SPOILER WARNING!!! I am watching all Star Wars in Chronological order; I have seen the Original Trilogy but nothing else beyond the Kenobi so please be careful of spoilers in the comments.
Fun fact: As shown in a comic, where Thrawn is given the rank of Grand Admiral by Palpatine himself, Thrawn confronts Palpatine about the Death Star project. Palpatine is of course surprised at how Thrawn even knew of said project, which is fair, considering it's immense secrecy. But Thrawn is, as we all know, incredibly intelligent. He had learned the name from unguarded dispatches, and he deduced the size and power from resource allocations. Thrawn wanted to know what Palpatine planned to use such a super weapon for. And Palpatine figured Thrawn was concerned about his own people's safety, and reassured Thrawn that he had no designs against the Chiss, and he neither begrudged Thrawn's defense of his people. Palpatine also stated that when the Death Star is finished, it's presence alone would quell any uprising against the Empire, simply out of fear alone. Thrawn warned against diverting too many resources from a flexible navy, but Palpatine seemed confident the Death Star would suppress all opposition regardless of where it is. So, yeah, Thrawn knows about the Death Star project in Rebels, however, he never mentions it, due to it's secrecy. After all, Thrawn can absolutely be trusted in Palpatine's eyes. It's not without reason Thrawn was given the rank of Grand Admiral... A rank that, at least in legends, were only held by 12 individuals at any given time.
Completely agree, it makes the perfect spy and the rebels use this concept plenty with Chopper and I think it happened a few times in Clone Wars but it should so be used more, so many droids are seen as harmless and helpful that you'd never expect them to turn into something like this.
That Empire lady who thought they would get a promotion for destroying the Ghost would have been in for a rude awakening. Thrawn would be furious. He would be like you destroyed our best bet to track down the rest of the rebels and the best thing we have to learn how they think!
About Saw being an extremist: Remember that in Bad Batch, he tried to take out a bunch of high ranking imperials with an assasination atempt that would be immoral by the standards of the Rebels we know (because this wouldn't have been in a defensive fight but an aggressive attack from the rebels that is not meant to directly liberate people but only to shake the ranks, when new Officers would replace the old ones and maybe citizens would be treated worse after such an incident). So this behavior already showed in Bad Batch.
True, I think I got so caught up in Tech's dead that I didn't really think about Saw's involvement and actions, it feels so present now and it's super clear that his methods actually got Tech killed.
You have seen the infiltrator droid's disguise before. There were a few of them on Lothal. It was based on concept art for C-3PO from A New Hope. Also this shot 37:06 is a Predator reference.
Love that it's more old concept art being utilized for the show, and it really makes it unsettling with how it's related to C-3PO, I need to watch way more movies as I feel like Star Wars is constantly referencing stuff that I just haven't seen yet 😂
Same, it felt so good that Zeb got this victory only for Thrawn to take it and turn it into something detrimental for them, it's so masterfully done to show that even though the Rebels do win, Thrawn just keeps using it against them.
Thrawn doesn't lose, he just learns lol. That's why he's so lethal. The only weakness Thrawn has is if you can have information that he doesn't. You would have to hit him hard with some crazy thing that he never could have possibly figured out or known about.
I love the second episode, centered on the droids and Zeb... Chopper telling Hera he had nothing to do with it, lol. Not so funny when we see how Thrawn uses that info to narrow down the search for their base. Great reaction!
Same, the episode was so good at staying relatively small for the most part and being fun and isolated, before having that major blow of Thrawn drastically narrowing down his search for the Rebel base.
Enjoyed your reactions to both exciting episodes. I liked how Ezra defended Klik-Klak in the first one and then it was great watching Zeb working with Chopper and AP-5 dealing with the infiltrator droid.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁 Seeing Ezra defend Klik-Klak was so sweet and I just love how this proved how different he is to Saw when he was on a similar path before, Zeb's episode was hilarious 😂 Surprised how much the droids worked with Zeb during the whole thing instead of trying to take charge themselves.
Seeing Saw get sad about what happened to his sister made me all sad again, remembering that Onderon arc. That was the moment that radicalized him. :( So the poison gas fell back down? Well that's unfortunate. I hope the last Geonosian doesn't get affected and that they can still rebuild. 🥲 In the 2nd episode in this video, the empire sent out many probes, just like in ESB/ep5, then they found "the best lead they've had" (as said by an officer) on Hoth. This episode started out in a similar way. 26:13 that was definitely a nod to "if we followed up every lead we had" said by another officer in the same encounter I mentioned before in ESB/ep5. Those infiltrator droids look like something straight out of a horror movie.
It was a great scene to show the vulnerability and origin of Saw, really brings you right back to everything that happened on Onderon 😭 The Geonosians really can't catch a break 😂 I hope Klik-Klak had enough time to get away from the gas before it fell back on top of him. Love how this referenced to the ESB, goes to show the Empire's tactics don't really change. The droids looked so terrifying! They really are the perfect things to infiltrate places by looking all harmless only to turn into a living nightmare!
That last line from Warhead is basically the core of how Thrawn thinks and operates. His objective is to defeat the Rebellion. This length campaign is a war. There will be many battles that make up the war, like how every move of a chess piece is an single act of war. Thrawn is willing to sacrifice pieces he doesn't need (battles he can afford to lose) if it will bring him closer to capturing the opposing king (destroying the rebels and thus winning the war. Take victory if you can. Take a defeat and learn to adapt so as to win in the future. But the end goal is always the focus. Everything else is a step along the way. You can miss a few steps and still reach the end of the path and find victory. It also has a psychological effect. By winning battles, the rebels believe that they have more control and more power than they actually do. Of course, rebels are known for unorthodox solutions, so their plans have more variables than most. Sometimes the introduction of something entirely unexpected is enough to maybe not achieve total victory, but at least live to fight another day. The rebellion right now is just a few people against the entire galaxy. But the pilot was literally called 'Spark of the Rebellion.' The title of season one's finale shows how the crew of the Ghost is spreading 'Fire Across The Galaxy.' Once a spark bursts into flame, it can be fought, but to extinguish the fire of hope completely... That is something that I don't think the Empire understands that they can't achieve. Anyway, sorry for the babble. Loved your reaction! Thank you for sharing! ^_^
Thrawn is just continuing to prove what a powerful threat he is, it’s so incredible to see how he worked this ‘loss’ into a victory for himself, he uses every situation presented to him to the fullest and it makes me so scared for the Rebels as no matter what they do, Thrawn benefits in some way.
Your reactions are always great fun, but this ranks as one of my favorites. The look of pure joy on your face when you saw Sabine with the jetpack again was priceless. Without getting into spoilers, Saw is a wild card of a character and it’s difficult to side with him as he becomes increasingly radicalized. As you pointed out, his state of mind is easy to understand. Yet, he’s taking things too far at an unreasonable level. I’m glad he finally came to his senses, and it was interesting to see a good Genosian like Click Clack. Episode 14 could have easily been nothing but filler, however it afforded Zeb with something more to do than be the muscle. I appreciated the Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout, with the droid resembling Ralph McQuarrie’s early concept art for Threepio, and its countdown indicator being exactly like the one from the “Predator” films. AP is such a great character. The deadpan delivery and cutting remarks always make me happy to see him turn up.
I could not be happier that Sabine finally has a Jetpack!! 😂 She’s always been amazing but now she can do so much more damage! Saw was a really good addition to this episode, it’s a shame to see him go down this path but it’s also a great lesson for Ezra to learn, that not everyone in the Rebellion will fight for the same things or the same way, but super glad to see that this is hope for the Geonosians, seems like the race really went through a lot looking back so it’s good that they get to restart. It's great how this show deals with potential ‘filler’, this could have just been Zeb messing around with the Droids, but it was used to elevate his character and show clearly, that he’s far more than just muscle even though most of his development seems to be done. Love that this is more old concept art being given life through the show, the connection to C-3PO makes this droid far more creepy and I need to see way more movies 😂😂 I feel like Star Wars is constantly referencing stuff I just haven’t seen yet. AP has been such an amazing addition, loving him more and more with each appearance!
Yes the drawing was indeed of the Death Star, but unfortunately the gas canisters threw the crew off the right track. I wonder when the rebels will discover the Death Star... :)
Worse part of the team not having a translator is despite how young Klik Klak is, he was repeatedly saying "Planet Killer!" when drawing the circles...
@benspiller oh Yeah- if you've looked at The Art Of Star Wars, you'll notice a ton of concept art that didn't quite make the OT being used in Rebels (the Art of Rebels is a fantastic book to get once you've completed the series, BTW!). Stuff like the AT-ST and Speeder bike from that factory episode, the black Imperial mushroom shaped base, etc. Even Chopper's little arms were on the concept for R2-D2.
Like Saw said back in The Bad Batch, he doesn't care that Admirals can be replaced, he wants to kill them anyway. Saw has no long term goal, only cares about damaging the Empire presently, without a care of how quickly the Empire recovers or what retribution they deal back.
He's such a clear picture of what Ezra could have become, it's amazing how we've seen both of their journeys and can see that thanks to the help and company of family, Ezra was able to avoid becoming like this.
4:20 Well yes, but no. Ahsoka was using the force to bring his sister to safety. But the droid gunship shot Ahsoka's arm, which made her obviously loose focus. Then his sister fell to her death. I'm glad Saw never blamed Ahsoka for the lose though. 5:21 It's ironic, cause later on Saw becomes hyper focused that the Empire is building a super weapon.
I will never not blame the king 😂 He could have run in any direction but chose to go straight to the cliff. Loved that he never blamed Ahsoka too, it's good at least that his rage is fully focused on the Empire as he would be a really bad enemy for anyone to have. Saw was actually closer than anyone 😂 he was right to think a weapon was being built but if only that was directed in a better direction.
I got so caught up with Tech dying then that I completely overlooked how Saw basically caused it, this behaviour has been going on since the start of the Empire but this time it actually seems rather tame in comparison to what happened in the Bad Batch.
Saw is an excellent representation of someone fighting the right war the wrong way. But tbh, you can't really be TOO mad at him. His family, friends, and his home planet. All gone. He clearly has a ton of PTSD from fighting in the Clone War already and he has no choice but to immediately join another after his world was taken from him. Very interesting character. Also yes, Klik Klak drew the Death Star. Geonosis had a huge part to do with its construction and planning, and somehow the locals found out about it. Obviously the Rebels don't know anything about it though. Zab, AP5, and Chopper are all capable of working together. They just don't like each other 😂. This episode shows the first time ever (to my knowledge) that the empire cares about a droid. Usually they just ignore droids and if one gets lost or destroyed, they just build another one. It's probably cheaper that way. One of the biggest focuses when writing Zeb before the series debuted was making him SMART. Instead of the usual brute characters that don't know anything that we usually see in media, Dave Feloni wanted to actually give him a brain to go with it and see what we got. That most certainly paid off. The plan to let the droid detonate upon return was brilliant, and it was probably the best possible way to handle the emergency, despite Thrawn's obvious brilliance. That droid destroyed an entire Star Destroyer. So it would have absolutely obliterated Chopper Base if they didn't get it off world in time 😭.
Loved Saw’s addition to this episode, it’s a shame that he’s ended up this way but it’s amazing how understandable it is, plus it’s a great lesson for Ezra that not everyone in the Rebellion is fighting the same way. This was so annoying 😂 😂 They got so close but only the bug and the audience can no what that meant! Loved seeing all these three together 😂 it’s such a chaotic mix and made for some really funny moments. True, I guess this droid is far more useful to them though and that’s only why they care, otherwise, it’s to the scrap heap. Absolutely love that Feloni took this approach when writing Zeb, it’s made for such an amazing character that can be incredibly versatile and never be diminished in what they can do. His plan for the droid was brilliant but of course,e they’re dealing with Thrawn so brilliant just wasn’t enough. It’s terrifying that the Empire is willing to make droids this dangerous when they're destroyed, they must have some pretty good safety precautions in place to make sure they don’t activate accidentally when being worked on or something.
I think klick klack was sad after they found the gas bombs bc he might understand common/English but since they couldn’t understand him he realized/heard them make the wrong connections/answers. 🤷🏽♂️
It makes it worse knowing he really tried to tell them and was sad he failed, If only they had a translator with them they could have found out about the Death Star and maybe dealt with it, it's so annoying how close they were yet they got nothing.
It’s low key dumb for Volcrum to keep feeding them info on things he’s associated w. Bc it could be traced back to him. He needs to snitch on things other generals are doing.
What happened on Geonosis? Here, we finally have an answer: the Empire used a biological weapon. This event is known as the Sterilization of Geonosis. What will happen to Klik-Klak and the egg? Klik-Klak will die of old age, but the egg will indeed hatch into a queen. However, this will be the "cybernetic queen" you mentioned hearing about. For some reason, this queen didn’t lay eggs but focused her efforts on creating droids. We don’t know why-perhaps the gas affected the egg, or she wasn’t yet capable of reproduction, or she simply needed droids. It’s unclear. What we do know is that this queen will eventually be discovered by an Imperial archaeologist (Doctor Aphra) and Darth Vader himself. So you can answer for yourself whether this species will survive. As for Saw: Let’s not hide it-he’s an extremist. To achieve his goals, he’s willing to risk finishing what the Empire started. He threatened to destroy the species. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did it if left on his own. Saw Gerrera represents the dark side of the Rebellion. He won’t join our group for two reasons: 1. The Rebellion wants to maintain its image as liberators of the galaxy from Imperial tyranny, so they won’t recruit a terrorist. 2. Saw sees the Rebellion’s methods as weak and naive. We can also compare Saw to Cham in terms of symbolism. Cham didn’t break; he changed for the better, motivated by his daughter, Hera. She gave him a reason to fight for himself. Saw, on the other hand, lost his family. Inside, there’s only emptiness. All he has left are memories that fuel his quest for vengeance and war. Regarding the droid from Episode 2: We only need to ask, What happened to the captured Separatist factories? The corporations were dismantled, but their designs and many of their engineers survived. They were deemed useful and allowed to continue their work under Imperial standards. The result of such work is droids like the one we see. And finally, Thrawn: Here, we see him already testing Kallus while once again relying on facts. He needs to confirm his suspicions-that Kallus isn’t being framed but is indeed guilty. In this instance, Kallus managed to defend himself effectively, but Thrawn always gains something. He shares his progress in uncovering the Rebel base’s location exclusively with Kallus. What does this accomplish? 1. Thrawn wants to see if telling Kallus will influence the Rebels’ movements, confirming his suspicions. 2. He invites the Rebels to take more active measures to stop him-putting time pressure on them.
It’s so horrifying that the Empire were able to fully wipe out two planets before the Death Star was even a thing, first Lasan and now Geonosis. Nice that Klik-Klak can live to a nice old age but the Queen sounds so weird! Ah so the Geonians still die out even after all this 😂 really hope the Queen just wasn’t able to produce eggs instead of not choosing to as this really could have cost the species. Saw was a great addition to these episodes and it’s such a shame where his character has ended up, he provides a useful lesson to Ezra in that not everyone in the Rebellion fights the same way but also gives us a clear picture of what Ezra could have become earlier on, this extremism to get revenge was close to what Ezra wanted and only having family to support him was what stopped him from becoming this, something Saw didn’t have. I honestly wonder if it would have been better if the Separatists managed to win the war, (Without Dooku’s involvement of course) as these feel like they could have been a turning point if they were used in time. It’s so dangerous and incredibly effective that I think even Jedi would have fallen to it. Thrawn is just so masterful, completely taking Zeb’s victory and turning it into his own while also testing Kallus with the information he gathered, truly a master of multitasking as well and I really don’t know how the Rebels can defeat him when he benefits from everything they do.
I would say Why does Thrawn think it was the rebels who destroyed the droid but it’s bc they only activate when they hear that they’re AT the REBEL base. Bc then it could have been anyone like pirates, or the huts/The Pykes/etc.
I think the major one would be that it was reprogrammed to destroy where it came from, anyone other than the Rebels would have scrapped it and would have to deal with the Empire coming to them, the Rebellion are the ones that want not only hide but also to fight the Empire.
Sadly, drawing a few circles on the ground is not a clear information unless you're a viewer who already knows what it's supposed to be. Even if the rebels who see this actually assume that this is the shape of what the empire built, what use would that have? They still wouldn't know anything about the size, the function or the current location of the mysterious object.
It's just annoying how well done this was, the audience clearly knows what Klick Klack was trying to say but it's far too vague for anyone who doesn't know.
Af course thrawn is the one to use such droids. Most imperials use quantity over quality, but Thrawn knows when it is time to use this expensive tool to benefit from it. Too many worlds to search and it becomes too expensive and for a lot fewer, you could have searched them yourself...
His methods are just incredible to watch, I would love to know how many batches he put out to find the planet as for all we know this was his first which could mean he actually saved on this by finding them quickly and reducing the number of planets so drastically.
Since the gas bombs fell dwn the hole we can all agree they exploded and released the deadly gas right? Did it kill Klick Klack? Like ik he closed the door/rock behind him after he left but like they fell directly above the tunnel right? Lol
I'm really hoping wherever the tunnel leads is super expansive to the point he barely felt all this falling on him 😂 But this really could be a really underwhelming end to the Geonosians.
The Empire will never know which one it was? What a nonsense? Each droid must have a unique identification number in the Empire's databases. And you also noticed that the droid knew the name of the planet. This means that Thrawn, who was setting up these droids, also knew it. Thrawn also knew the coordinates of the planet, otherwise how could he have sent a scout? In no more than an hour, he could have found out that there was no planet with such coordinates there is no planet with such coordinates in any Imperial archive. So, what do we have? A planet unknown to the Empire, but known to Thrawn. An exploded scout. Moreover, by the identification number it is easy to find out which one and where it was sent. After all, he should have received a message: "Droid with the number "blah-blah-blah" self-destructed at x:x:x PM". For a person like Thrawn, it would take two seconds to put these facts together and send a fleet to where this particular droid had been sent earlier. That's all, actually.
You can tell zebs lack of leadership skills bc first thing he should have done was run a diagnostic on it and its internal stuff. Maybe if possible w. O turning it on to check out its software/protocol/directive. Also why the heck wasn’t it strapped dwn/restrained! 🤦🏽
True, he should have been way more careful with this thing and had AP do a full check first to see what it's fully capable of, a random droid falls out of the sky and Zeb immediately trusts it 😂
so with ep 13 we see Saw's extremists tendency. he is very much the ends justify the means. saw has a lot of things that give him problems with klick klack remember geonnosies was where the droid armies were primarily built during the clone wars and what had forced him and his sister into having to be caught up with their invasion of onderon. its probably a good thing rex didn't tell saw the droid commander they met when looking for torpedo's as he probably wouldn't trust anything any of them said especially since that commander was part of the reason he lost his sister. he probably blames many people for her death. the separatists and any former supporters that directly had a part in causing his sisters death. since the droids were primary build by the geonoises during the clone wars his hate for them specifically his higher then most. probably has as much hate for them as he does for himself since he was the one who shot the ship that caused his sister to die. he probably has some resentment for the jedi sine we see him blame kanan and the jedi for losing the last war. since ashoka was a jedi when steela died and dropped her. to a degree he probably understands its not her fault but she was his sister so no matter how much he "gets over it" that pain will still be there for him. Saw si very much slowly becoming one of those people who plans or hopes to go down swinging against the empire or at least plans die taking them with him if he can. durring the in-between years ANH and ESB when Vader starts to want to try and reclaim some prestige after the death star's destruction he arrives back to geonois and finds the queen egg that klick klack been protecting had finally hatched. she was sterile however so his hopes of eventually restarting the population were gone. she did however create and artificial womb that created new battle droids that primarily shared more geonoisain traits and saw them as her children. we don't know what happened to her after wards as vader didn't go out of his way to kill her he just wanted the machine to build an army and left. last we see her is screaming about her empire being forever. klick klack was very much trying to tell them about the death star but since they didn't have a protocal dorid like C3PO or someone who actually knew the local language. especially if by chance they found something written in geonosion instead of galactic basic but then again they would probably just take a picture of it and translate it later but still. The imperil commander here is unquiet compared to other imperials in that she does show comradery which is rare for someone of her station in the empire as seen when she is exited and hopes for a promotion for not just her but her crew. she was also promoted to captain at a far younger age then most. she was gifted but unexperienced in field command which Hera sort of mentions. so for rebels as a whole falonii has stated that the first true major victory the rebellion every makes against the empire is the death stars destruction in ANH so in the grand scheme of things every victory they have is really a small one at best until luke comes along so be a problem for his dad. no matter how big it may seem it will be small compared to the death stars destruction but it doesn't mean those victories don't help build to that point. as we see with them getting the Y-wings those are pretty much what helps the rebels have them by the time of the battle of yavin against the death start or sabine's rescue of wedge and hobbie who become important in the series as a whole later on.(except for hobbie since you know he is killed in his only other appearance outside of rebels on the battle of hoth) ep14 the scout droid we see at the beginning is based on early art of C3PO. this EP is the equivalent of the dad or uncle being left with the cats who often fight with him while the rest of the family is away and somewhere along the way they grow to sort tolerate each other a little better. and then said cats*cough* AP5 *cough* breaks something when the family comes back. this whole Ep is nothing but luck all around weather its bad or good it is there. bad luck that zeb ended up being the one to fidn the droid and ended up bringing it to chopper base good luck taht chopper was not only able to freeze its detonation but also being able to send it back so it would exploded. the bad luck again starts in that the ship it returned to probably has an auto update for where the droids ships or the droid its self sent out. so thrawn probably managed to narrow down the planets due to their being a record of what droids were going where before the ship exploded and its now just a matter of looking through those planets before he find the rebels
It’s such a shame to see how far Saw has fallen since the death of his sister but he does prove to be a good addition to this episode in teaching Ezra that not everyone in the Rebellion fights the same way. It’s amazing Kanan and Rex didn’t mention the tactical droid as that would have made things so unimaginably worse! 😂 He carries so much hate in his heart and the Geonsians are just one of the sources, makes me scared to think what he’d do come face to face with other people he blames for his sister's death, especially if they had more direct involvement. Ah so the Geonsians still don’t get a happy ending after all this 😂 Feel so bad for them now with everything the species went through and then their last Queen becomes sterile and replaces her people with Droids. It was so frustrating how close they were to finding out about the Death Star! All they needed was a Protocol droid and this would have opened up everything! Seemed very odd that she showed more comradery than others in her field, nice to think that there are some like that in the Empire though even if they are still out to get the Rebels. This really puts into perspective what the show can accomplish, the Death Star was a huge victory and actually the first major change a lot, I’m assuming it’s due to its impact on the Empire and Palpatine so the Rebellion we’re following now can get some good victories which probably would effect that Empire as badly as destroying the Death Star. Love that more old concept art was used for this droid, the connection to C-3PO makes it even creepier though 😂 Love how you’ve described this episode and you’re so right! It’s so chaotic and it’s just like leaving a fun uncle alone with the pets! Yeah this episode and its ending were all very luck-based, some good some bad but ultimately it proved that no matter what kind of victory the Rebellion can get, Thrawn can just use it against them.
My recommended viewing order after Rebels is finished would be Rogue One Maybe Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor cutscenes if Andor season 2 isn't out by then The Mandalorian Book of Boba Fett Ahsoka Skeleton Crew The Force Awakens The Last Jedi Resistance The Rise of Skywalker
Still got to watch Andor after this but the rest seems perfect, also I going to try and stream the two Jedi games so they can go alongside some reactions.
SPOILER WARNING!!!
I am watching all Star Wars in Chronological order; I have seen the Original Trilogy but nothing else beyond the Kenobi so please be careful of spoilers in the comments.

Not only did Sabine repair the Jetpack, she gave it a paintjob to match her armor.
Truly making it here own, and now it's painted I know it's not going anywhere!
I really like the concept of a droid that hides it true functions, such an underused concept.
Omg the cleaning droids on Coruscant!!!!
Completely agree, it makes the perfect spy and the rebels use this concept plenty with Chopper and I think it happened a few times in Clone Wars but it should so be used more, so many droids are seen as harmless and helpful that you'd never expect them to turn into something like this.

😂😂 True!

I love that last scene with Thrawn, just goes to show that even when you win, he also wins in a way!

thank you Ben for your reaction and analysis, the ending with Thrawn is always so chilling. He is so cold and calculative.
Empire sending probes to planets, just like in Episode V, when the Empire was looking for where the Rebellion was hiding.

Same, the episode was so good at staying relatively small for the most part and being fun and isolated, before having that major blow of Thrawn drastically narrowing down his search for the Rebel base.
Yup while you were getting super excited about them figuring out how to deal with the droid I was thinking "Wait till Thrawn comes into the picture"
It's so crushing how he used Zeb's awesome victory against them, they really can't savour one win with Thrawn around!
So the poison gas fell back down? Well that's unfortunate. I hope the last Geonosian doesn't get affected and that they can still rebuild. 🥲
In the 2nd episode in this video, the empire sent out many probes, just like in ESB/ep5, then they found "the best lead they've had" (as said by an officer) on Hoth. This episode started out in a similar way.
26:13 that was definitely a nod to "if we followed up every lead we had" said by another officer in the same encounter I mentioned before in ESB/ep5.
Those infiltrator droids look like something straight out of a horror movie.
It was a great scene to show the vulnerability and origin of Saw, really brings you right back to everything that happened on Onderon 😭
The Geonosians really can't catch a break 😂 I hope Klik-Klak had enough time to get away from the gas before it fell back on top of him.
This annoyed me so much 😂😂 They were so close and it all could have been solved with a translator!
The entire time Saw was manhandling Ezra, you can just see Zeb in the background repeatedly stopping himself from attacking Saw.
😂😂 Love how we got to see Ezra dealing with Saw and learning that everyone in the Rebellion might not be the best allies.
Worse part of the team not having a translator is despite how young Klik Klak is, he was repeatedly saying "Planet Killer!" when drawing the circles...
Oh you've got to be kidding!! He isn't just making random sounds but actually telling the Rebellion exactly what's coming 😭😭
The killer protocol droid was the concept art for C-3PO by Ralph Mcquarrie!
Amazing! Even more original concept art making it into the show!!
11:11 I think you’re forgetting that is his fault that Tech is death
🤷🏽♂️
Too bad 3PO wasn't with them
It makes it worse knowing he really tried to tell them and was sad he failed, If only they had a translator with them they could have found out about the Death Star and maybe dealt with it, it's so annoying how close they were yet they got nothing.
Steela was great. Saw was always a pain in the rear. My now old saying: "I don't like Saw. He's coarse and irritating." LOL
And he gets everywhere
@yehudisfriedman8459 yes! I forgot! And he's cost us Tech, unforgivable!
😂😂 This is so true, it's a shame he's turned into such a pain when his sister was so amazing but at least he was used to teach Ezra a valuable lesson.
As for Saw:
Let’s not hide it-he’s an extremist. To achieve his goals, he’s willing to risk finishing what the Empire started. He threatened to destroy the species.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did it if left on his own.
Saw Gerrera represents the dark side of the Rebellion.
He won’t join our group for two reasons:
Regarding the droid from Episode 2:
We only need to ask, What happened to the captured Separatist factories?
The corporations were dismantled, but their designs and many of their engineers survived. They were deemed useful and allowed to continue their work under Imperial standards.
The result of such work is droids like the one we see.
And finally, Thrawn:
Here, we see him already testing Kallus while once again relying on facts.
I'm personally hating Saw a lot more rewatching this episode after what happened to Tech in the Bad Batch Season 2 finale
True, he was the sole reason Tech died and of course Rex doesn't even know about how he was involved so they still remain 'chummy'.
Since the gas bombs fell dwn the hole we can all agree they exploded and released the deadly gas right?
Did it kill Klick Klack? Like ik he closed the door/rock behind him after he left but like they fell directly above the tunnel right?
Lol
The explosion of the bombs would knock/move the door/rock so the gas would go dwn the tunnel right?
I don't think these were bombs, pretty sure these canisters were already empty.
🤦🏽
And it sucks bc he was a captain in the honor guard.
He got it done in the end though.
Lol
Has nothing to do with Leadership skills, just a lack of understanding technology.
The imperil commander here is unquiet compared to other imperials in that she does show comradery which is rare for someone of her station in the empire as seen when she is exited and hopes for a promotion for not just her but her crew. she was also promoted to captain at a far younger age then most. she was gifted but unexperienced in field command which Hera sort of mentions.
so for rebels as a whole falonii has stated that the first true major victory the rebellion every makes against the empire is the death stars destruction in ANH so in the grand scheme of things every victory they have is really a small one at best until luke comes along so be a problem for his dad. no matter how big it may seem it will be small compared to the death stars destruction but it doesn't mean those victories don't help build to that point. as we see with them getting the Y-wings those are pretty much what helps the rebels have them by the time of the battle of yavin against the death start or sabine's rescue of wedge and hobbie who become important in the series as a whole later on.(except for hobbie since you know he is killed in his only other appearance outside of rebels on the battle of hoth)
ep14 the scout droid we see at the beginning is based on early art of C3PO. this EP is the equivalent of the dad or uncle being left with the cats who often fight with him while the rest of the family is away and somewhere along the way they grow to sort tolerate each other a little better. and then said cats*cough* AP5 *cough* breaks something when the family comes back.
this whole Ep is nothing but luck all around weather its bad or good it is there. bad luck that zeb ended up being the one to fidn the droid and ended up bringing it to chopper base good luck taht chopper was not only able to freeze its detonation but also being able to send it back so it would exploded. the bad luck again starts in that the ship it returned to probably has an auto update for where the droids ships or the droid its self sent out. so thrawn probably managed to narrow down the planets due to their being a record of what droids were going where before the ship exploded and its now just a matter of looking through those planets before he find the rebels
He carries so much hate in his heart and the Geonsians are just one of the sources, makes me scared to think what he’d do come face to face with other people he blames for his sister's death, especially if they had more direct involvement.
My recommended viewing order after Rebels is finished would be
Rogue One
Maybe Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor cutscenes if Andor season 2 isn't out by then
The Mandalorian
Book of Boba Fett
Ahsoka
Skeleton Crew
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
Resistance
The Rise of Skywalker
Still got to watch Andor after this but the rest seems perfect, also I going to try and stream the two Jedi games so they can go alongside some reactions.
do you ever misess having long hair?
At first but now there's a lot less maintenance 😂
