    I absolutely love this backpack. I took it on a 7 day trail and 4 weeks of travel in Scotland. I carried a sleeping bag, air mattress, 3 days worth of food, 3L of water, and clothes for a five week city/nature trip. The only thing that did not fit was a 2 Person tent that my partner carried who had a 55L bag. If I didn’t need city clothes and normal shoes the tent would have probably fit. This review was very helpful in deciding if I wanted to buy this bag. And I must say I don’t have anything bad to say about that pack.

    I'm trying to decide between this version and the newer/updated Kyte 46. The benefit of this version obviously being sale prices! Is the newer model substantially better?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 лет назад

      Great question! Overall, the new Kyte 46 has better ventilation along the backpanel and more durability in high-wear areas. Getting more specific, the new front shove-it pocket has stretch panels on the sides only now and is more resilient. The new pack's daisy chain is made of thinner and lighter weight fabric. It's backpanel redesign features more defined ridges (higher peaks and lower valleys) and the center channel is wider, all allowing for more airflow. The tension mesh over the backpanel is also a different material.
      You're getting a solid pack either way, though the new Kyte 46 has some "quality of life" features that the older model doesn't. Hope that helps!

    Thanks for the great description. I found all the information really helpful! I was wondering though, what colour is the Kyte 46 that you have in the video? I think it is Ocean Blue but I'm not certain.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 лет назад

      Hi Carlos! The Kyte is a women's specific design, but anyone with a shorter torso might find that it fits better. The men's version is the Kestrel 48 www.enwild.com/osprey-kestrel-48-2019.html
      Happy Trails!

    can this be a carry on luggage on the plane?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  8 лет назад

      +Grech Ablao The manufacturer's measurements suggest that the pack is too large to be used as a carry on item when fully packed out. If not completely stuffed, it may work, but you would have to pack carefully and measure it against your airline's carry-on restrictions.

      The Kyte 66 is not available in the US (where we are located), so unfortunately, we won't have one available to shoot. We will have reviews of the updated Kyte 36 and 46 models soon. Thanks for watching!

    Hello. Why did osprey stop manufacturing the osprey kyte 46 teal blue? Thanks appreciate your reply a lot.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  6 лет назад

      As with most other manufacturers, Osprey does swap out colorways from time to time on their packs. This is simply a design choice, and does not affect the pack from a functional standpoint. Thanks for watching!

      Oh i see. Thanks a lot for the info. I really like the color teal blue and wouldnt want any other color. 😬. Do u know if there is any possibility they will manufacture that color again? Or do u know any second hand shops with teal blue osprey kyte 46? Thanks.

    does anyone know if the hipbelt is customizable and needed to be molded at an Osprey dealer? Want to know before I buy my gf one.

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  7 лет назад

      Hey Jarrod, good question. The Kyte does not require Osprey's hipbelt molding because they are made of a flexible foam and cannot be removed from the pack. Thanks for watching!

    How big is this, will this be a carry on?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  4 года назад +1

      The dimensions of this version are 28" x 13" x 12" making it too large to be a carry on for most any airline.

    Would you recommend this pack or the Osprey Sirrus 50L that you also reviewed? I cant see much of a difference

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  7 лет назад +1

      The packs mentioned are fairly different. The Sirrus isn't as adjustable when it comes to fit, but it does have a much more airy and breathable suspension system. The Kyte is more of a traditional backpacking bag with all of the bells and whistles, just a slightly more lightweight frame. This pack also has a much more adjustable suspension system so it can be tailored to fit much better.

      @@Enwild I have been losing my sleep over which of the two to choose from. I was thinking Sirrus 50 for how comfier I feel it lies on the tail of my back and around the collarbone, for its floating lid under which I can push a tent or remove it if I want to smuggle the pack as a carry-on, for it's extra inside pocket in the main compartment which can potentially work as a laptop sleeve, and for the extra pocket hidden under the much wider stash opening for the wet clothes in front. Also, it seems to be smaller (68x32x35cm) than Kyte (70x36x36cm), which means easier to pass as carry-on and 4 additional liters! I am confused by the more adjustable suspension system since I thought both have it. I ordered Kyte 46 since it was on discount and am now searching for reasons to stick to it or cancel the order if all these reasons enlisted are good enough to go through the trouble of ordering Sirrus 50. I travel by hitchhiking and usually do short to long-term backpacking with my tent, mattress and a sleeping bag with me. This time Im going to SE Asia and I won't be needing any camping equipment for 3+ months. What will matter tho is how easy it is to carry it, access clothes, and use it as a carry-on. It goes without saying that once back in Europe, Ill need my camping gear in or on the bag again. Please, let me know what your judgement according to my dilemma is? Grateful in advance!

      @@AnnChi992 The best advice is to not worry so much and to get enough sleep! Either pack will work well for the uses you listed. If the Kyte 46 is comfortable and has adequate storage space, then I would hesitate to swap it out for a different pack. @@Enwild I should have gone for the Kyte 46 after all...
      It's been over a week since I've been wearing my new Sirrus 50 which I picked up for being more spacious and having a more reliable ventilation system, and I have to say that backpack's frame is really digging into my hips and hurting me all the way. I've been carrying loads up to 9 kg so far and even when it's lighter than that, it feels uncomfortable wearing it, which I for some reason could not feel or notice while walking with it loaded at the shop.
      Maybe I haven't fixed it well so that might also be the cause.
      Right now the backpack is at the highest torso line, and Im 166 cm tall (5.4'') and my torso length approx. 45 cm, which I measued myself so it might be a bit off. For S/M pack, that shouldve been fine.
      I lost my touch with the other pack. Kyte 46 doesn't have a rugged frame like Sirrus have?
      thank you!

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  5 лет назад

      @@AnnChi992 Hey, sorry to hear the Sirrus hasn't been comfortable for you. Both packs incorporate aluminum stays and are internal frame packs, but the suspension systems are different. Just be careful not to cinch the hipbelt too tight if you're experiencing discomfort in that area.
