A wonderful talent and a genuinely lovely man. He left us with some great childhood memories and was always 100% with everything he did. Anyone under the age of 80 would've seen him in something growing up. Thanks for the entertainment Bernard ❤ 😊 Any memories, anyone?
What a truly inspirational story that was about the taxi driver. Bernard had a gift for bringing stories to life. I can't think of anyone more deserving of a knighthood, but it's too late now. RIP Bernard.
Wish they'd show the classic Jackanory's on TV now, do they exist or have they been binned? Bernard Cribbins, Kenneth Williams, Rik Mayall, many more, genius work. Let's see it again.
A wonderful actor and a decent person in every way. Anyone under the age of 70 would've seen him in something when they were kids, whether that was Jackanory, The Railway Children, The Wombles or even Doctor Who. I wish him a safe journey to the great railway station in the sky Goodbye Bernard, we still miss you ❤ xxxx
The poor chap, he was 93. He was wunn of my dearest heroes. When he died, not that long ago now, last week, I decided too do what I did when my father died, nearly bang on ten years ago. I'd go into my bedroom and not come out for too weeks. I've managed just wunn. I suppose that I ought too mention that Bernard is not the only hero of mine whom I have lost this year. Lynda Baron, who played Nurse Gladys Emmanuel in classic British sitcom OPEN ALL HOURS, and again in it's sequel STILL OPEN ALL HOURS for just too seasons, and she was also Aunt Mabel in Come Outside, a programme I watched when I was very small on CBeebies. Both of those dearest heroes of mine died this year. I hope they will rest in peace. I still love them both.
Im of similar opinion both accomplished performers. Bernard ability to wrap himself around your imagination and make you take flight in a realm of possibility.
thanks Bernard
What a legend, loved him in some of them Peter Sellers films.
“That made me want to learn to read!” goosebumps and tears from that. Reading is one of the greatest gifts you can give someone.
Lovely little clip and what a great storyteller that Bernard Cribbins was! He will be sadly missed...
Thanks Bernard --- your readings were the best and like many they were my main source of stories when i was a child .
What a brilliant actor he was.A great loss😢
Thank you Bernard for helping to make my childhood wonderful ,
