As an adventures player since eldraine came out this makes me happy! Once you get a flow for it, like the old cat oven, I feel like it becomes less tedious in most games. I’m riding a 79% win rate over nearly 100 games this season and have a few versions of the list from super tuned to a janky nyxbloom go infinite version. AVERAGE to ELITE the shell is very tight so you want all the adventure creatures, inn keepers, clovers and escape as a package. For bo1 to be balanced for aggro I only play 2 escape which is probably a little risky but the result is an extra flex spot. This is where I slot klothys. The other 3 spots I’ve tried shark typhoons, uro, of one mind, counters, unsubtantiate, burn sweepers, gadrak, the great henge and questing beast among other fun things which all do it a little differently and can make for some interesting board states. Hey CGB! I just started playing Arena about 2 months ago, your Rakdos Sacrifice video was one of the first ones I watched... Where you said that some version of it was the strongest deck in the format... I saved up all my wildcards, spent money on gems to buy packs, to finally assemble it... and 3 days later, Familiar was banned, LOL... So, now that you've called this the strongest deck in the format... Which card(s) are going to get the ax this time? lol
I've played a couple games with this deck since I've been looking to swap from mono red. I have ended a few of them by flinging a beefy beanstalk giant at a tapped out opponents face(im always gonna be a red mage at heart,) Ugin and his board wipe is seriously a game saver. Being able to reset the board against big beefy and sometimes flying creatures and an opponent with an empty hand is awesome.
Thanks CGB! I've been alternating between this and your blue devotion deck with great success but I needed help with my sideboard. I got a few good ideas from this video. I consider myself your disciple now. I should figure out how patreon works. The only decks that I'm having trouble with are mutate decks with gemrazers.
@@averagetoelite856 Same rank. You only get two ranks, one for constructed (including historic, standard, and M21) an one for limited. I got to platinum playing mono red. But then I started watching CGB and now I am ashamed to play mono red.
I think I like Barrier Breach (2G - Exile up to three enchantments) over Mystic Repeal in the Wish Board. It's much more expensive, so harder to get out in one turn, but if you are against an enchantment heavy deck like mill or W with Banishing Lights the ability to get multiple enchantments is really nice.
I play this deck very often and added not one, but two Ugin’s to my sideboard... when you look for a card with Fae Of Wishes via a Lucky Clover and bring out 2 Ugin’s the opponent conceded almost 90% of the time.
how can anybody call temur adventures monotonous? Sure, sometimes you just have a good midrange draw and run the opponent over with lovestruck and bonecrusher, but the longer, grindier matches (especially the mirror, involving multiple clovers) are very skill intensive and require a lot of planning, counting mana, and careful sequencing. I have been playing this deck since eldraine came out and deciding what to grab with fae while being under a lot of pressure from multiple angles is still very difficult and interesting.
I have played this deck and against it quite a bit. It is not a broken deck (folds to sweepers and repeatable discard, like say: a Orzhov Yorion deck and haste tribal is a real issue too. It is very fun to play (,tho I like Golgari Adventures more, tho it isn't as competitive). It can be fairly monotonous to play AGAINST, however.
Try abzan adventures, add in the Shepherd en RCGiant, no deck can counter de boardwipes on the clover stack. Late game you can use a ECB multiple times on one turn with the Shepherd.
They only reason Clover has not been banned yet is the fact that it's incredibly hard to play honestly Even now people jumping on it because it's hot, then go back to mono red because they can't handle more than two decisions per turn (having absolutely broken shit like rec and fires also held it back)
Not really. The meta doesn't use it. That's why it hasn't been banned yet. In my climb to Diamond I only played one other Temur Adventure and then another Variation but using Black. So not Temur.
I've got Barrier Breach in my sideboard for shrines and aura decks that I keep facing. Also great henge is good in side in case they keep removing innkeeper and u have the creatures still to cast.
My 2021 Abzan deck specifically preys on this deck. Chevil+Mythos of Nethroi, 4 pestilent haze, 4 Return to nature, 4 cling to dust, Gargaroths and Garruk Huntsman.
Containment priest doesn't really do anything against this since the cards are still technically 'cast', just from exile. Drannith magistrate does shut down playing cards from exile though.
I got american fliers put my 3 narset of the ancient way 4 bean stalks 4 pheonixs of ash 4 skycats 4 everquils 4 elspeths 2 shatters 4 dream thrawlers 2 destroya perfect life forms 2 sarkhans 3 fae of wishes 2 inspired ultimatiums me my buddies did a tounrament and he ram temur adventure he came first i came second his only loss was me. 2-1 3rd game came down to the last few life so it's as tough as this temur and I'd like to see you give it a try and look through. Side board 2 ugins 2 terferi masters of time 2 sarkhans.
Btw there is no Negate anymore in 2021 right now. So the only Spells that remain for 2021 with 2 Mana that counter Plainswalkers would be Lofty Denial. Or Mystical Dispute if the Plainswalker would be Blue or other Blue Spells for 1 Mana. For 2 Mana only Sorc/Inst and Creature Counters remain. Special Place for Drown into the Loch for 2 Mana B/U. For 1 Mana Miscast only for Sorc/Inst. 1/2 Mana counters for non-creatures is pretty shit atm.
Isn't it funny how this entire list (minus Mana base) is basically a limited deck? An absurdly overpowered limited deck with mostly 4 of's, but still. I never played the format, but I can only imagine how crazy Eldraine Sealed must be. lol how does that even make sense, that a deck which is comprised exclusively out of cards from ONE set can be so competitive vs. decks that use and need cards from sets all over standard?
TBH, I like Temur Adventures. I'm one of those folks that likes seeing giant stompy cards and honestly likes seeing a bit of aggro. I'd like to see MonoRed be more burn based as that's what I grew up with (Fireball! Lightning bolt! Fork!) and would like that (and giant dragons) be the defining identity of Red. Plus... I hated blue for so long... but it turns out I didn't hate blue, I hated that my brother was cheating with it. Now I realize it wasn't blue's fault, it was the cheater's fault. I stopped hating blue, and now just hate the cheater.
I've been pondering this for a while....Temur Adventures quickly became the staple adventure deck, but why haven't any other color combinations made any traction as a good adventures deck. The great thing about the clover is that it can go into any deck that makes use of adventures, so why no other color combos. It seems that black and white just may not have good enough cards? The best black adventure would be what Murderous Rider? While copying the effect to kill might be nice, I'm assuming few would want to loose 4 or 6 life a shot to do it.....would love to see someone try something other than Temur....
the issue is that escape to the wilds is a huge part of what makes this deck so busted, so you already have to be red/green, and adding blue gives you access to borrower and fae of wishes, which are definitely better and more flexible than anything white or black have to offer in terms of adventure creatures. The issue with rider is: When you dont have anything to kill, its a 3 mana 2/3 (compare it to bonecrusher, a 3 mana 4/3) and even when you do have stuff to kill, against aggro you really often cant afford to pay 4 life to kill 2 things
So, what deck beats Temur Adventures, and what needs to be banned if there isn't one? It feels pretty much unbeatable in Bo1 and I really can't see anything that can be built to beat it. Whirlwind Denial and Sublime Epiphany slow Granted down, but they just play and bounce the Fae; Drannith Magistrate gets bounced or copy-Stomped. Clover is a lot like Oven; it's a bad card without the synergies in the deck, and there is no removal worth playing on it that won't cost you so much tempo you lose the game.
I am so tired of playing against this deck. Played against this exact deck twice in the last 30 minutes. I lost the first one to a 15/15 Beanstalk Giant sac'd to a fling. Oof. Second game the guy wished for an Ugin, and just as he went to -5, I played flicker of fate on my Yorrion, then with his ETB I exiled two omen of the sea, one banishing light, my Thassa, 1 Elite guardmage, and 1 Dovin's acuity. On his end step I took his Ugin with my banishing light etb. He may as well have board wiped into a Teferi's protection. He still had Lucky clover on the battlefield, and he made 6 1/1 soldier tokens, then cast three lovestruck beasts. I played Deputy of detention on the 1/1 tokens, then Sublime Epiphany'd his Beanstalk giant attempt on his next turn, making a copy of Deputy, taking the three beasts. Immediate scoop. Feels good man.
yea but then now you're stuck with a lackluster body that can still be dealt with unlike the clover in most scenarios, and with the innkeeper, casting them as creatures is still just as good, although it might we worth it idk.
@@getlooky736 with this Deck you have lots of Lands because of Beanstalk Giant. So it is not difficult to have thirteen Mana available. Colossification is no dead draw because it is in the Sideboard. I only fetch it lategame with Fae of Wishes when i can go for the kill. I play this with Counterspell Backup, or when Opponent is tapped out. @@averagetoelite856 That would be hard. But my sideboard is quite different, I don't use Ugin. I have The Great Henge in my main deck. The biggest weakness with Temur Adventure is the difficulty with dealing with opponents' flyers so I put Gemrazers in there. I also have Ashiok's Erasure in my side deck to handle the red white cycling decks. For Zenith Flare.
Just built it and can't wait wait to annoy the s**t outta ppl 😈😈😈😈 TYVFM i love decks like this. I had a mana destruction in Ravnica Update: I love this deck. Got caught and lost control once but was able to make it up next move Plus I recovered control in 2 after that then he/she conceded

Having played against this deck a million times, and gotten the better of it the vast majority of them with aggro decks, it's definitely not broken. In fact it's incredibly dependent on getting both a clover in play early and multiple doubled activations Stomp and Petty Theft to keep up. Without that it basically has no chance. And its top end is pretty weak compared to ramp decks. So, sure it's a nice, fun, solid deck. And that's it.

I consider myself your disciple now. I should figure out how patreon works. The only decks that I'm having trouble with are mutate decks with gemrazers.
You think this deck is good in bo1. And for getting from plat to diamond?
@@averagetoelite856 It has worked well for me in standard 21 BO1 ranked. I am slowly climbing diamond.
@@lifeisawesome1391 is the ranking different for standard 21 than for normal play? Bo1 or can I jump in and keep my normal rank
@@averagetoelite856 Same rank. You only get two ranks, one for constructed (including historic, standard, and M21) an one for limited. I got to platinum playing mono red. But then I started watching CGB and now I am ashamed to play mono red.
Lucky clover ban incoming after rotation?
I think I like Barrier Breach (2G - Exile up to three enchantments) over Mystic Repeal in the Wish Board. It's much more expensive, so harder to get out in one turn, but if you are against an enchantment heavy deck like mill or W with Banishing Lights the ability to get multiple enchantments is really nice.
Why not put a couple of Embereth Shieldbreakers somewhere in the 75?
Ive cut one lovestruck beast and added 2 great hanges and i love it, the life gain is something the deck lacks and more value is allways good.
It also doesn't do well against Flyers which is why I added Gemrazers.
You think this deck is good in bo1. And for getting from plat to diamond?
Try abzan adventures, add in the Shepherd en RCGiant, no deck can counter de boardwipes on the clover stack. Late game you can use a ECB multiple times on one turn with the Shepherd.
@@phattystraps6668 who do you mean me?
They only reason Clover has not been banned yet is the fact that it's incredibly hard to play honestly
Even now people jumping on it because it's hot, then go back to mono red because they can't handle more than two decisions per turn
(having absolutely broken shit like rec and fires also held it back)
At 29:40 I think the phrase you were looking for was, "don't raze me bro"
Great sense of humor. :)
How playable is this in historic or explorer?
What would be a ban to make it fall in line? Fay of Wishes seems obvious but banning it wouldmkinda fuck over any decent Control setups out there
How do you get such bad opponents at 96% mythic and i get sweaty pros at gold
That 8 stomps for the finish in the last game, brutal
what is the 15th SB card
330 music from heroes 3?
My 2021 Abzan deck specifically preys on this deck. Chevil+Mythos of Nethroi, 4 pestilent haze, 4 Return to nature, 4 cling to dust, Gargaroths and Garruk Huntsman.
How does your deck fair against control or any of the big ramp decks?
Is Song of Creation not better than Escape to the Wilds? Why?
I did just realize that Jace and Clear the Mind as self-mill protection sideboard options do rotate out for 2021, So I guess that's a thing.
They separate the lands that don't have haste in case you want to animate them. That's why CGB.
Cool CGB great deck.
Thanks!
I wonder if containment priest is going to see main deck play after rotation. What other cards/strats hate on this deck?
Containment priest doesn't really do anything against this since the cards are still technically 'cast', just from exile. Drannith magistrate does shut down playing cards from exile though.
and the magistrate is bounced or crushed. doesn't do a thing
I misremembered the text :P I was thinking of the magistrate the whole time. But yeah. It's not a great counter.
This deck is also literally all from one set. It's absurd. How in the world do you not playtest this? This'll still exist post rotation!
brianv3ntura I agree, this deck has been out forever and was very average. the only reason it’s starting to seem so broken is because of the rotation.
CGB this is an awesome channel.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy it.
Sleep in the sideboard is also really fun to fetch 👍
how about mass manipulation in sideboard?
Mass manipulation isnt rotation proof
You think this deck is good in bo1. And for getting from plat to diamond?
Well golgari adventures was pretty competitive for quite a time and it is still a good deck.
the issue is that escape to the wilds is a huge part of what makes this deck so busted, so you already have to be red/green, and adding blue gives you access to borrower and fae of wishes, which are definitely better and more flexible than anything white or black have to offer in terms of adventure creatures. The issue with rider is: When you dont have anything to kill, its a 3 mana 2/3 (compare it to bonecrusher, a 3 mana 4/3) and even when you do have stuff to kill, against aggro you really often cant afford to pay 4 life to kill 2 things
I just played against you the other day, shamelessly with mono red. Lost hard lmao
He really hates mono red, lol. No mercy for the red mages usually
I want to play him with my dogs.
This makes me do that when ever i found a 4 leaf clover in my garden i will burn everything with napalm. No regrets.
Please do Golgari Adventures next time, with Garruk planeswalker. I prefer using cursed huntsman, not sure if the M21 works well too.
I figured adventures is what would be played in this format. Actually kinda happy to have em full force back.
Clover is a lot like Oven; it's a bad card without the synergies in the deck, and there is no removal worth playing on it that won't cost you so much tempo you lose the game.
try grull adventures ;)
Funny thing about this deck when I play it is Arena refuses to let me draw a clover....
Cool. Tried once on paper a similar version. Don't have enough WC to do it in Arena, though. LMAO with the mono red players xD.
Man, I fucking LMAO at 39:00.
Ok I just played against another one...This is absolutely ridiculous.
Saw this video AFTER being crushed by this deck on ladder...
Noted: CGB creates Arena meta
Also noted: I hate thus deck
I hate this deck so much
Am I the only one having rage against the machine in mind because of the title?
Yup, nearly went to watch rage before this, but that is crazy talk
I predict Drannith magistrate is going to start getting used to try and shut down the entire engine
yea but then now you're stuck with a lackluster body that can still be dealt with unlike the clover in most scenarios, and with the innkeeper, casting them as creatures is still just as good, although it might we worth it idk.
I have Colossification in my Sideboard. This is a nice instant kill together with Fling :D
I have won many games with this and it's nice to see 20+ Damage going to the Face :D
Yesterday i played vs. an opponent who used Unlesah Fury. Thats also nice and it costs only 2. But you can use it only on Beanstalk Giant. I included both to my Sideboard now. One time i got 80 Damage to the Face XD
Has anyone thought about naya adventures???
I am not saying anything about the deck list, it’s just I was asking if anyone was thinking about it
It's ridiculous. Out of 10 games I've played today, 6 have either been this deck or the land izzet deck.
Why is everyone underestimating Tale's End? It is two mana and you can counter every legendary, Planeswalker and even activated abilities like shark.
Please make a historic temur adventures
Day 52/750 of asking CGB to play a deck around Dream Trawler Magic Mirror and the new Teferi Draw more enchantment
Super strong deck no doubt.
Lucky Clover at 2 colorless mana is ridiculous. Card should cost 4 imo.
And honestly fae of wishes is bonkers.
i always get rekt by this deck, watching this would help a lot on how to play against this deck
I tried this deck in ranked and can't get it over 30% win chance - I must be making some horrible mistakes but can't figure out what. I guess this just isn't for me
Are you playing in the 2021 playlist and also this is in my opinion and advanced level deck to manage takes time to learn.
@@averagetoelite856 Thanks, no, I played in Standard! I'll give it a try in 2021 later, that could be part of it
@@averagetoelite856 Just tried it for a few games in 2021 - wow, what a difference suddenly I win almost every game, thanks again for the hint - should have read the title of the video,...
@@malteschultjan9856 my pleasure brother .
I have been revisiting doom foretold decks with a more artefact Tezzeret twist. (solem simulacrum whas a great adition)
I call it "Ron's broken wand", the funniest thing is sacrifice and recast Retributive wand every turn.
I have defeted more or les everithing if the deck "behaves".
And yesterday I played agaisnt temur adventures, what a pain, I got it more or les controled from the begining and it keep coming back.
It doesnt need to comit to the board, he casted 1 Escape to the Wilds, and 3 Ugins.
I had to exile his Ugin and steal it with Ashiok ultimate, + danse of the manse X10 to be able to win the game.
(The worst thig of Escape to the Wilds its that is buge dnad queep showing al the cards as castable so you dont reali now wat si the adventure card that eh can play and wat is the obsolete trash that has been siting there for a wile)
This temur adventures is stupidly tough and flexible.
Oh, I thought that fling will rotate.
Just got to Diamond with a variation of this.
Could you share the variation with me?
@@averagetoelite856 That would be hard. But my sideboard is quite different, I don't use Ugin. I have The Great Henge in my main deck. The biggest weakness with Temur Adventure is the difficulty with dealing with opponents' flyers so I put Gemrazers in there. I also have Ashiok's Erasure in my side deck to handle the red white cycling decks. For Zenith Flare.

Just built it and can't wait wait to annoy the s**t outta ppl 😈😈😈😈 TYVFM i love decks like this. I had a mana destruction in Ravnica
Update: I love this deck. Got caught and lost control once but was able to make it up next move Plus I recovered control in 2 after that then he/she conceded
Boom!
Move your big glorious brain out of the way CGB! We can't see your sideboard! Just move it to the left a little and it won't block anything. Or just make yourself tiny... we'll survive... trust me.
