  • My brother just returned from his 2 year mission for the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint , and we welcome him back as he makes the transition to the real world where the real mission starts of enduring to the end and putting Heavenly Father first.

For those wondering why they get emotional watching the Haka its because its Tribal. It calls to the tribal side of all of us. Our blood our bones our spirit hears it and remembers when we we're all part of a Tribe. Europe, the Americas, Africa, Polynesia. Don't matter where our ancestors came from originaly we were all part of a tribe at some point and your body remembers. If this brings tears then let them fall, dont feel shame no matter where you are. Let the tears fall back to earth where our ancestors can feel our love. From a Proud Native man of Canada

Thank You for explaining this felling I have watching the Haka. I'm not sure what part Cherokee I have, but on my mothers side my great grandmother was full Cherokee. Not knowing my father well I'm not positive if it's grandmother or great grandmother also Cherokee.

The HAKA is Very Emotional because it means TOTAL MANA which means having the Spirit of Life and I can say that it Is a Feeling that goes right from your toes up out of your Head! Its like having the goosebumps but in a Very Awesome Tranquil Feeling :) It comes from the Ancestors and the spirits of the past living Ohana :)

I’m not even from the area and I find myself getting hyped up and emotional. As someone who served I. The military I served with a group of New Zealanders and watched them perform the Haka for comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s more than just a battle cry.

Such a lovely homecoming! I imagine it will be the same when the veil is lifted, reuniting us with our loved ones. My son served a two year mission as well and had many to greet him.
The smallest young man, can visibly be seen as the Spirit flowed through. I pray all are still well and filled. My son has been a bit lost. He'd met an atheist and well...Since out of his life, the prayers for him have brought him back bit by bit. There's not a chapel in his town. Missionaries asked for his address and I thought they were going to write a note of encouragement but some showed up when he was still with her and I was blamed. They'd been broken up for three months before I learned of it. My son didn't want to give me his address! I really had no idea people from a larger town with a chapel would go to their house and had to promise I wouldn't call, explaining again. Thank you for the lives touched. My son served in Seattle-Tacoma and said it was the best two years of his life. He'd shared with me his first companion was abusing him verbally and physically. Get thee to the leaders! It is not the easiest thing as many know.
May the blessings be abundant to you all.
The next time you put together a sandwich for a quick bite to eat meal, think of the miracles it takes to get from seed to harvest from all over the world to ships, trucks, markets, the electricity to keep condiments and the vegetables fresh to create that sandwich you eat. Many people have not even a slice of bread nor water.
Peace be with you in your hearts, minds and souls.
    🍃🌾🍃🌾🍃🌾🍃🕊⚘🌿

It’s all about respect. We don’t do the haka but we have our own family traditions. We celebrate every opportunity we meet. Our men kiss as a sign of respect to each other. Every member of our family kiss and hug, from the oldest to the youngest. We spend time celebrating our family. This can be anywhere we meet. Family is everything.

What the haka does is, it
reaches into the very depths of your inner self and the experience is one of Awe, or as described in Māori te ihi, te wehi. The wonder, the Awe and the powerful psychic force that generates your authentic self to be unafraid, courageous, compassionate loving and fully self expressed.
