    My camp equipment is basically the equivalent to yours, I appreciate camping with quality gear and I know I’ll look after it so it lasts for many years.

    That's some really good gear you have there... there really is no substitute for quality gear that lasts.
    It is a guarantee that cheap gear will let you down when you need it the most.
    Thanks for a great video!

    I went with the sunset, I needed the height and the high back. My whole camping/travel rig is heavy but plan the route to suite. I do have a lighter Dual sport for weekend rides or tough trips though. My tent/air mattress is heavy but was a cheap starter choice. But I need good sleep and room to move, being older. Time will sort that out.
    Must do a search for those chair feet.
    Cheers 👍

      I’ll agree with that it sits right beside the chair 2 on the rear rack 🎉
      No sleep = crap second ride day which is definitely not the plan for a multi day moto tour

    Thanks forthe great video. I have a Big Agnes chair and broke the metal leg. I was able to put a radiator clamp around it as a fix. Love the balls idea as they do sink down in the river, or on sand, soft dirt.😊

    This is an awesome break down. Well done mate! Would be interested to hear your option on your soft luggage experiences 👌 I'm considering Rigg gear over the giant loop. Would love the mosko moto 40L rackless! But for the price yeah nahh.

    • @DKADV
      @DKADV  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, the price is a big one for the Mosko gear. I purchased mine thinking it would be awesome. They are good but could be better, bounce around a lot. You are on the money with Rigg gear, a few of the lads I ride with use their gear and are happy. I would love to try the Mojavi from Giant Loop. If I had my time again, they would be the ones I would get.

    I’m trying the BA 1P Bikepack tent this season. Trying to change how I deploy my gear ie taking in only the bare minimum into tent and leaving the rest in the waterproof panniers on the bike. One WP bag in the vestibule for other essentials I need nearby.

    An absolute belter of a lightweight gear setup mate rock on👍👍👍 What kind of tarp do you use for shelter.?

    • @DKADV
      @DKADV  11 месяцев назад

      I run a Bunnings tarp for trips when there is a bit of rain about. It is a 2.4 x 3.0m tarp. 550 pararcord to rig it up and you're in business. My winter one is discontinued, but it is a 6x2.5 storm shelter.

    Enjoyed the video. Wondering if you apply the same weight theory to consider your riding gear as well. Some of that stuff added up with jacket boots and helmet can make a big difference. Do you look for weight savings there.

    • @DKADV
      @DKADV  11 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely mate. I have gone for lighter riding gear with really good airflow. I'll try to get a video together with all my riding gear soon.

    Good info. Similar kit to mine except that I’m using Kriega luggage on my 701, and I’m 6’4” which can make finding a tent a challenge.
    Just curious how you carry your tent poles? The tent itself is always easy to handle but the poles themselves can be a bit long for many bags.

    • @DKADV
      @DKADV  11 месяцев назад +1

      I'm tall also mate, so I know your pain. I put my poles in my tail bag to protect them from getting crushed in my side bags. I use a 20L roll bag, and they fit fine.

      @@DKADV tell me about it. I’ve searched high and low for years and seem to have stumbled upon a reasonably priced option that ticks all the boxes from a Canadian company called Durston Gear.

    My problem with the lightweight gear is that to save 2lbs on a tent you go from a $60 tent to a $400 tent. This is ridiculous.. Same goes for a decent sleeping bag. I have a Kelty Cosmic 20 long wide bag that was $70 going to an ultra light quilt would be $400-500. To save 1.5 lbs…

    • @DKADV
      @DKADV  6 месяцев назад

      I hear ya! It's a decent investment for only a small reduction in weight. Looking at getting a lighter sleeping bag at the moment. They are not cheap!
