFarmer So he is almost ready to go become stake, going to be hard to let him go. By the way thank you for making thies videos, I didn't realize how much I enjoy watching cows...brings me pice of mind and really makes me want to buy a farm.
I wish I could be there for about one week to help out. For FREE !! Too bad I’m kinda busted out. Bad shoulder, bad hip, bad knee. Plus in 76 years old physically but like 35 in my mind. Working with you would be like going to “college” Oh well, I’ll keep on watching you on RUclips and make believe I’m there 😂 Willy D
we are on speaking terms.....but it's a very hurtful part of my life, as you can imagine. I didn't ask for what I got from her....it was wrong and she did me wrong. We didn't always get along the best, but what went on between us has been the most horrible and disappointing experience in my life. Let's not talk about it anymore if possible. I'm not sure what happened with her, but I let her come back into my life 15 times...only to be crushed over and over again. Love makes us do stupid things...and I wish I could get back the woman I dated and married v/s what I've seen. Sad situation my friend
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I was awake early this morning thinking about what I ask. I am a lot older than you at 72 now. When I was 20 years old, I met a girl in Myrtle Beach and fell in love with her. We were engaged but after a year, that fell apart. She was from Winston-Salem, your neck of the woods. When I first heard the voice of your X, I thought I was listening to my Karen. I had to laugh but then become sad. Karen passed a few years ago. Although we did not keep close touch over the years, I still at times thought about her. Their voices and accent of the area were so close. Take care Josh, I know what it is all about.
lol....man, honestly this weather is not typical for us at all....next week it will be nearly 60 degrees! I'm glad we're getting some colder weather to be honest, but it's not typical. This is the first year we've gotten significant snow in almost 7 years! Since 2017 I think! However...best laid plans right lol
yeppers....however I don't typically burn plastics, my neighbors burn enough for all of us! I have a local neighbor that burns the insulation off scrap wire all the time...it's horrible!
How come not all the big girls have numbers in their ears like sweetie for instance?

Hey Josh thank you for the live stream I caught the replay and I enjoyed it and you stay warm and stay safe and stay vigilant out there woo
thanks Scott!
🥰 Aww❤ I pray 🙏 for the people freezing 🥶 in tents in NC, Tennessee and Appalachians. I hope this crisis is resolved within a few days 🙏❤️🇺🇸

Your cows are incredibly beautiful.
I enjoy the authenticity of your live streams!
thank you!
Hello Josh,Edward from Vermont
Hmmm, I bet it’s a raccoon. Your herd looks so good & healthy.
Beautiful calf ...great conformation
Hey Josh do cows eat more in cold weather ? Thank you. Craig. Pa.
I'd say they tend to eat a little less to be honest...great question
Do donkeys need to be shod regularly like horses or do they wear their hooves down naturally?
Donnie's been busy!
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!
Why don't you set your bales on small logs to keep the hay off the ground like Greg Judy?
One day I might
Well I guess I should have waited until after you collected them all to guess!
How old is Bud? And how long do you plan on keeping him?
Bud is about 24 months
?

I guess the third calf was the crazy one (Spass)!!!
yeppers...spaz is about 3 months old now...she's nuts!!
Do you have a regular day job? If so what is it?
this is what I do my friend....content creation and run/build the farm
@StoneyRidgeFarmer That's what I assumed but wanted to verify and give you a question for content

Do you ever talk to the former Miss Stoney Ridge Josh?
