According to Genesis, the 2021 Genesis GV80 won multiple awards, including an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, the Best Buy of the Year for Luxury Midsize SUVs from KBB, and AutoTrader’s Best New Cars of 2021. In addition, MotorBiscuit gave the GV80 the award for best overall SUV. However, Consumer Reports doesn’t recommend buying the 2022 Genesis GV80 and the smaller GV70.

Controls confusing? Consumer Reports-Have they ever tried to figure out a Mercedes vehicle? I think somebody paid them (CR) to give a bad report, because somebody feels threatened by the Genesis models.
I agree 100%
That's exactly what it is.
I have owned about 50 vehicles in my lifetime, some junkers and some high end luxury vehicles. I recently helped my niece buy a GV70 and I was absolutely impressed. Could possibly be the nicest vehicle I've ever driven, I'm considering getting one myself.

Consumer reports is odd. There rating for the Germans doesn't match any of my experience (BMW, Audi)
I have owned a GV70 for a year now and it is one of the best vehicles I have ever driven. These guys are crazy. I would recommend this to anyone I know.
No AWD light? Heard a lot about transfer cases being replaced multiple times, failed within the first few 1000 miles.
At least we have few honest consumers. God bless America...
@robertmoucha3796 I now have 20,000 and have not had a single issue, still one of the best cars I have ever owned
Thank you
What crap, have the GV70, plenty of rear view and a backup camera that works great and sensors that warn you if anything is getting close. The instrumentation and buttons are simple unless you’re a moron. Great vehicle so far and my favorite ever.

Genesis is the poor-man’s Lexus
@@THEAC83 Uh no. Genesis has better tech, more comfortable, and better drivability. Lexus has better reliability and top level dealer experience. I’m a Lexus owner and test drove several Genesis models.
@@THEAC83 No. Equivalent models have like $3000 difference. Surely a "poor-man" can afford a Lexus if the same "poor-man" can afford Genesis.
Lexus are boring AF
Yeah this sounds like someone has a beef with genesis. I purchased a 22 g70 new new after I tried out the other “premium” brands in its class. I strongly recommend trying any of the new genesis models before you pay 10-20k more for another make.
This is the first time I've seen full out negativity towards the Genesis brand. I've seen people try them and say there are things that could be better or throw around ideas on what could be changed, but never just "don't buy this" like this video.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one still willing to stand by Genesis' side on this one
I’m a fan personally.
@@everymandriver I've been loving the genesis lineup recently as well
agree its very good car
but with electronic issues (like beeping when driver walks away when passengers inside)
I’ve been doing my research, joined the Genesis GV forum. There have been some instances of the car losing power (while driving) causing a dangerous situation! Some fuel pumps have been replaced but the problem has come back for some! I love the car, may just wait a couple years for all the kinks to be worked out!
They weren’t lying. My 23 gv70 only has 2,000 miles on it and it’s been giving me problems.
I just purchased a 2022 Genesis GV80 2.5T Prestige AWD 4 months back and this is already my 3rd genesis purchase. Previously owned a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 and 2018 G80 Sport. Not once have I had any issues with any of my genesis models. My 14.5 screen is so intuitive and the menus are really user friendly. I also believe Genesis is super confident in their product which is why it’s backed by the longest warranty in the industry. All I will ever own is Genesis and strongly disagree with CR
10yrs warranty is insane lol
Couldn't agree more we got my wife a GV70 a year ago and it's the nicest vehicle we've ever had and we've had multiple escalade and even test drove the latest one but gm doesn't like to honor their products when things like clear coat from the wheels peel off they like to say o it looks like rock chip did that which was absolute bs I have a list a mile long on it too and we bought that brand new in 17 it was a platinum nicest one u could buy at the time and It was a total pos never again. The genesis had blown our minds
That guy was probably paid by GM to say that mumbo jumbo because when people actually get out and see the Genesis models it's curtains on the... insert brand here.... other SUV. That really makes me mad that they have the nerve to give these vehicles poor reviews. You used to be able to trust journalism to some degree but now even consumer related things are bias. We recently purchased an Infinity QX50 after shopping our heads off going through every single small SUV that exists. It is my wife's car..the Qx, so the final decision was hers and although I love that little infinity, it pales in comparison to the Genesis Imo. She loves them both and she found a certified pre owned one year old with less than 10k Miles and an extended warranty to 100k mi past manufacturers for $15k less out the door! Thankfully she has better control than I do because I was still wanting to talk her into the GV70 🤣🤣 and it isn't mine to drive 😂😂.
Haha we have the same path…owned a 2016 Hyundai Genesis 4dr with the 3.8, 2018 Genesis G80 Sport Mallorca Blue and now a 2022 GV80 3.5T Prestige. 🎉
Congrats !
Competitors are clearly scared! Genesis is amazing. I've only owned BMW's and Audis (S and RS) and my next car will be a Genesis. Lower your prices and compete. Haha

Considering the fact that these vehicles have been on the market for 2 years now, and everyone, universally, has praised their vehicles, and CR is the first, and only, media outlet bashing them, the optics are bad for CR. They either are creating fake news, to get clicks and views, or there is something else afoot.
"Universally" praised the vehicle, LOL, except the one organization (CR) that accepts NO advertising money, and buys the vehicles, and tests them themselves, at their own testing facility. That way, they can give a true, unbiased opinion, along with surveys from real world owners. It's not CR, it's these other "rating" companies that are paid by the highest bidder to pump up their products. They're the fake news.
That part .... I couldn't agree more.
Yep
Cr is not good. That's one of the biggest issues from customers.
If we buy cars solely based on CR, we would all be driving Corollas, Camrys, or RAV4s.

Exactly
CR is no where as nice to Toyota either!
Lol damn thats boring
Controls are subjective. They are easy enough to get used to. Side window is a design element. Plus with the cameras equipped on the car they are not needed. In regards to reliability the 4 cylinder is a pretty robust engine all thru kia and hyundais lineup. Really think CR is just confused on what the car is supposed to do
I bought one and its fine; gv70;
Rear visability is fine
Controls and ergonomics are excellent
Idk about reliability i hope its fine; great thus far
Everything about the car is fine, consumer report just failed to use intelligent people to do their report, this is a car that when you indicate left or right, the camera shows you the side that was indicated on the screen, there's nothing wrong about the windows at the back especially the ones at the sides a lot of cars have windows like that and the windows at the sides were never meant to be used for visibility, that's why they need to do their report intelligently even cars that they praise like the lexus rx have windows by the sides, who uses them for visibility, the windows are almost exactly like that of the genesis or even worse, and like I said a lot of cars at that class have it, if not all, well I've never taken consumer reports seriously

It also has a blind spot camera for turning and changing lanes. Sounds like CR spent about 5 min. with this car.
Could not agree more, CR obviously did not spend adequate time with these SUVs. Aside from the fuel consumption which is not as efficient as some of its competitors, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing to complain about on visibility, controls/buttons, screens etc. on the contrary, I have driven a GV80 on busy highways, through dense city traffic, in/out of underground parking and through neighborhoods with narrow roads and cars parked on either side of the road. Visibility enhanced by the multiple camera systems was excellent and much safer than if trying to rely only on looking though a window.
I drive a Macan and a GV70. Macan is poor compared with GV70. Even obsolete. Maybe those who like to drive sporty and ignore the comfort would like Macan, but their passengers will be unhappy. GV70 is better insulated, better to use camera, better display, nice head-up display ( which is not existing at Macan) , better safety features, better interior .....and so on. Clearly Genesis will be real competition for germans who are thinking the name is enough to sell. No more.
If you visit quotes.everymandriver.com you can find the best deals/prices on new cars/trucks in your zip code! It’s a free site and it’s Everyman Driver Approved!
Sounds like you just need to configure a better Macan
You can have full leather interior, HUD, matrix lights, PASM, or even better engine (enhanced EA839 in the case of Macan), anything your heart desires, as long as you pay them money. All u have to do is pay more and you’ll get wayy more than Genesis could ever offer
@@jackz4149 HUD is not an option for Macan, only for Cayenne..............PASM yes..........but not visibility , interior and modernity like GV70 with much cheaper price and maintenance. If you like a car for taking curves with speed and this is the only option you love Macan can be a choice but you need to pay muuuuch more and spend more time for service because Porsche is not coming to your home.
@@Danny-tv6we it’s fine, it’s hard to go back once you’ve tried high end Volkswagen products (Cayenne Turbo, Audi RSQ8, Bentley Bentayga), everything else just feels lackluster and laughable in the way that they try to be luxurious but fall short significantly
Just bought a GV 70 Black 2.5 L with brown interior, plenty of power, the car is gorgeous, it drives like a charm, we have no issues with control nubs, the big screen is amazing too. It has 5 years of Warranty and valet service in Canada too.
Firstly, I have never, nor will ever buy a car based off of what Consumer Reports recommends. A blender or vacuum maybe, a car, uh no. I am on my second Genesis now and after 4 plus years, I have encountered ZERO ISSUES. Visibility concerns, absolutely not. If you can't figure out how to work the controls after a few minutes, it might be user error... The GV70 is an outstanding vehicle and if you're in the market for a luxury vehicle and a tremendous value, it is a must test drive at the very least.

The vehicle just came out this year how can they predict reliability????
1:06 Did you actually watch and listen to the video?
Did you watch or listen to video? LOL
@Everyman Driver My daughter has this vehicle and the rear visibility is fine, the suv is full of features so of course it's going to take time to adjust (just like any other high end vehicle). Silver on silver really? I researched the predicted reliability and everything says it's rated a 8.4out of 10. There's a camera on the dash (so you can see whats on either side of the vehicle) when the operator hits the blinkers and the car will actually push you back in the lane if it senses a vehicle. I find it interesting that your driving the vehicle however you're quoting CR concerning visibility. I also take note of the title of this video it's misleading. I use to watch this channel religiously.
i could have predicted that

Consumer reports making sweeping assumptions. Bizarre reviewing practice.
Wow...such nonsense from consumer reports. Looked like they went hunting for stuff that does not exist..🤣
HA
We have a '21 GV80 Advance+ in Cardiff Green with the TT3.5. We love it. We have about 20k miles on it and have had only a couple issues. The horn stopped working, and a piece of interior trim needed fixing. Everything was under warrantee and we paid nothing for the repairs. The controls aren't confusing if you take a few minutes to read the manual or watch the helpful RUclips videos from Genesis. Everywhere we go people compliment the styling and the cool green which we had to have. One would think Consumer Reports would be little better at figuring out controls and understand every brand has its quirks and differences. If you want a vehicle that's not a cookie cutter style get a Genesis.
I purchased a 2022 GV70 recently and my only complaint is I purchased the Sport Advantage model instead of the Sport Prestige model. If you are going with the 3.5 twin turbo, spend a little more and get the Sport Prestige upgrade. Believe me you will love it. The BMW and Audi brands are competitive but not at the Genesis price. These babies are sweet.
I would argue to differ a bit. I purposefully chose the Advantage (3.5) over the Prestige, for me the extra 5K wasn't worth what you get for it (but I totally understand to you, it probably was, just different strokes). I also like the fatter tires for a better ride quality. Sure, the Prestige will corner and handle the twisties a little better, but if that were really someone's main concern it might be wiser to purchase something other than a SUV. You are absolutely correct about the price. Originally, I had my heart set on a Merc GLC AMG43, which is more refined in terms of engine tuning and a few other things, but it's also 15 to 20K more. I was also concerned about long term maintenance costs with the Merc.
Basically Genesis didn’t pay Consumer Reports under the table for them to get a good review lol 😂 GV80 and GV70 are great cars

I’ve always liked the Genesis line of vehicles. I haven’t owned one so it hard to criticize what CR says about the vehicle. As far as blind spots are concerned I do believe all these models comes with cameras that can give you a view of any angle you might need, may take a little getting used to but once you know the system you shouldn’t have any trouble. Reliability is another area I’m not sure of since I’ve never owned one but with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty I would think they’d go broke if they had to make tons of warranty repairs. Like the Genesis line, just wish I made enough money to own one.

Haha consumer reports….The end to be all. Half the time they have no idea what consumers want anyway. The Genesis is more reliable than any European or Scandinavian SUV on the market. just as reliable as Lexus based on past reports. The only area where Genesis/ Hyundai/Kia fall short is in fuel economy. Other than that they are some of the best on the road.

To be honest Consumer Reports used to be the closest thing to the gold standard but in the recent past I have to say it seems like they are becoming less so.

FYI: the 2022 GV70 was named the 2022 Motor Trend SUV Of The Year. For some reason, Consumer Reports seems to be VERY biased AGAINST Genesis.
Also, didn’t you not too long ago (11 months ago - August 11, 2021, to be exact) give the GV70 a glowing review? This review is such an abrupt departure from that previous review. It feels like Consumer Reports is paying you to say these things about Genesis.
I wish you would take the time to listen fully instead of just looking at the Caption.. He's summarizing what consumer report is saying about it. Not what he thinks of it..
Bravo !!
Agreed. I see more reporting reports than providing his own takes.
@@ugcamige That’s EXACTLY my point: instead of summarizing his own thoughts on the vehicle, which he did in his review of the GV70 last August, most of this video is spent summarizing how Consumer Reports feels about these two SUVs. No disrespect meant to Dave, but if I wanted to know how Consumer Reports rates the vehicles they test, I would go to their website. I’m a subscriber to Dave’s RUclips channel because I’ve always enjoyed his reviews and his own personal opinions of the vehicles he tests.
One last thing David: I watched this video in its entirety and I’m fully aware that his comments were summarizing Consumer Reports opinion of the two SUVs, so don’t assume that I based my comments simply on reading a caption. Watch Dave’s review of the GV70 dated August 11, 2021 and you might understand why I made the comments about this latest video.
@@jgs1564 but he's already done a review on it. So repeating his thoughts again is kind of redundant.. Not alot of ppl have access to consumer report so his summary can be appreciated by some. As an automotive reviewer, it could get challenging coming up with consistent content so I can understand why he would choose to summarize what one major company thinks of it... For the record I disagree with consumer report on their stance. I think it's actually silly.. But I have no problem with his summary.
Regardless of CR’s review, the Genesis SUVs will sell all that the assembly line can produce. Look at the CR reliability charts based on real consumer surveys. Many vehicles with poor reliability records are still big sellers.
Reliability will remain a question until Genesis and Hyundai service operations will remain under a single roof. I own a G80 Sport. Then if the service manager is discriminative and ignorant, how can a car be considered reliable when it spends most time at a dealership than on the road?
Hmmm interesting
I drive a GV70 for 8 months and had no issues at all. Also, the statement about poor controls is not true :) I had no issues with controls and I find them much easier to navigate than BMW or Mercedes. The only issue I have with GV70 is the glaring from the heads up display which is caused by specific angle of the sun. Other than that all I can say is that I love driving it every day, amazing car for the money.

Every single call that I've ever liked consumer reports has ripped it to shreds. So the formula for me is if consumer reports hates it. I'm going to love it. I never take these guys seriously
I'm surprised at CR!
Clearly, one of the other car brands is,paying them to rip Genesis. BMW, Mercedes as well as Range Rover have models that are WORSE than the claims CR makes against Genesis. Jealousy will get you nowhere guys!
I was thinking the same exact thing.
Yep
CR is screaming, "Genesis, this is how we rate your cars when you don't give us advertising money!" CR is simply ridiculous. I have a 2022 GV70. I have no problem with the rear visibility and the difficulty of use of the controls is on par with other SUVs in the same class. They are far from being a deal breaker; maybe a little nuisance. It's been about a year since I bought it and not a single problem. For me this is the best SUV in its class. Shame on you CR!
Paul K-really??? CR accepts NO advertising money from ANY company. It is a non profit organization, that gets it money from donations, and subscribers of the magazine. Unlike JD Powers, and most of the other "rating" companies that put the highest bidder at the top. I was also very interested in a GV70, until I started reading the horror stories the new owners are having, in real life, in various forums. Electronics, rattles, poor workmanship. No parts for warranty work. Dealers that treat the customer like dirt. I hope your experience is much better, but I'm out. I'm not paying over 50 large for something that is going to give me problems, and the dealers are subpar at fixing them, if they can fix them at all. Good Luck.
CR doesn't take advertising money from anyone. That's the whole point of CR. You can disagree with CRs take but to suggest this is a play to get advertising money is just false. Go to their website. Look at their magazine. There's no advertising.
Hmmm
Guess it’s personal with you, eh?
Controls are nightmarish? Hyperbole much CR? I found them pretty intuitive after a short time in my GV70.
I just read some folks are having a hard time with limited slip differentials one GV70’s
and transfer cases
I have had gv70 for over 2 years now. Hands down the best vehicle i have owned. And i have had multile german brands before as well. Oh and btw first time ever i have positive equity in my car. Its holding its value like crazy.
I leased a Toyota CHR in Europe a couple months ago. Because of a similar design feature it had the same visibility issue---at first. But I got used to it after a couple of days and that's why it has blindspot indicators. I'm sure it's similar for these cars. Sometimes CR ratings make no sense to me.
I agree. Also, if you visit quotes.everymandriver.com you can find the best deals/prices on new cars/trucks in your zip code! It’s a free site and it’s Everyman Driver Approved!
The biggest and most compelling but not mentioned big difference is that the GV70' (all models) has screens that pop up on the tach and MPH (only upgraded models use both) area when turn signal is used that show what's beside and in back of you. There is no need to lose forward site while viewing rear site. So much safer and better viewing than small and large vehicle mirrors.
How’s the engine though?
So I am going to ask you as a analyst, when you do a review are you basing it as yours or Consumer Reports? Can you form your own opinion
You're funny.

Consumer Reports is like the Golden Globes. $$$ gets you good reviews.

My husband bought me one on Dec and it’s a 2022 GV80. I love it and I’m a F150 Silverado kinda girl. I do wish the truck space was a little more bigger. I’m looking at a GMC Denali but if Genesis could make a comparable SUV to Escalade, Navigator, Tahoe or Denali I would definitely purchase another Genesis. I’m techie and love all the features and use them often. ❤❤❤ I Highly Recommend!!
Genesis GV90 is on the way but I think it's going to be a EV
CR car reports are so biased at this point they’re not worth reading any more

wow, any chance you can keep your volume level? I had to adjust volume control.. but gave up. I stopped the video, I couldn't take it anymore and moved on
This proves the"awards" mean nothing. I remember Motor Trend declaring the Chevy Citation and the Rambler cars of the year!

Well I appreciate the time and content in this video, Consumer Reports is not the "end all be all" overall analysis. There are many other reputable sources to consider. Honestly, I may glance at Consumer Reports but over the years they have not been the forefront option in my decision making for products I buy. Also, I am a HUGE fan of the Genesis GV80. This vehicle is beyond luxurious. Go test drive one and then draw your own conclusions. Check out JD Powers Safety rating on this vehicle. Check out what happened to Tiger Woods with his car accident and how his life was saved because of the Genesis GV80 safety features.
1yr old babies know this
Really?
I'd keep in mind consumer reports does an initial study of reliability based on on consumer surveys, not actual data. JD power rate the Genesis brand 4th overall. I'd rather bet on Mechanics and Ward's 10 best.
Had the G70 3.5 for 1.5y. Great performance. Our 8y Lexus RX was hit with a $16k maintenance bill, 90k Km, no accidents - will never buy Lexus again.
The audio on this video is insane. Lower the levels dude!
What? Genesis GV80 is my favorite SUV I've owned. That includes BMW X5, Mercedes 450 and a my Infinity (I did like it but not as good). How anyone can slam Genesis is beyond me. It is a tier above the rest in the class. Haters gonna hate I guess. Too much technology is not a bad thing. Spend time learning it and you're life will be better as a driver.
Im going for the GV70 3.5 Prestige. That's after test driving the RX350 Acura MDX & RDX. Along with Subaru Acent, and the Mazda CX90 CX50.
I guess the other German and Japanese brands are finally getting nervous - paying off the CR to put off the Genesis haha
I like using CR for some data. But their evaluations of how cars drive is very far from what almost every other reviewer likes. I don’t drive a GV70 anymore, I switched to a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited, but the GV70 is the nicest car I’ve ever owned, period. Visibility is excellent. Safety is insanely good. I compared it to the BMW X3 M40i and chose the GV70. It’s also much more reliable than the GV80. It’s the perfect balance of sport and luxury. And again, I don’t even drive one anymore, because I decided to switch to an EV. But I loved it.
Would you go back now that there’s a EC GV70? I know is pricey though
I assume CR did not receive their graft from Hyundai. My wife owns a fully-loaded 2022 GV70. Fantastic vehicle. Me...well, I drive a 2020 Veloster N with a manual transmission; the only offering in 2020. That also appears to be indestructible. Hold on if you are my passenger.
that is what it seems.
I don't respect consumer reports at all. I have had four Genesis cars and they are excellent all around. CR is far too picky and not mentioning that Genesis has great safety features that make you a better driver. So I have no interest in what CR has to say about anything and this channel is just spewing the same opinion, not impressed! I have enjoyed this channel in the past but not anymore.
The gv70 is a recommended buy from consumer reports now.
Do they all catch fire like Kias and Hyundais?
Looks like suzuki jimny story, when it was given bad rating on purpose.
I also saw it in German magazines - they rate Asian goods as bad, even it's good.
I suppose it's domestic market protection.
I was passenger in G80 - and it's superb. Very smooth and quite suspension nice engine and AT.
I think the problems were on the first model years for some of their suv's I think of you purchase a '23 model those earlier problems won't be a issue. Outside of Lexus, it's kind of like any other new model or remodeled vehicles (you are going to have some problems)
Is it true Genesis vehicles start burning oil after 15,000 miles?
no
I have had a GV 80 for 5 months. Constant problems and I men constant problems. Bigger engine. Just has NOT been what I expected. Right now rear hatch won't work. Vibration at 35 MPH and road noise much worse than expected. Fuel economy on the road I do get 22 at 82. Traded a Highlander Limited. With I had it back.
Yes, this ‘review’ with negative not specified ‘consumer reports’ is obviously paid for by some competitor who’s getting scared. Must say I really like the line up!
Same CR that gave same vehicle with different badge significant different ratings.
I wonder how their love with Toyota is working out with all the turbo v6 failing
Calling BS on every con qouted in this video. Having driven the GV70 multiple times, its super intuitive infotainment, driving position, excellent 360 degree cameras for reversing, parking, the 6 cylinders are a hoot to drive and the interiors blow some of the boring German SUVs away. Not sure who consumer reports is using for reveiwing but shame on this video for lame alternative facts universe scare-review. No one looks out the 3rd window quarter panel while doing anything, this is 2023 smh ..
Consumer reports is wild for that. The controls are incredible, and the blind spots don’t matter because the blind spot cameras in the gauge cluster show you exactly what is in your blind spot. The GV70 has made it easier to see my blind spot than any other vehicle I have driven.
Just bought a GV80 Prestige Signature. It's the best car I've ever driven and I shopped all luxury brands. The warranty speaks for itself... it's really very simple and logical: well built cars can afford to have long term warranties.
Niceness aside, there are a lot of reports of Transfer Cases needing to be replaced on the GV70 within few 1000 miles, some even had to replace multiple times.
Must be a Detroit funded video. Genesis is a fantastic car. Anyone I know who has owned theme has told me they are the best car they have ever owned.
I've owned Genesis cars and a 2021 was my latest one. I have to concur his assessment of the current generation. Electronic issues, brakes and rotors wear quickly, and the dealership service is absolutely atrocious. If they improved vehicle quality and service, I would come back
The scary part is what you don’t see. Hyundai is notoriously known for failed engines usually after the 100k miles mark.
Award winning vehicles and all those problems. Looks like someone just don’t want genesis to win.
cool video. thank you

Consumer reports hating on Genesis because they’re doing so well. The Koreans are killing it right now.
I take anything written by CR with a grain of salt
It's still worth listening to.
@@everymandriver Oh definitely, I didn't mean any offense to you, Dave 🙂
I have a 22' GV70 3.5L SPORT PRESTIGE. I've driven it for 1 yr & 10 months (31,000 miles). I love it! There is nothing confusing about the controls at all. You can use the screen or the separate menu (1push) buttons below it. The menu choices are easy to understand and simple too. The car is saturated with cameras that surround the car. There is no need to look back via mirrors or windows. Put on your turn signal and right in the speedometer and tach area is a display of what's beside you and coming up to you. The visuals are better than any mirror I've used. All saved to each programmed driver's liking. The review mirroring and sensors easily work great too. You falef to mention this. Why be so deceitful? I've owned 23 different new cars. By far this is the best! Like any new model of any brand, there are small things that may need fixed but overall, I would buy it again. Take it from someone who has owned it and driven it to it's max limit to test it (148 mph felt like 80 mph). It handles better on corners than any SUV I've owned. Don't let this man's review deceive you.
Consumer Reports is just not a good source of information for automotive vehicles, period. If you want to see if an SUV or any vehicle is better than others, use multiple sources and compare them YOURSELF.
I disagree
@@everymandriver They’re just kinda hit or miss at times. They’re wrong about Genesis vehicles. They’re actually good. Every time they go for the heart of a segment, they draw blood.
The controls in the GV70 is much better than the GV80, IMHO. That’s why I got the GV70. The infotainment system is easy to use, once you get used to it.

I bought a GV 70 Electrified and this vehicle had a malfunction after 3 days of ownership. The malfunction was due to a rear inverter failing and the rear motor failing, where-as the mechanic discovered burnt residue within the motor. After replacing said parts, they decided to test drive the vehicle for 131 miles, without notifying me or requesting authorization. This increased my odometer by 36%.
Every step of the way was a complete hassle. The Genesis of America service advisor (Khoi) claims he has no idea about the requirements to fix this vehicle and claims he did not know about the road test, yet when calling the service advisor, she claims that she told him before Khoi called me.
I believe this company is trying to hide this issue on the first iteration of this car because it will be costly to initiate a recall which will skew their earnings on this specific vehicle. I would recommend that no one buys their electric vehicles as their Hyundai Ioniq 5 is equally as terrible as a vehicle.
The Ioniq 5 driving assistant tool over powers the steering wheel while in use. This same vehicle also has the collision assistance that would notify the driver while the vehicle is completely stopped at a light and another car moves in an adjacent lane.
I just bought a brand new grandhighlander!! Hope it will be reliable!!! 😬
I own a GV70 and can honestly say it''s the best car I have ever owned. CR editors seem to get a hard on anytime they rate a Toyota product.
I ❤ my GV70. I want another one actually!
if only have powerful AWD like the land rover evoque
I'll wait until then with EV version with range over 550 km
