Those are fun builds..I've built 3 660's..2 stock and mine is a big bore...my buddy has 2 ..the piped one and a work saw..we put them through hell and they keep going...great work man..can't wait to see her cut or mill👍🤘
Your wife is definitely a keeper! I too have changed my attitude with Chinese made, example those $10 grinders at Harbor Freight, I decided I needed one for every possible arrangement, no swapping cutoff disc for flap wheels. If and when one dies just trash can it and spend $10.
I just built one with the following timing numbers, Ex-96° atdc In-83° btdc Transfers @ 120° ,24° blowdown. Turned about .006 off the base to get squish at .024. Running their gasket. Seems a little spicy to me... but I haven't gotten it out to break her in yet!
You’re the only person I’ve seen that has had a piston slapper. Mine was doing the same.

The only rubber piece I don't care for is the upper fuel line..it felt kinda cheap may last may not lol...
