Great tutorial as always. I'm from Georgia, where 20% of our country is occupied by Russia.

Please make videos on vc orb + geolayers. I would be so so grateful if you did that. Especially the fact that how can we use the orb project as its very different to how we normally use geolayers

Bro! 😂. I literally had someone call me out because I didn’t have crimea as part of Ukraine. I really wish this video came out last week! Thanks for always putting up good stuff!

Yeah the same thing happened to me. Made some people very angry, but they didn't realize it was that de facto madness.

great job boone as usual .. thanx for providing us with great knowledge about map animation .. and about the course i'm really sad that i cant buy it cuz for real it is so expensive .. maybe it is the fair price u see the course deserve it but for many many people it is not affordable unfortunately .. at least we may expect a 50% discount on big events as black friday or summer sale as the popular motion design schools do .. thnx buddy

Thank you for the video. Strangely, Russia now controls part of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine and much more of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions than is shown on the map as “disputed territories.” Russia annexed them in 2022 and now they are written in the Constitution as administrative regions. That means if everything is "marked as it is at the moment", as you say, there should be much more “disputed territories”. It seems as if the developers want to avoid using the data, but also to please Ukrainians and not to irritate Russians too much. Strange principles.

Thanks for the video. Actually, the fact that GeoLayers uses de facto borders is quite harmful. Many editors don't dive into the Ukrainian context and just take the shortest path by drawing a polygon without Crimea, thus contributing to the legitimization of the Russian illegal occupation and ongoing war.
Do you know a way to contact GeoLayers about this issue? Is that even possible to influence somehow?

Yeah I've been burned a few times with this oversight. Same thing actually happened to me with de jure boundaries as well.
You could try and just reach out via the aescripts page. You could also reach out to Natural Earth if you wish.

I have a problem with importing the data from Natural Earth. There is inscription ''No Geospatial Data'' when I add all files in Gealayers. What file I should to import from Ukrainian border folder?
