Showing one of my favorite Swiss knives, the Outrider. Enjoy :]
Wholly. Man you be losing some weight buster. Are we gonna see some sword cutting action anytime soon? Some newly developed skills perhaps?
Thanks, bro! Perhaps when the snow melts, I'll be able to move around better when the ice and slush aren't trying to off me :D
@@WeAllJuggleKnives right on. I got a cold steel Thai machete and when ppl see it, they kinda don’t get it. I always show them that video of yours with the black mask cutting stuff w it. And they’re always super impressed. And then they want one too lol Keep on keepin on bro
Must be a very old version. The Victorinox Outrider (0.8513) does not have that ugly button on the side
Two of the greatest assets to the outrider is firstly how good it feels in the hand, not too big not too small, perfect. Secondly using the corkscrew wound into a stick say 3/4”-1” by a length of your choosing, you can extend your cutting height for out of reach tree branches with the saw or deploy the locking blade and you have a spear /harpoon.
That's a good trick, I'll try that!
I recently picked one up in New Zealand. Mine has the same lock as the One-Handed Trekker/Soldier
Great score, glad they have them there!
bought one of these today, already have the larger ranger grip 79 and a couple smaller ones. this will be my first 111mm victorinox and will be living in my EDC pouch. the ranger grip 79 will most likely remain my go to for the outdoors but I can see the outrider getting a lot of use at home for various tasks
Awesome, great and useful array of options you have now.
great video i recently got this model i really like the scissors because when im fishing its more convenient and safer for snipping line etc than deploying the big blade.
For me, the outrider represents the utilitarian version of the swisschamp--all of the features I want, and none of the fluff. The moment they release a one-hand opening knife version (so long as it isn't a combo blade) I will buy one.
Schönes und unterhaltsames Review! THX!
Your videos are still so awesome!!
Thanks, bro!
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I seriously appreciate how you demonstrate the tools and knives you review
I don’t make videos but I’m tempted to film one just to showcase the insane collection of gear I’ve accumulated after watching your reviews lol. The outrider is now on the list, excellent vid as always my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent, glad to add to your hoard LOL.
That’s exactly what I want, blade/saw/scissors, I’ve just bought the Huntsman which is due soon but I’m seriously thinking about this Outrider now 👍🏻
Excellent, you will like this one!
Welcome back my friend sak were out for a long time 😊😊 but i know you have covered nearly all of them i remenber when you made the tuff selection of the 5 best.... keychain, pocket, kit, .....what an amazing video !! 😍😍😍🤗
Outrider is my woods edc a laplander and mora and you are set !!!!
By the way i am still waiting for the update of "the 7 blades budget system for a prepper"
Hi buddy! Great woods trio you have there!
I have the adventurer and I love it!! I have had my eyes on the outrider for a while, looks like a great knife!!
I'm glad you like, I hope this helps you decide to add one to the collection!
just bought mine... with liner lock... loving it so far! :)
Excellent, glad you're enjoying it!
great model, great video. You are wright, this is the best Vic model in this size.
Agree, a great knive! Have the liner lock version of Outrider. Good grip and size, everything one needs! For outdoors, carry in addition one handed Buck.
I have it. Same lock, black scales. Truly a great toolset for the size
WeAllJuggleKnives & Donnie B All Day.
The 2 guys i would say are a must watch, most enjoyed & much loved in my world of RUclips..
If you want knife reviews they are without doubt the best on planet earth.
Love ya work Juggler!
Thanks, man! That is high praise!
@@WeAllJuggleKnives Juggler it was your review of the Imalent DT70 way back that allowed me to own which was (at that time) the most powerful flashlight in the world..
I've been loyal ever since & i don't think you know but Imalent did send you out one of their models after the DT70 on my call.
Keep the videos coming, i'll keep a watching liking & sharing champ. ♥
Great looking knife! I think I need one. 🇨🇭
all right my man! looking good bro!
Thanks!
Beautiful knife!
I'm glad you like it!
Awesome review as always. This is my next target of I don't get the compact. I had a bantam then walker then was looking to add a scissors that's why I went to look for compact but no saw... Well the theme is minimal layers so this outrider seems to me just good even more so because if the Philips screwdriver.
I would love a stand alone video for the rescue tool with demos of course.
Sounds perfect for your criteria :]
Nice vid. My favorite sak is the farmer. For me, scissors aren’t real important, but if I was around the house and needed them, I’d go with the knife/scissors Roxon.
Thank you
Thanks for the tip with the apple ☺️ I suffer from this shit sickness, it's no fun.
I love Your videos 👍🖖
Thats been my favorite for a long time. I carry the liner lock version now. If Im not carrying that, then its the Hiker or Farmer.
Victorinox Hercules forever!
Outrider paired with the signal is in my opinion the perfect combo
I have to try the Signal one of these days
Regarding the lock: since 2017 they're linerlock both for the blade and the bottle opener on the opposite end.
If this had a smaller secondary blade instead of the phillips head screwdriver it would be my ideal knife... Nice video!
Yeah I love some of the old designs from Wenger that had a large spear point blade and a shorter secondary blade with a bowie tip.
For me the victorinox farmer x👌 then it's the victorinox fieldmaster with plus scales👌
Another good video, friend! OK. I am car camping out to Colorado and back this August. I have the Ego that you reviewed and it is an EDC in my purse. It is great and still extremely sharp, but I don't think my life could depend on it...just saying...it is Chinese. I would like a bigger blade and a bigger saw. I like the ergonomic shape of the larger Swiss knives, too. I have used the Ego to do small tasks, and I have to say that the phillips was awkward to use and collapsed back into the case during the operation a lot. I really like the phillips on this one you showed. But, I am thinking that I might like the large one with the grips the best. I like that fact that it is a locking blade. Does it also lock the other tools? Would every consider doing a Swiss knife disassembly and cleaning demo? I know there are other vids on YT, but I trust you.
The Rangergrip is pretty nice, the other tools don't lock, but its even less expensive than the Outrider, plus they have a few different models, one with big pliers in place of the scissors. The Ego knives are hard to find in the USA, definitely hold on to that :]
Outrider is a good all-around model for who wants more blade. I have exactly this same model with the old side lock.
i have tried both and prefer the slide lock version. the new model also removed the hole from the awl tool.
I was looking for the outrider on Amazon UK and also saw something called Victorinox Skypper. Has a very unique blade assortment. You might want to check it out
A SAK will make you alcoholic 🤣!
Great review as always, buddy!
Stay safe n healthy.
Cheers from Germany.
Johnny
I also think that the Outrider has a great tool set for edc. It is close to my fav edc SAK the One Handed Trekker. I like that the Outrider has scissors but im spoiled with the one handed blade deployment of the OHT. The long in line screw driver is also nice but the cork screw is pretty usless to me aside from its ability to hold the micro screw driver. Also the locking pry/bottle opener on the OHT is So handy imo. I just carry the classic SD on my keys in addition to my OHT in my pocket and I have my needed bases covered for edc. If I wanted a single smaller one knife option I think the Fieldmaster would be it as I have carried one for edc in the past but I just prefer the luxury of a one hand opening blade of good size for my daily needs.
I definitely have to pick up an OHT. Victorinox should combine the two.
Victorinox always deliver a quality product in my experience. Looks a like a great tool set, the only improvement i can think of is one handed opening capability on the blade.
That would be great, they would definitely sell more in the USA if they added one-handed option to more of their models.
I ve got it too since 15 years its not my edc but when i am hiking my companion😄😄👍
15 Years :] that is a great testiment for Victorinox quality!
I love Swiss knives high quality tool for a good price.
Me too, thanks for watching, my friend!
@@WeAllJuggleKnives how about a vid on how cheap such a high quality tool can be. I got several of mine off the bay sent right to my mailbox for sub 15$. Yes. In my opinion Swiss knives are greatly underestimated as a high quality knife.
In the Dutch navy I got the Swiss army knife specially made for the Dutch defense. And these have an other lock then this one. But cool videos.
Great review of my favourite model! Not just for the tool set but for the hand-filling grip it affords. It’s the goldilocks model for me.
I’ve not held the newer liner lock model but I imagine they will be a fair bit heavier.
The newer liner lock is stronger but this lock is more convenient...
Outrider for the win 👍. I have a Swiss Hercules myself 😎. What kind of gloves are those, those are nice 🤔⁉.
Hercules is pretty awesome! The gloves are good, too! Here is the Amazon link for them, Mechanix FastFit Tactical Work Gloves: s71.link/b/2B22gD6
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I agree indeed. Great video as always, and thanks for the info 👍.
Great video! Been thinking about picking up the new version of this with a lefty liner lock instead of the slide lock as a gift for a friend.
Now that's a good friend :]
How does it compare to the rangergrip?
I chose the Outrider when I bought a Swiss knife. The tweezers were useful in splinter removal; I didn't own any other tweezers. It would be interesting to have your thoughts comparing it with some Leatherman multi-tool options. Thank you for your insights. Your fan in the Czech Republic.
Pair this with the leatherman signal
There is more room for a blade on the Swiss knife than on multitools, so pairing them up will give you a good blade and good pliers. Rebar and Ranger are a nice combo. I have a very nice knife from Czech Republic, it's a Mikov Electrician's knife, only $16 here and it's very good!
@@WeAllJuggleKnives Inspired by your pairing idea and your review, I bought a Roxon Spark today. I did as much research as I could. But I couldn't find a video comparing the Leatherman Signal and the Roxon Spark. That would be interesting if you get time. Thank you for your helpful info. And I really like the name of your channel. :-)
@@JoseSantiago-rz1pz Jose, thank you for this suggestion. I'd never heard of the Signal. Today I almost bought one. Instead I bought the Roxon Spark, which is a similar concept for much less money. I like the idea of having a fire steel and emergency whistle as well as the other tools all in the compact multi-tool form. This channel has a review of the Roxon Spark.
Love it! Is it still available with the slide lock?
I believe they switched to a liner lock, but it's still good!
i found a seller on amazon that still sells the older model with slide lock and a hole in the awl. i think i prefer the older model
I need help. Does anyone know the original edge angle degree for the Cold Steel Recon 1 Spear Point S35VN?
If you dont want pliers, Victorinox Is the Best option for a multi tool, but for fully equiuped ones, Leatherman and Gerber are the ones to get, thats why I stopped buying Victorinox years ago.
Yeah Leatherman is their biggest nemesis, I think Victorinox needs to update their own multitool line, maybe come out with a compact model and a less expensive model, in order to compete better.
You got Victorinox Spirit X. Complete multitool.
I find it interesting that the swisstool has basically the same tools. The new model has the strange square blade I'm not a fan of. But I don't use it I save it for a razor sharp blade if needed. I really like victorinox I've got the officer model spartan, mini-champ,one handed trekker, Wegner teton. And the tool kit with above mentioned swisstool. I think they make one of the best overall product lineups of any company. I forgot I've also got the little Vicky utility knife. Edit: also the vintage general/ranger one of those words.. Which has the same lock but one blade.
That's an impressive collection, yes they do offer lots of great stuff indeed, especially some of the rarer models from back in the day.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives thanks brother.! right I agree try to find a wenger Teton that's not going to happen. I stumbled across it at a antique store. It's got a locking main blade with a oddball lever sticking out of top of scale and serrated scissors. Also the shield is just a metal plus sign. Only marking besides wenger delemont with umbrella is E.U patent on cap lifter.

I recommend the sanrenmu 7117 multi tool to you
They look great, where to buy from in America though?
It would be great if Victorinox would make the main blade one handed open like the trekker and have a serrated option and also offer a second large blade with a serrated option. Two blades are better than one. Also maybe use longterm glow in the dark colors for their symbol on the scales. This would allow easy location at night if dropped, just incase a lanyard wasn't used. Just my two cents worth as an old guy.
Yeah they are pretty stingy with their one-handed opening feature, they consider it a specialized feature but most companies consider it standard.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives Yes, I called and asked about it. They were not interested in my idea. Guess I won't support them any longer.
Damn it man lol I might have to get me one lol.
👊💀⚔🇺🇲⚔
I think you'll definitely like this one, it's pretty handy but not overly thick. *fistbump!*
Hi, the phillips screwdriver which one better and more sturdy? Outrider ( 111mm ) or Explorer ( 91 mm ) ?
I would go with the Outrider, a great knife all around.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives tq sir
Between outrider & workchamp, which one would u prefer?
If I could only get one, I would get the Workchamp.
Hi, what's your favorite Victorinox?
I like The Ranger best, it's a good compromise of size and toolset.
lol next time ill watch the whole video!
Does it come with thr micro screwdriver
No, have to add that separately.
Locking main blade huh. Hmmmm.....
Why are you in 2021 reviewing the old model Outrider ? I have been looking for a review of the new model
but have not found any thing but the old model reviews. That knife is not being produced by Victorinox anymore is it ?
The reason there are more reviews of the older model is that there are more owners of that model who have had more experience in using it. The reason people review items that are discontinued breaks down to 1) old stock still available in some places 2) Used ones still often available on Ebay 3) Collector’s request an older model be shown 4) “old” model still shares many features with new model, so much of the review applies to both models.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I have the new model, and the differences are the liner lock, a larger locking bottle opener/screwdriver, and the lack of a sewing eye on the awl (which puzzles me as to why they removed it).
😅 I think my comment to you got hidden.. (email addy)
All good.. Please just read it and delete it/get back to me when you have time...
In any case, I greatly appreciate it. Stay safe & Take care✌.
I will check the spam filter for it, RUclips tends to mistake anything unusual for spam.
I cannot find the comment using the search filter, please leave it again (possibly change any terms that might be activating RUclips's anti spam algorithm).
All it needs is a file.
Yeah a file would be handy on some of these, only my Workchamp has one.
What with all the insane liberal communist clowns out there that we all have to deal with it’s nice to get a break at the WAJK channel. Keep up the great work! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks, my friend!
