I don’t know the details, and anything else isn’t really my business, but to see just how much all the other girls adore her, and how warm and welcoming they are with her, it honestly warms my heart to see them go out of their way to let Gura know that she belongs.

So, yeah, she is indeed Hitori Gotoh's secret identity. I mean, besides her ukulele and banjolele, she hasn't ever shown off her rig, even on Twitter/Earth-X, the Community Tab, TikTok, or RUclips Shorts, despite her WikiTubia page explaining that she has one (though, admitted, Wikis aren't really the most competent source of information out there, but that's neither here nor there), but the crippling anxiety definitely screams Hitori Gotoh.
@@bachilles3285 As someone who’s been suffering from General Anxiety Disorder (pretty much constant on-off anxiety bouts that don't always completely go away) most of my life, I can at least somewhat empathize with the "freezing and mentally panicking" part, although it's less about meeting new people for me, and more so about 'in the moment' general, everyday life, as well as catastrophizing and overthinking/analysis paralysis. But from the way you described the crying and almost peeing herself part, it sounds worse than my regular anxiety/panic attacks. Even so, it seems that Goombus has come _extremely_ far since her debut.

Even as someone with autism, I like meeting new people, I just don't really like having to talk, because I have no idea what I'm even doing on the spot a lot of the time. I'm also ass at keeping conversations going, often flipping scripts on the fly and then going back to the original subject at hand whenever I feel like it. Case and point, I'm also horrible at keeping friends, so I often never end up seeing them again unless it's online, and, even then, the Discord server I'm in is inactive right now.
Prefacing my comment with a disclaimer: This is pure outside observation on my part and I'm not claiming it to be fact in any way. A lot of the issues and little quirks she described over the years feel really familiar to me. I've been diagnosed with ADHD right around the Myth debut and learned that a ton of similar quirks in myself were secondary symptoms of that. Those included some anxiety-like patterns, because I had conditioned myself for decades to expect the worst possible outcome in social situations, due to my lack of focus. The similarities go even down to the way I found out - by randomly filling out a list of questions used to diagnose it, and having people tell me that it's not normal for my score to be that high. Took me over a year to get through the depressive phase of unraveling my previous life and finding all the instances where the undiagnosed condition had sabotaged me - but eventually I came out feeling better than I ever remember being, and keep surprising myself with how much better I am at handling situations that a couple years ago would have completely derailed me. Again, pure speculation - please don't parrot it anywhere, I don't want to spread any stupid rumors. But _if_ I'm anywhere remotely close with my observations, her extended hiatus may be a good sign overall.
