Hi Diane, I’m Renee from northeast Mississippi in USA. I’ve never tried watercolor before, until recently. I started watching your channel by accident really and I’ve enjoyed every video so thank you. I decided to order some Kuretake paints. It’s the twelve color set 2. They’re so nice. I love them but I believe mine are broken. Not sure but nothing I paint comes out as nice as the pictures you end up with? Should I return them? Lol. I’m kidding. Guess I’ll just have to keep practicing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time. Have a beautiful day and keep your paint brush out of your tea. 😂😂❤
Hi Renee and a warm welcome to the channel!!! So glad you accidentally found us! You certainly made me and my daughter laugh with your comment about the paints! Yes, they must be broken, you should send them back immediately !!! Given a little practice though you might find they fix themselves and begin to work again! I’ll do my best not to poison myself with paint and sending you my best wishes for much happy watercolor painting xxx Diane xxx
hello Diane, I've been a member of your watercolor group for sometime now and have found great relief from the stresses of ordinary life! This week I put down my dear little dog age 17 and have not been able to pick up a paintbrush. However, I believe these loose Happy circles will be great in getting me started again! Thank you for your friendship! I always feel better after visiting you! happy gardening today!
Kuretaki is really some of my favorite watercolors. These granulating watercolors are simply AMAZING. I love watching them show their special talents when they separate into the two colors. So exciting to me. I think I own every Kuretaki watercolor sets there are. I believe I may be addicted. But what a great addiction wouldn’t you say. Love watching your channel Diane. 💜🎨🖌️
These metallics are just stunning!! I LOVE hearing the birds, and the sheep, and the dogs, and the cats, and the chickens....and I forget your awesome cockrel's name! He's brilliant!!!❤❤❤❤ Hoping your hand is better!!
Hi ZeeCee, thanks very much. Yes, my hand is much better! We have two roosters now, one called Rémi and one called Gabriel. so glad you enjoyed the video!
It really never occurred to me Diane, that any of the sounds out the backdoor or window would be anything but authentic. That is what makes my time with you so valuable; as I can picture myself in those surroundings, as it is exactly imagined. It is like having a very good book and being able to clearly imagine where you are. I would never be able to travel to France, but if I ever did I would come have tea with you. Promise. :)
Hi Dianne...We have spoken before about framing our art. I just finished watching this video. I just wanted you to know that I just LOVE your abstract pieces. I enjoy how you use all of the different paints and the free-flow expression you lay down on the paper. I so appreciate you!🌷💕
You are so welcome and thanks so much for your kind words - that painting was much happier when it had dried - both the metallics and the granulating paints show off their beauty more after a few hours on the paper!!
This turned out so nice. I just love all the little background sounds in your videos. The birdies are especially beautiful but I even love hearing the odd time when your dog gets a drink from the water bowl. It makes me feel like I am in the studio with you and perhaps painting at the same desk. It’s so friendly.

Very kind and I’m glad you checked out those artists - I used to paint like Karen but I’ve found new avenues that people like on RUclips which are more fun for me, and although I like using stencils sometimes (on furniture for example!) it’s not really watercolor art … but we’re all different aren’t we!
