It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.

Just a thought, but, if the wood shed was closer to the house you could make an insulated hatch on the outside of the house and an enclosed bench on the inside that you could fill with wood directly from the wood shed. This would give you an extra seating space, or even a reading nook with a few days supply of wood underneath the top of it.

Sorry about your burn, once it is scabbed over if you use Comfrey salve on it, it will keep the scarring down. You are so talented; my husband is like you can think of something and then build it and nobody would know he just sort of threw it together. Love that you brought your hens inside, they have a great home. We are in MT and had -42F windchills with ambient air of -34F and we were always so glad to come back into a warm house.

Oh, I understand the cold snap you're experiencing! I'm also in northern Minnesota. Been fighting damn ice dams on our house. Whoever built this house didn't insulate it right. We stay warm, but so does the roof! You're having the mustache frost just like me. Your firewood stacker is a neat touch. Instead of a fireplace under the mantle, you have your firewood supply! Skeeter does the same thing my dog does, has to be right there with me but doesn't help at all! LoL! Thanks for sharing your experience and story with us! You're doing a great job with your homestead! Well planned out and prepared for the winter! Nice to see you cooking with the cast iron skillet. Good healthy meal for you guys! Great job!

Having the ability to store firewood neatly near the woodstove is essential. Cleaning up after it is a never ending chore. Want to "refresh" your broom and make sweeping easier? Cut off those stray bristles. It'll work like new and you'll stop flicking stuff around the floor as you sweep.

I live in Alaska and we were at -38 degrees fahrenheit last week too. You guys really should save up for a catalytic wood burning stove. It'll save so much time and wood. We fill the stove before we go to bed and then get up around 4 am to refill it until mid-morning. When the temperatures warm up to around -10, we don't even get up during the night. We love our stove. It's called the Blaze King Princess. We live in a 550 square foot cabin and we stay toasty warm. We do have a fan now that we have electricity on our property and that helps keep our lower cabinets from freezing our food stash.

Gret job with organization and problem solving. TIP: a small, insulated propane shed made against an outside wall of the cabin will allow enough woodstove heat to keep your propane from gelling. Propane is heavier than air so the vent needs to be at the bottom, enough leaked air will keep fumes from building up and what little heat works its way through the wall will be enough to keep the propane flowing.

Had no idea that propane gels in freezing temps! Nice wood rack. Would like to mention colloidal silver for burns, cuts, scrapes, dry eyes, ear cleaning and good to keep infection away. It is non toxic anti bacterial so can be safe for animals. And keep it in a small glass spray bottle, Helps heal quickly. Petroleum products are more unbeneficial than good for us. Hope the temps even out for you folks, Skeet and the chicks!

Kyle, when you have cut veggies on the board transfer then to the pan with the back of the blade, not the edge. That will preserve your sharp edge and you won't have to re-sharpen it so often.
I have followed you from the foundation and really enjoy watching your resourcefulness, like the workshop and the wood-rick in the cabin. Nice to see Cierra's videos too.

0:40 I love how much love the ladies get. I wish I was your neighbor 10 miles down the road. When you look after things, they will look after you... and you know that.
