Great video!! One suggestion...you mention that the back can be adjusted....however, you do not point out the red tabs that must be pulled out to release the Velcro to adjust....I had to go to so store to get help!! I’m new! It would be very helpful to point out these red tabs..otherwise...great!!!
Great informational video! thank you very much! :-) what do you think- are there many differences between the aura and the ariel backpack? which one would you choose? thank you very much in advance! :-) elena
There are loads of differences between the Osprey Aura and Ariel packs. We'd certainly recommend watching the videos we've created to get an in-depth look at all of the many features of each. As a brief rundown, the Ariel packs are heavy haulers designed for backpacking. You've got loads of pockets, different access points and a really sturdy construction that makes it carry a lot of weight comfortably. You can also take the hood off of this pack to be used as a small day pack. The Ariel packs can be customized to fit just about anybody, so you can swap out the Hip Belt and the Shoulder Straps to get the perfect size and fit. The Aura packs are designed to be a lighter weight pack with a really airy and breathable suspension system. The shoulder straps and hip belt hug the wearer and allow for a lot of air flow. The access is fairly standard, top access and a bottom compartment. There are only a few additional pockets on the pack, so the vast majority of gear is going to be stowed inside the main bag. The lid of the Aura is removable, but isn't designed to be used as a day pack. Feel free to reach out to our Gear Specialists with any additional questions or visit our website. Thanks for watching!
Hi, would like to know, is the top lid in aura usable by itself? If not as a daypack but as a separate folder? Though the number of access points is more in Ariel AG backpack but number of pockets is more in Aura Ag backpack I felt. Could you please clarify?? I want to purchase either Aura AG or Ariel AG and confused which one to go for.
Thanks for the question! There are two buckles that lock when weight is pulling downward (the direction of the pack weight). The buckles are located behind the shoulder harness straps and you can loosen them with your thumbs and index finger. To make the shoulder harness taller, you will need to push down on the straps to loosen the buckle. Pull up on the straps while your thumb is behind the buckle keeping it loose. Once you remove your thumb from the underside of the buckle, the harness should lock into place in the higher position.
I'm 4'11'' and I am having trouble fitting this pack to my body. I'm finding I can't tilt my head back at all because the top of the pack is blocking my movement. Is this normal? I've adjusted as shown in the video but it seems to be too long for me. Should I have purchased a smaller pack?
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for watching. It does sound like the pack may be a bit too long for you. It would be best to have your torso measured to ensure you are choosing the correct length for yourself as well!
Hey, great question! The Xena/Xenith packs are some of the highest-volume hiking packs Osprey makes: Xena 88 - www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-xena-85-women-s-2018.html?.com&DpIYWbUk Xenith 105 - www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-xenith-105-2018.html?.com&DpIYWbUk
Do you know where I can buy this backpack in this particular colour? (size medium) On your website it's 'out of stock', is it going to be back in stock anytime soon?
Hi Isa, Unfortunately, this color scheme has been discontinued (this video is the 2015 model). You can find the most recent version and colors of the women's Aura AG 65 here: www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-aura-ag-65-women-s-2018.html?.com&DpIYWbUk
Thanks for asking, Liv! The Ariel is meant to carry more weight than the Aura, and the Aura is a bit lighter weight and provides more ventilation than the Ariel. If you plan to carry 40+ pounds on a regular basis, we'd recommend the Ariel, but if you load will be under 40 pounds on most trips, the Ariel may be more comfortable.
Excellent comprehensive review. Thank you!
Great review! Getting mine in a few weeks. Can't wait!

Thank you very much for watching! We will be sure to mention these adjustments in future videos! Happy Trails and we hope you enjoy your new pack!
Do you think that this back pack could be used for longer, say 6 month, journeys?
