Thanks man, part 1 and 2 were exactly the info I needed. When I bought my G8 new in 2009, came with blown out speakers in the rear doors, 😂. At the time, did some research and found the JBL GTO628s were the ideal replacement as they were 2 ohm and no modifications needed to install. Swapped them in the front and moved the factory ones to the rear. Well, now the rears are shot again and need to be replaced. Unfortunately, the 628s have long been discontinued. Thanks to this vid, I now know the 629s will fit in the front, at least. So, worst case, can move the 628s to the rear (just have to clock them differently) and put the 629s up front. Hopefully, I can get away with the re-clocking trick on the 629s too.

glad to hear you are keeping up! these were easier than we thought, 6.5’ all the way around makes it easy. the JBLs were good quality and good price!

Do you know of a speaker adapter harness that fits the PPV? The G8 and SS sedan have different speaker adapters IIRC, was wondering which Metra harness would fit the PPV? I have a 2012

In this video we just pulled the plastic connector off. You can just cut the wire and wire them straight into the speakers or into a new connector. Hope that helped

Not sure about that for right now.. working on getting headers and new wheels. For cosmetics, we want a ceramic coat to get the paint looking nice then maybe some add ons! Thank you for your interest and stay tuned for more videos!
