Done pretty much all the wear parts myself on our 2007 120, injectors, SCV, rear air suspension, cv boots, brakes, all fluids etc etc and this is the ONLY job i looked, started and the called the pros! Toyota managed to break a 2 vacuum solenoids and bend the hood in the process, all fixed at their expense, but basically even the pros struggled!
Thank you for your informative instructions, i have recently changed the mount on my Toyota land Cruiser 120 2008, kindly ask you please, we did not use any thread lock, would it cause problems by not applying thread lock?
The top of the mount thread is a stud, the 17mm nut. You can screw it out to give yourself more room to jiggle the old out and the new in!! Well it is in the Mackay mount and the old one I replaced. Follow Anthonys lead and take the alternator out and take the bracket off did make life easier!
thinking of having mine done before xmas; mine is an 06 1kD..I can't wait ti feel the difference.. just a question mate, how did you diagnose the mounts as being the problem? cheers
Thanks Anthony! I’m going to give this a crack over Chrissy/New Years. Maybe a stupid question but can I jack the engine up with a block under the sump instead of lifting?
When I pulled out the old mounts there were some tabs bent in on the old one and not on the new one. I got my part from dealer using VIN. Not sure what the bent tabs do, oh well, in the middle of it right now. :(
Hi! Currently have the same issue. New genuine engine mounts, the other has bent tabs and the other dont. Did you figure it out? Is it safe to put into the engine?

My 150 does the shake when cold. What causes the engine mounts to rattle?
There is no way in hell im doing this on my own. Need to find a trusty mechanic. Damn
What about 200 series? Same process ?
Where can I buy the engine cover?
Back in the early days of pradopoint, that was a $1000 job.
