Jiren was by himself, and he Learned how to be the strongest in the room/world/universe. When he puts something behind his training, he could be unstoppable.
He literally has no limits, he himself in the tourney said "I have no Limits." Whis even stated his potential is immeasurable. Remember MUi had to initially surpassed him then had to catch up to him a couple times once he matched it lol
Vegeta was always my favourite character, he still is in terms of the good guys. But I’d say Jiren overall is my favourite now. Became insanely strong on his own, to protect the people he cared about the most, yet his strength drove him to become stronger than a GoD. Like in real life, pain can be a motivator for great things.

I thought so too, but if Jiren won, instead of wishing for the universes back, he will wish for his master to be resurrected, which is what his master wouldn't want because and it is a selfish wish. If a selfish wish was granted, The omni king zeno would eliminate jiren and his universe which is why Goku should have won even if I am also rooting for Jiren 😅
goku didn't win though, the tournament was supposed won by whoever was left standing last, which in the case of both the anime and manga was Android 17, but if you look at it from a literal standpoint then you can say Universe 7 won the tournament
Jiren never lost in a true sense, an amazing character like him, had to lose his essence just because they had to uplift the protagonist, no hate for Goku, but I see Jiren represents the true people.
