    Many great points about pickups. I found I liked the Seymour Duncan Mag Mic much better than my M1 active. The reason I chose it over the M80 was its ability to adjust the mixture of the mic and magnetic pickup. This gave the ability to simulate an archtop electric if I wanted. Mixed it had a very acoustic sound.

      Thanks for the comment. Great to hear about another good choice of pickup. Have a top day and if you think I should keep making content I'm super greatful if you can share any of my videos with friends you think they would be useful to. Warm wishes. And thank you again!

    I’m trying to find your video, referenced in this one, explaining the 3 types of acoustic pickups. Not seeing it.

      Good point... Could be I haven't made it yet! Hmm. Thank you for reminding me. I'll put it top of my list. I released a new video today. I can share my thoughts on the three main types of pickup next. I'll try to remember to message you when I do it. But obviously I'm very grateful for a new subscriber and that way you'll get informed when the video is made. Probably take me a couple of weeks. 🥳👍🎵🙏🤘

    Thank you for this great video! I just got an M80 today and I love the sound so far. One thing I'm wondering that maybe you could speak to: it says in the manual that when the pickup is on the passive setting you can "use the pickup with an external soundhole cable to avoid permanently modifying high end or vintage guitars." Do you know exactly what this means? Do I not have to use the cable that comes with it to connect it to a 1/4" cable? I can maybe plug a 1/8" cable into something else? The instructions are not clear and I haven't found anything else yet on the internet that addresses that.

      A bit more detail on my guitar: I have a Larrivee that I got from a friend years ago. It has a truly beautiful sound but unfortunately the body is a bit banged up in a couple of places (which is the condition I got it in) and I really don't want to drill in it to enlarge the strap button hole. But maybe that's just not that big of a deal; I've never done it before.

    • @soundtuition
      @soundtuition  Год назад

      Hello, so to fit the pickup without drilling, you use the 3.5mm to 1/4" cable. That is to say, the cable that on one end has a 3.5mm jack which goes into the pickup. And then the cable runs out from the sound hole, and then the other end of the same cable has a 1/4inch jack which goes into either your PA, or amp, or pedal etc. That cable should come with the pickup. Then you don't use the endpin at all. Search for end pin and jack if any of those words don't make sense. If you drill a hole, buy what is called a "step drill bit" looks like a triangular drill bit with steps in. You then drill a small pilot hole and then use the step drill bit to drill to the full size. But if you like the pickup and aren't confident in drilling your guitar I'm confident you can find a guitar repairer who can do it for you. Really hope that helps. Any help sharing my videos with friends or encouraging people to subscribe is greatly appreciated. Warm wishes Pete

      I had the same problem/concern with my vintage Martin ('53 D-28) . I ended up using a Vintage Jack end pin to avoid enlarging the end pin hole. Worked great for years, check it out. @@tacotank10

    I like the video. You talk about the k&k, where is the video that you talk about it? I have martin 00042 and serious doubts between m80 and k&k pure mini plus trinity. Have you tried this k&k dual system? The vibration that the m80 picks up from those guitar strings will be spectacular, but the amplified sound as it is with k&k trinity will also be wonderful.

      Hello. Thanks for the comment. I have a video of the k and k on my old channel... ruclips.net/video/RY6pMNbszTw/видео.html
      Hmm 57k views... but please sub to this new channel if you feel you can give the support of pressing the sub button. It makes me want to keep sharing videos.
      I don't have any experience of the trinity. But in general I really like the k and k. And I've wanted to replace the m80 in my R Taylor Style One with a k and k pure mini for years. Just never had the time. Let me know how you get on and what you run with as I'm always excited to share people's experiences with others as it helps everyone. Warm wishes from Finland.

      @@soundtuition hello. Well, yes, I think I'll put k&k trinity, if you want I can do sound tests for you when I have it installed. How do I get them to you?
      Before the m80 if feedback is not a problem... and I don't use a lot of effects I prefer to use a clean electric directly.

    AMAZING video about the subject. Thanks! I'm thinking about adding my m80 into my baggs Lyric, any experience or thoughts on that? It has to be passive, lose control volume, but I guess I could gain more bass, i don't know what to do I can't really find much info about it

    • @soundtuition
      @soundtuition  2 года назад

      Hei. So great to hear you liked the vid. I'm super greatful if you hit the subscribe button!
      What is it that the lyric isn't giving you that you hope to gain with the m80? Sadly I don't have any experience of the lyric, but even the LRBaggs website says a mic is the best way to capture the sound of an acoustic guitar. So I'm not sure if the m80 will give you more than the lyric already offers you. Feedback resistance and easy of installation are definitely the best things about the m80. I wouldn't be surprised if the lyric was just better in all ways apart from the feedback issue and easy of installation 🙂.
      Are you playing live, with a band, or just for your own enjoyment by yourself? Are you using and pedals or EQ with it? Oh and what guitar do you have it in?
      Hope that's helpful! 🎵
