Giving the table away after he’d agreed to pay buy it was mighty decent of ya. Prove your point and make a subscriber super happy. Job done!
Shoulda made that guy pay for it, now it’s worthless.
@@smicksmookety that makes no sense so if someone gives you A tv or computer as a gift and you don't have pay for it it's worthless ?? it's not an NFT its a physical object like a chunk of gold even if you found it or it was a gift it's still gonna have value
@@smicksmookety that's like saying any gift you've ever been given has no value because you didn't pay for it ?
what if you're gifted a car for free if that worthless too ?
@@brandonbritt99 Now anytime anyone goes to "buy" something from him they'll assume they'll get it for free, so now all of his furniture and his dog are worthless.
Huge planer name - CHEW-BACCA
It chews wood
its huge
and the sound when wood goes through
Its a no brainer and perfect!
can shorten it to Chewy :D
But it's a Wide Belt Sander though
Chew-barkka?
Tatooine! Get it, sand?
My planer just got its name hahaha
As someone who's repaired pallets as a job, I have never once seen someone break down a pallet properly!! ;P With this pallet you would pry off the bottom three boards, then use a hammer to knock off the bearers from the top boards, easy and quick.
This needs a video
@@cjamesfoxlots of them already
Love that you gave it away. Turned out to be a beautiful table. The dark stain was defintely the way to go.
If Mark allowed it, I would love for you to take a trip to visit his house, because that looked like something special from the couple of photos.
Looked like a modern home severely lacking in design. Functional, but ugly. At least it's not one of those ugly box homes with squares on top of rectangles next to squares. God those are disgusting.
@@elimgarak1127 I mean it's not exactly my cup of tea either, but it's not *terrible*-and at this point I'll take literally anything that isn't those hideously bland suburban style houses where it looks like the city planner just hit copy/paste 40 times.
Overall-not my dream house, but a MASSIVE win considering the competition
I second this. It looks unique and I'd love a tour. Perhaps Mark has a RUclips channel?
Just call it Jordan, that when when it predictably goes wrong at some point we can still hear *DAMMIT JORDAN*
😂
thats awesome! hahaha
Just like Jordan I’ve several previous employers with “personality.”
What'd I do!?
That table is so nice! From the photos I would have thought it was one solid block of pallet wood. Good use of material 👍
i really enjoy your videos and how you include the real time involvement like cutting to your weekend and what not
Can we get a series on Mark's house? That was insane!
Also with 75 man hours, 600 bucks, and no tool/consumables cost that's $8/hour... Yikes
Yeah just glossing over that house design is an absolute crime!
and people probably still think its overpriced
Did you see that first table on his computer for $68,000
Welcome to woodworking! :)
@@griffoutdoortv5882 It is.
That machine should be called Adam Sander.
You could have just stacked the panels @2:25, glued them together and polished it up to make a decent coffee table
Ya'll going way above and beyond for these projects and I love it 😆
Beautiful table!!!! I got inspiration , i dont have enough tools but im going to try and make something!!
This table turned out amazing John. Reminds me of a vintage large butcher block table in a kitchen, but shorter and in a living room. Lol
That table was awesome! I really liked the pattern on the top. Very nice work from the master. You might name the Planer “The Big Bite”. That thing is cool.
Is that from eat it or yeet it? Haha
I used to build and repair pallets for a bit. You made it harder by cutting the boards before using the bar, honestly. When we used to pull them off we'd use a similar hoof shaped crowbar, start on the center stringer then pop the outer two just the same. The boards pushing on the stringers gave leverage you lost by cutting them down. At least in my memory it was easier lol
use a Sawzall with a 12" metal blade and just cut the nails to release the slats from the frame wood. Simple matter of punching the head of the nail out of the slat wood. Depending on application you'll have much longer wood available for your project.
I name the belt sander jackie sand 😂 because it has a black belt in sanding
Name the sander “S.O.B.” (Sanding Oversized Boards)
Thanks for the videos, you entertaining S.OB, John!
“Sander of Boards” SOB
ha! BIG S.O.B. i like that one!
Kept watching the video, kept getting reminded of that one YT content creator who built an off-grid cabin (complete with stove inside) using free pallets of wood. Took him a few months. But it looked good. Even had a bed inside. Support for the bed made from pallets.... So, guess that's the next project. Only instead of a cabin for one, a school house for orphans. An edumacation is important. 🙂
That table design goes extra well with that type of house. Nice.
That's huge; you probably could have sole that table for...ALOT, but instead you gave it to a subscriber, much respect John. I was think of a name for the planer; JANE-JANE THE PLANer.
Feels like the tree went full circle with this one! Looks great
Mighty fine wood work there, with a nice table at the end. Recyclables rule!
Great looking finished product John. Would you supply some model info on the 3M respirator/face shield you were wearing when you took the table to Kutzall hell? Looked like a powered respirator.
John's facial expression when he heard double or nothing was great
Any link on Mark's house build?
I have listened to the sprayers🙌🏼🙌🏼, yet I have not send a video on what your set up is for it!
Awesome video bro!! This was OG John at it’s finest! Keep em coming!!
Has to be sandy the dream maker 😂
Had to give it away.. he didn’t want to admit he worked for 8$ an hour 😂😂
Dude. You're kidding right. It was like $1/ hr...... hahaha I cant charge someone money for a table made from pallets, just not my style
Lou certainly has a vintage Norm Abram vibe going on. Pure awesome!
John, Love the video and great that you gave it away to one of your subscribers.
Thinking of a name for a monster size wood planer while sticking with the muppets theme, there’s only one option: SWEETUMS.
I think we all could get on board with SWEETUMS
Yes, top suggestion!
Name it Deion.
Aka Deion Sander
Great name!
You can zip the nails off the back using a sawzall then take a nail punch the the holes on the back of the boards way easier than trying to nail pull the boards off. You get longer usable boards and the nail holes look kinda cool.
If you don't call the belt sander BOB for "Big ol Beltsander" you're missing out on a solid opportunity.
Can you give us some tips on figuring out what a hardwood is and what a softwood is when looking at pallets.
Dude was like, over the top excited about that table.....oh wait.......no he wasn't...
I would’ve made smaller base to make the table look more elevated from the ground. However, it looks awesome!
Hey john ive seen some others try these roll up chairs called Miesrolo chair, would be interesting to see your attempt at it
"Big Sandy" for the new wide belt sander. Works for a couple reasons and it's also the name of a town in Montana.
yooo we have some of those igloo style houses near here, they are awesome looking, just dont know about the utilization of space
I gotta try some power carving! Awesome looking table. How’d you like the smoke wagon bourbon?
I know it has been a while since this video was made but I build stuff out of pallets too. Love the table was awesome. How is moisture levels in those pallets? And could it be a concern for me?
Mark's house is AWESOME!!! 🤩🤩🤩
For the belt sander name it Boss Hogg. It's dressed in white big and loves to eat.
One of my must watch is Epic Upcycling and he only uses pallets. He is impressive!!
That looks amazing, and to give it away is the best.
Name it Kermit, cause you already got Ms. Piggy.... just seams like the right thing to do
Use a recip saw with metal blade and run between the boards and support to cut the nails
Get the look and larger boards and quick, well worth it
I am so glad even someone with more skill and tools than I has trouble breaking down a pallet. I don't know how people manage that on a regular basis.
Hell yeah on the blue run! Sharing damn good whiskey! How many tables do you make for significantly smaller youtube channels 😂. For real great job on this one! Cheers man!
Another cool video! The name of the giant drum sander needs to be. "THE BIG SMOOTHIE"
*watches this video on a monday morning.
John: "Have a good weekend!"
yeah, just 5 more days...
Call it either ‘The Colonel’ (Sanders) ‘Neon Deion’/‘Primetime’ or ‘Adam Sand-ler’!
Very cool it was great of you to end up just giving it away to him for there house
Pumba! You've got Miss Piggy and then the phrase "They call me Mr. PIG" came to mind from The Lion King.... So in connection with pigs go with Pumba!
Your workshop is amazing. I would be a kid in a candy store . 😅
i came for the crazy builds but stayed for the references in the editing
I love the stain you used on it! What is the name of it?
I'm glad I heard you say your last name for that advertisement there, this whole I thought it was pronounced "mal-uh-kai".
That table would have looked even better with some shelves or drawers in the side. More than enough room for it. Maybe an idea for the future.
What a cool table I totally want to build one now
Cool table made out of pallets, but can I see a video of that dude's house? It looks amazing!
How about planer mc-planer face!
The Wide Belt Sanders name should be Jordan 2.0, because if it messes up then you can still say, "DAMMIT JORDAN!"
Just curious, does anyone know what brand of sanding disc thing that John uses to carve out the wood around the 7:10 mark here? I dont even know what they are called really.
I think would look awesome with a natural stain (no color) just something to seal it. Also, what bourbon was that?
The SOB should be named "John" simply for the jokes and giggles that can be made out of it. for example "John that sucker up" or "put it in John". xD
it sould be funnier for the jointer but oh well
I’ve been working with pallets for a few years and there have only been a handful of pieces I’ve sold. I make all my stuff for myself or to give away to friends and family. Unless you’re a pro, it’s really difficult to do this kind of work and actually make money that equals to the time you put in on these projects, so I take pleasure in doing something nice for someone, like friends and family, I enjoy doing it, and others do for me as well. So my advice is to not get caught up in the money. Just enjoy yourself and get creative.
Sweet Sally Sue. You gotta give your big machines a sweet name. 🤣
John made another project to sell this time, find a buyer and give to him. You have to love this dude
Belt sander: Big Woody. Cowboys wear belts, Woody is the most famous cowboy, arguably. 😂😂 and well wood working. Woody. You get it.
A good name for the Drum sander I reckon. should be TRUE GRIT! Cheers, Rusty
Your my friend are a dope person im inspired to do wood work great videos love your content god bless
The table was too small for my house, but if it was twice the size, and you shipped it to California, I’d buy it. It turned out to be a great looking table! And, the placement in it at your buddies house, was brilliant as it actually looked like an expensive table, and nobody would believe it was pallet wood. It would be cool if you designed it so the top opened.
Almost a good size for a end table. Alittle short tho
@@randybobandy9828 Agree on both counts!
I know I’m super late to this video, but I like the name “white whale” for the sander. Love the videos.
Call the sander ‘Dr Freeze’ from Batman and Robin, sorta looks like Arnie’s face through the blue side panel and it keeps with the DC theme
The coffee table came out awesome.
Call it “The Big-Ole Bastard” 😊
Well, John, like myself, I know you are a sci-fi guy. So I would name the double belt sander machine, the dune master! From the movie, Dune, maybe put a sticker on the side of the giant worm. Plus it would fit since literally the machines purpose is to sand things.
i made clip boards out of pallet wood and sold them on etsy for 30$ and they sold pretty well
That house is beyond awesome
Call the sander David Hasselhoff. It’s down to be in the sand all day.
When it’s time to sand it’s off the Hoff. When it fails it’s apart of the hassle of making awesome things.
What you save in material you spend in labor. You know dude was definitely ready to buy the table to furnish his gorgeous new home. It'd be very fitting.
what ingredients did you use fir down parts?
John I thoroughly enjoy your videos and your energy far more then a lot of other RUclipsr woodworkers. We need more videos! Even if it's a vlog! Love you!
Well I'm glad you enjoyed his video but honestly it wasn't even good enough to be considered a woodworking video because the entire thing was talking and not much else.
Belt sander, name it sandy cheeks. Cause shes a squirrel, and you like to get squirrely.
Name the belt sander Sandy. Then start singing some Grease. "Saaandy, can't you see?"
You could name it Jamba Juice because it takes rough stuff and turns ‘em into smoothies 😂 (ok, I’ll show myself out)
Sandy the belt sander!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Since Miss Piggy is right across from your sander call it The Hog
Since you have Ms Piggy keep in the Muppets theme. . Either Animal or Fozzie bear (since it removes the fuzies), and potentially Gonzo as another tool.
I Love This Guys Videos 💜🍋💜🍋💜
Big Ol' Sanding Solution = BOSS.
not only were pics better but so was the finish
Big Bertha the belt sander, or Beulah the belt sander. Lol hahaha
I wish you would have gave away that jet drum sander 🤣
Great Bourbon choice!
The house is going to be cool and the table will fit the design
BIG BERTHA
For the sanding machine 😂
