Prof I’m gonna have to disagree with you on Venom. No matter if he is duped or unduped he still counters annoying Spider-Man champs and Iron Man infinity war and now Warlock, although the duped ability would certainly be incredibly valuable in that match up. The signature ability of Venom isn’t essential, it’s just really nice, because all it does is pretty much give Venom more buffs, faster, and increase his damage output. It’s not required for his main utilities such as: for his evade counter, imiw counter, nullify on sp1+heal, bleed, armor break on heavy, and unblockable specials when the opponent is under 18%.
I think archangel should have been talked about more on this list. He does insane amounts of damage straight out the box with no awakening and then once he's awakened he's like a whole new champion, much like blade
I'd throw Beardo in there. I took him to R5 unduped (he was my first actually). Perfect parrys and extremely high block proficiency, combined with a powerful heavy attack, an insane SP2, the ability to glance hits and be super tanky, an SP1 that has 100% ability accuracy reduction (and thus can push Magik over a bar of power without her getting limbo, can't be evade or auto-blocked, and won't activate any abilities), plus the counter to all non-passive unstoppable, he's extremely solid.
Lol. Archangel doesn't need to be awakened. He's definitely more useful, but let's not pretend stacking neurotoxins doesn't still do a shit ton of damage.
I love playing Spider Gwen (unawakened). Awakening would make her better since the ennervate would last longer, but even unawakened, what I like about her is her animations fit my play style quite well. She's pretty much the only champ I can reliably intercept with without even having to think about it.
Hawkeye is so underrated a guy in my alliance thought he got jipped until I explained how solid he is and just span sp1, it didn't take him long to change his mind.
All of Mephisto’s (what I would consider) most useful mechanics are available to him unawakened, and he does have a few. He can shut down buffs on the opponent to begin a fight, and of course he has that regen for when shyt gets real. That, his immunities, his synergies, and the weak mystic class make him a good candidate for rank 3 at least.
@Proff Hoff : - Mutants - SUNSPOT.. even un-awakened he does great damage and is super fun to play. diffucult to come by and i lucked out getting him but he is soooo much fun. every hit incinerates the opponent so long as they arent immune. I just used my 4* 30/30 rank 3 to decimate the act 4,chapter 3 Venom boss ( a PI of 2300 VS 19000) and he just solo'd Act4.4.1 on the mutant path. SOOO MUCH FUN AND MASSIVE DAMAGE OUTPUT ....light em up!
If you can get the heavy attacks in, and work the debuffs, Dormammu becomes a wrecking ball. Rogue and Dormammu consistently outperformed my Blade and Stark Spidey throughout Act 4. It's a different ballpark in act 5 - but Dormammu is criminally underrated.
Massacre is great unawakened, I used my 6 star unawakened to do so much of chapter 1 in the first Variant since I don’t have Omega or Domino he was a huge help!
Shout out for Darkhawk as well. I know he benefits greatly from a high sig level but his double immunity, null mode damage output, a bit of accidental regen will all help newer players unawakened.
I just pulled a 5* omega red and he suprised the hell out of me. He is great even unduped. I can't wait to dupe him now, but even at rank 3 he just took out uncollected Clair V for me.
I usually agree with you prof but today I don’t. For a first timer with champions out of the Crystal, civil Warrior is not trash and korg is definitely not trash. For somebody learning the game, a 4* korg gives so much room to make errors because he can eat sp3, counter evade, become unstoppable and unblockable and most importantly, cause bleed damage. Also, the mystic class is trash I agree but magik is in the top 5 definitely of champions out of the box. Captain marvel movie however has a learning curve for people who have just begun the game.
Spider-Gwen has really nice damage ramp up and power control capabilities with the sp1, heal reversal capabilities with the sp2 (once duped I believe), and slow to prevent unstoppable and evade which can be an annoying mechanic to work around. Night Thrasher has really good damage, but he kinda needs the dupe.
Proff I'm a little sad u slammed the mystic class so much. U missed some really good ones. But best is mephisto. He has so much to offer immunites, power gain(with aura and mystic despersion), regen, soul imprisonment which stops all power gain, evades, unstoppable and much more. Plus if u synergy him with the champion he gets 15% attack per soul. @6 souls it's 90% all without awakening him. Worth a mention for new players I reckon. But again appreciate ur videos. Thanks. 👍

Crazy attack power, power drain on sp3 that takes 2 bars of power and gives u aura for rest of fight. Plus the damage on aura is around 1300 plus his 90% attack. Don't sleep on mephisto bro. 👍
Kurt Henning he didn’t have the kinetic energy absorption suit during Civil War, but I agree, they should at least make an IW or Endgame BP with the new suit 👍🏼
If you have Guilly and Darkhawk...heck Moon Knight helps too and with those synergies NT can still put out some decent damage unawakened...BUT yes having him awakened does push him over the edge...
The only bundles you should use MI pts on are when they offer one the new 3* champs of the month....Those crystals bundles IMO are a waste of your pts..
Prof- doesn’t Sentinel benefit Very much from awakenin/high sig? It allows it to get 100% analysis faster and become OP. That’s tantamount to saying Omega Red doesn’t need awakening 🤔

Arcangel benefits from being awakened of course, but he's great even unawakened. Venom is easily one of the best unawakened Cosmic champs.

AA should get a shout out for unawakened as well as awakened. He will help new players clear a ton of content even without his awakened ability.
Spider Gwen does a lot of damage and after special three does and additional half damage each time you hit for around 7secs
Dark hawk can auto block in shield mode, increased power gain in stealth, and nearly double attack in null mode. He's my first max sig 5*
At sig 200 its 100% chance to autoblock and parry, 60%+ power gain, and 1822 additional attack rating
I have him 5* R3 but unawaken, still debating whether to awaken and R4 him

Played with Spider Gwen. Perfect against Unstoppable champions. Used her in war a few times. Even better with Gwenom Rising synergy

Arkangel does not need to be awakened. The only thing his awakened ability does is that it lowers the opponents anility accuracy

Soul imprisonment doesn't stop power gain or Evade unless its a Buff
