Couple of tips about the stove. I live in Finland and see this a lot in american videos. My family cabin is 100 years old, made from squared logs. It's very simple, but has a lot of traditional wisdom built-in, that I have come to understand only through years. Our fireplace has ridiculously thick brick and stone wall around it, that I though was unpractical at first - because it takes time to warm up all the stones when we arrive to the cold cabin. Iron stove would give out the heat almost immediately compared to that. But one time when I was staying at the cabin, and went out for a full day during cold winter day, the cabin was still warm to my surprise in the evening. There is so much mass in the stones that hold the heat (surrounded by log walls). Iron stove can make the room super hot fast, but then it gets cold during the night. You could balance that by carrying some natural stones inside and setting them by the wall around the stove. The stones would protect the logs agaist the heat, absorb energy and then release heat slowly during the night. It would make the room temperature much more tolerable and stable. Anyway, great to see you people in the wild during the winter! I think that's just the best way to get away.

When I am at my cabin in the WV mountains, my guns are ready. My place is on stilts 9’ in the air. Bears move through my area all the time but being careful with food scent I don’t have much of a problem. However in northern woods the story is often different. Hiking in the Adirondacks we now have to have bear canisters in the upper wilderness and take food prep and storage precautions. All part of enjoying and respecting wilderness areas.

looking good, but still a lot of work ahead of you. Like cupboards, lots of cabinets, to hide things so that the cabin looks less cluttered and therefore looks bigger. We did that to our cabin and it makes such a BIG difference. Also a loft for either sleeping or storage.
