I recently got into magic a few months ago and was looking for people to watch on RUclips. I stumbled across your channel and watch mostly all your videos on a daily basis. What I like most and learn the most from you is you talk out loud on your thought process. It's helped me grow my game and enjoy watching. Thanks
Same here! I've started with eldraine, building some weird decks & buying PW-Decks for fun. Nothing worked. With CGB i started to understand the meta, how to build decks & got so much more into the actual game. Love that guy!
Same. Some friends got me into paper magic a year ago and while I don't play paper at all really, I've been playing Arena for the full year. I have played at least 50% of the days in the past year. I'm only subscribed to CGB, MTGA Original Decks, and just this week I subbed to LegenVD (because his variety and video style are similar to CGB). I love how CGB really thinks through his plays and does the math, and more importantly, shows off a wide variety of styles, and shows off a great amount of deckbuilding skills.
I got back into MTG again after 10 years (due to covid, trying to entertain myself), I'm learning a lot of new things, and that can be very overwhelming. But I love your channel and the way you explain everything, your train of thoughts. I'm really learning with you! I love even when you lose some games, it's part of playing, and that's how you learn. So keep up the great content!
Honestly, Wish more people watched him even people that are seasoned players can learn things about knowing your meta. Coming from Paper his knowledge was invaluable when starting arena, and I have been playing magic just as long as he has.
Hey man, I know mean comments can really hurt sometimes and it can be hard to just brush it off, but just know most of us here support you and enjoy your content. You're still easily *my* favourite MTG content creator, so keep it up my guy! :)
Hey CGB, hope you get to read this. I wanted to say, I watch your videos almost daily, and actually look forward to them. I live half a world away, in another country, speaking another language and playing Bo3 in MTGA. In a way, we couldn't be more different. However, your videos have become an integral part of my routine during these quarantine days, and I imagine many people are in a similar situation. To have someone working so hard every day for people to have some company is something very valuable. It always is, but in the state of the world today, it is so even more. So, please disregard all that violence and noise coming your way. What you do is great, just today I recommended your videos to someone who is interested in getting better at Magic because you explain so well your plays. I also notice that you're constantly thinking how to improve your channel. All this speaks of a person who wants to do good things. Don't let the worst part of humanity let you down. I know it can be difficult sometimes. But what you are doing with your videos is something very positive for many people. That's what matters the most. Keep it up!
Watching you helps distract me from the world, if but only for an hour. You always bring me back to a time when the world was a simpler place. Never stop being you, my 90's kid spirit animal.
Keep up the good work! I know the bad comments get you someway, its not possible or at least not always to shove them away, but you are a great content creator and an amazing MTG player! I've learned a lot from your videos and it's always entertaining to watch them and play the decks I don't need to craft a lot of cards lol
As someone who has experience uploading content for people online, it is all the more clear to me how tenacious you are with your consistent upload schedule, CGB. It is impressive and inspiring to see you keep up the pace. I also know how much of a joy it can be when you see genuinely heartfelt comments from people who like what you do, so this one's out for you. I may not be able to offer much, but if I can make your day by reminding you of what a swell, handsome hunk of a Mono Red destroyer you are, then it is time well spent for my favorite MtG content creator.
Didn‘t know there was a one-time-donate link... Felt like the amount of time I enjoyed watching you play MTG called for giving you something in return. Glad to know I participated :) Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪🤙🏻
Is he refering to the comments in that Bad Boy Gaming video cause most of them were ridiculous. I've never really seen CGB as arrogant or rude. Mostly I just see him as really good at the game and really helpful in explaining his deck building and his plays in game. Its been a ton of help for a new player like myself.
You're awesome CGB! Been watching you since you had a deck about Dimir Surveil which really helped me a lot getting into the mechanics of things in magic. Been watching consistently since then, mostly because it's entertaining. You're doing a great job.
I can always rely on this channel to help me out when I'm feeling down. I come here not only for the MTG content and knowledge, but also for the humor and how relatable you are. Keep on keeping on.
We love you CGB! Easily my fav MTG arena youtuber and as a f2p player I love seeing all the cards I dont have! keep up the good work, and we'll keep up the support
CGB, I found your channel very recently (watching for about a month and just subscribed, because I'd apparently forgotten.) I must say that I love your content! as an MTG content creator, you're very calming and wonderful to listen to, the explanations you give for all of your plays or the decks you are running are wonderful and I'm sure are very helpful to newer players. Thank you so much for continuing to make content, I look forward to seeing more!
I felt incredibly stupid when I did that hahahhhaaa it's waaaay funnier to know it was recorded. It's like watching me falling to the floor in slow motion.
Hey CGB, I love your content, especially the overtime Blue/White stuff. And this is coming from a guy who has been introduced to Magic as a Goblin tribal mage. No need to fast forward. It's pure fun to see you in your element when you draw and say go. Keep it up as long as you enjoy it. We'll be here to support you.
Keep up the great work, to me you are one of the most reliable and interesting content creators for MTG Arena out there. I mainly play Bo3 Standard, but I still get a lot of new ideas, as well as a new perspective of the meta in Bo1 on your channel.
I recently started watching you, and I got nothing but mad respect dude. You might have been joking about the "here for you on your darkest days" part, but it's true for me and probably a lot of other people. You're making a difference in peoples lives. Keep on being you man.
I just want to say that out of most of the other MTGA content creators I enjoy to watch CGB is really cool for me personally. Very tactical, very collected. And the content is lengthy. Just the way uh-huh, uh-huh I like.
41:23 Arena freezes randomly all the time on me and my opponent is forced to wait. Maybe he has the same thing going on? I've actually lost games before that I was way ahead in by timing out this way.
Well since Joey aka Bad Boy Gaming seems to be a manchild with the maturity to boot, it's a breath of fresh air to watch someone who isn't a lepton...keep doing great work CGB the community loves the content
I just started to play Magic a few weeks ago. Your videos and decklists really helped me getting into it! You are doing an amazing job and never fail to amaze and entertain. Keep it up!
CGB I think you have the best analysis of all the you tubers, you are also clear and easy to understand. Some other YT's try to appeal to different audience and can be a-holes. You have enough humor and personality to go with your best in class explanation of your play. You need not change anything, you are putting out a truly excellent product, Cheers to CGB !
Thank you for making a shrines deck! I agree that it's pretty silly but I just can't help loving them ever since Kamigawa. I love your control deck content the most, but playing decks you don't like is usually a close second haha
CGB, you are the man. He is totes jelly. The man has more subscribers than you, but people don't watch his videos. The only thing really wrong with the video is how he managed to be deadpan for 55 minutes. He didn't even crack a joke. Whatever, SHRINES! YAY!
I Was inspired to subscribe despite not knowing my login info after 6 years of not logging in. That roast video pissed me off, that guy is not a good magic player he does random stuff and messes up left and right. I reached top 1200 constructed for the first time ever by watching your videos the past couple of months. I have always been a good player, but i don’t think I have improved for years until watching you. I find myself being more careful and calculated in my lines looking at the possible outcomes the way you would. You are the first streamer who has actually made me a better player. Funny thing is i thought you were arrogant the first time i watched you, but you were just right about so many plays that i had to keep watching. Eventually, I realized it is mostly playful and it is one of my favorite things about your personality. I hope you don’t let videos and comments keep you up at night, but instead think of the players you have helped like me. :)
from a consistent member of the cool kids club, i always enjoy the content. keep up the good work. also, that last opponent had to deal with murder hornet infestation, for sure...
Don't let anyone get you down Buddy! I come back to this channel, not just because you help me understand decks... but, because as a person you are the fine being I try to be... I know that sounds corney but I mean it sincerely I swear
Having someone roast you like bad boy gaming means you've mad it. You're so popular that people have to rag on you. Lol. Keep up the good work, don't change a thing!
You know being laid up with an injury for the last few months if it wasn't for your channel I probably would be able to deal as well as I have. You have excellent content, thoughtful observations and extremely consistent high level play. Thank you for doing what you do. The naysayers are just peanut butter and jealous.
You are my favorite youtuber, not even only magic, in general. Love the content and the dedication. Id love to see a janky deck using teferis tutelege, gadwick and magic mirror haha
Bit of genuine advice here - when I ran a Sanctum deck, I combined it with a Mutate deck, and used that to super-ramp towards Sanctum of All by repeatedly mutating the Migratory Greathorn and pulling land after land after land.
Yours is the only content I always watch. I enjoy the others, LVD, Merchant, hellogoodgame, mtgjeff, but I'm a koolkid and a subscriber. I love the shrines deck. I crafted mine with gates. I'll probably rework it for rotation. There are just some match-ups you can't win. But some, if the cards fall right its sooo much fun.
The roast was funny, but you are by far my favorite streamer, I get so much from watching your vids, my overall game has gotten much better watching and more importantly listening to your vids. Please keep it up...
Never doubt yourself bro, what most see as insightful guidance some will see as condescending intellect. Cant please everyone and sadly its usually the rustled few that voice their insignificant opinions.
Been playing this in the Play queue since I saw it in your Aetherhub deck lists. So much fun. Didn't have all three Calix, so I subbed two Nissa. Also didn't have Clarion so subbed Flame Sweep. Not as consistent, I'm sure, but I love playing it. Thank you for this deck!
I had a severe workplace injury back in February and with COVID I have not been able to return to work due to vulnerable family members, for me these have been dark days but every day I look forward to watching your videos, thanks a lot for doing what you do
Thanks for staying positive. You are a good oasis from negativity and hate for many people. I also appreciate that you teach people how to deal with salt by being venerable on stream.
Thats wild someone thought the need to roast you! I havent been watching your content for long (just recently got into magic), but youre already my go to guy for learning the ins and outs of competitive magic. Also, you seem like a good dude. You fundraise for charity, have engaging streams and content, and all around general positivity (except towards mano red lol)! Sounds like you took the criticism with grace and dignity and thats admirable, even if it was undeserved. Keep it up man! Love your content!
All that "true" magic players tend to despise BO1, but it is fun, why do they deny it? I've been watching you for nearly 2 years (mostly on twitch) and I'm glad MTG community has YOU to provide this cool content for us. THANK YOU for everyday hard work, it's amazing! Your sense of humour, mimics, manner to comment and especially music preferences in combination make you my favourite MTGA content creator:) Don't ever let your confidence to shake ^.^
19:10 After you make 2 white mana with the Shrine, you can simply tap the Forest, spend the 2W/1G mana on Cultivate, grab a Plains card and any other basic land, and then put the other basic land onto the battlefield tapped. That way, you can put the Plains onto the battlefield untapped, and so now you have all the mana required for Time Wipe. #maths
I know that this will probably be lost in the comments, but I’ve recently started watching your videos to help me in mtg. I lost my dad due to COVID a few weeks ago and got back into magic to help me kill my brain and get through it. Your videos have helped me with that and I appreciate the content you do. Don’t let other people get to you, you do you and don’t let anyone else bring you down for who you are.
CGB I really appreciate your content mate. Haven't played for a while but your decks and it's explanation got me back on track recently 🙂 thank you for what you doing.
@@covertgoblueThank you for the reply mate. I really enjoy your deck from the video HOW TO CRUSH MONO RED (green white aura with Setessan Champion). And....yes I hate Mono Red :D What an epic deck. Always having fun with it. Maybe its time to take it for a spin and see where to improve it after 6 months.
I have all of the peices for Teamur adventures and I am having fun with having a top meta deck for once. The versatility from the side board keeps games interesting and I feel in all match ups.
I didn’t really read any mean comments because i just don’t pay much attention to those things but cgb if u read this, like i think your the fucking man. Like i started watching this channel a month ago and i dont think i’ve ever liked a content creator as much i like you. Lots of people are good at mtg, but theres a reason ur so popular, which i think is because u have a great no-bullshit, fun, competitive, friendly but kinda prickly personality. And thats great. You also definitely dont let your fans run over you, and thats the mark of not only a good youtuber, but also a good leader for a gaming community. I honestly have no idea who is saying what about you thats rude, but like i think its probably totally ridiculous, and i think ur crushing it and deserve way more 100K subs
I assume there are better places to ask about MTGA Assistant but: How are the meta decklists made? I'm looking at the monowhite healing list (called "Orzhov" because of Lurrus) and it has no colorless lands yet plays two Daxos, two Orator. Isn't Daxos strictly better if all your mana is white? It also plays one Idyllic Grange and 23 plains, no Castle Ardenvale. Is this some kind of average of similar decks?
I legitimately don't think BBG meant any harm win he made that video. However, he did come off as a little rude in my opinion. Does anyone know if he was trying to be so mean? Though he did do some things that you do, most of what he did was WAY more dramatic. Anyway, love both of you guys, keep up the fantastic work!!
Hey Cgb, You're message at the start of the video made me feel sad, I love your content and I always watch it every single day. Life isn't easy and just being able to watch an episode before I go to bed makes it all the better. I don't care if you win or lose I always have fun watching you play magic. I don't understand that someone wouldn't enjoy what content you make or why they would make you feel bad. You're doing so many of us greatness that I cannot put into words. Thanks for making my day everyday! Keep it up Cgb don't let the haters get you.
Watching through your video, you mention playing the hawk and timing out. Do you have many people who just prolong a game so they can be on one of your casts for longer?
Seems like a nice brew, not sure how to tune it up for personal use. Keep on giving us cool kids club more content to savor and draw inspiration from. You are an awesome MtG player by any stretch of the imagination. =)
Hey CGB! Was really moved by your intro today. I'm not one to ever comment on anything, but I wanted to tell you that I've been watching your content for a while and I really appreciate what you're doing, man. Keep up the great work and don't let the trolls get to you. Much love 💘
There is a hack for mtga that allows the user to see your hand and sometimes trick your client into stalling on their rope, thus allowing them to play several turns forcing you to time out. I wonder if the first option is what the last guy did. Scoop seemed suspicious.
I've recently been playing a golgari deck that mixes mana ramp with phyrexian obliterate +instant speed buffs like giant growth and this creature fights sorcery cards. With the right hand I can drop oblitorator on turn 3 and instantly make it fight their best creature /proc discards. If they only have weak creature you can use titanic or giant growth ti buff their creature before making it fight the oblitorator. It's really funny when you make your opponent sacrifice 10 permanents
Wonderful commentary as always. And regarding your comment on your other Vid - you are not arrogant CGB. At least one other MTG content creator a much better example of that! Cool kid 100k subscriber shoutout!
CGB, if you feared ugin, imagine how i feel about it when running my sisay gods shrines deck. Ugin just reads "go away you're done" And its easy to say "oh you made a misplay" and think its just one comment, but for you its thousands. Dont let it get to you and keep on trucking! PD: now that t3feri is gone, feel like giving that flash oracle devotion combo deck another spin?
CGB, please delve a bit into how to handle mana base when deciding triomes vs pain lands vs basics/Passages. Also, thanks for addressing playing for stakes, it’s nice to know you have a jank “limit” to punch higher.
That healer's hawk player might have had bad internet connection. Happens to me sometimes. Really feels bad when you enter a game and your internet decides to kick the bucket.

Thank you, koolkid. :-)
This is what I've been waiting for. And the day has come. My life is complete.
The roast was funny, but you are by far my favorite streamer, I get so much from watching your vids, my overall game has gotten much better watching and more importantly listening to your vids. Please keep it up...
I appreciate that
Hey CGB! Watch your videos pretty much every night. Love watching your card mix and how much you post. Keep crushing it.
Thanks! Will do!
Thanks for the video CGB, my day gets better when I get to watch your daily video
Glad to hear it!
@@covertgoblue Makes my day ;D
Never doubt yourself bro, what most see as insightful guidance some will see as condescending intellect. Cant please everyone and sadly its usually the rustled few that voice their insignificant opinions.
You do you! Love the collabs that have been going on recently btw! Cheers
Glad you like them!
Glad you enjoyed!
I had a severe workplace injury back in February and with COVID I have not been able to return to work due to vulnerable family members, for me these have been dark days but every day I look forward to watching your videos, thanks a lot for doing what you do
Sorry about your injury, sending healing wishes. Glad you like the videos and hope things get better for you.
CovertGoBlue Thanks a lot
Thanks for staying positive. You are a good oasis from negativity and hate for many people. I also appreciate that you teach people how to deal with salt by being venerable on stream.
thank you
Thats wild someone thought the need to roast you!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
Hey CGB, update from the future. You made it man, 100k subs, congrats!
I really like the gate manabase with shrines for gates ablaze but I can see why you'd opt for cultivate over stuff like circuitous route.
Can't believe opponent was kind enough to let all that happen around 23:00
All that "true" magic players tend to despise BO1, but it is fun, why do they deny it? I've been watching you for nearly 2 years (mostly on twitch) and I'm glad MTG community has YOU to provide this cool content for us. THANK YOU for everyday hard work, it's amazing! Your sense of humour, mimics, manner to comment and especially music preferences in combination make you my favourite MTGA content creator:) Don't ever let your confidence to shake ^.^
Thank you, much appreciated.
I'm so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how hard that must be. Glad I could help in any small way.
I think our Lord/Lady was roping because they were trying to find your livestream. Jokes on them, it was all in your head!
CGB I really appreciate your content mate. Haven't played for a while but your decks and it's explanation got me back on track recently 🙂 thank you for what you doing.
Glad you like them!
100k subs is definitely gonna happen. You are the best mtg content creator!!
I appreciate that!
I do try to read every comment. Thank you for the support, much appreciated.
Thanks for the quality content, and you're a quality person.
Glad you enjoy it!
Your passion and dedication is extraordinary, and if ppl can't appreciate your wit, that says more about them than it does you. Keep it up.
I appreciate that
22:21 - True happiness showing up.
This is the most Bo3 deck I've ever seen in Bo1. Good stuff.
Hey Cgb,
You're message at the start of the video made me feel sad, I love your content and I always watch it every single day.
Thank you, I really appreciate the support and I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Now off to make tomorrow's video a good one.
Will do! thank you
15:56 “I hate this dog. Mute” xD why though? Haha
Thanks for being an awesome content creator! I really enjoy your daily videos!
Glad you enjoy them!
I don't know what happened but you have all of my support, respect and gratitude for the amazing time you give me here watching you play
Thank you
Hey CGB! Was really moved by your intro today. I'm not one to ever comment on anything, but I wanted to tell you that I've been watching your content for a while and I really appreciate what you're doing, man. Keep up the great work and don't let the trolls get to you. Much love 💘
Thank you. I really appreciate the support.
Ah, Shrines. How you taunt us with your sweet value!
You are the sole reason why I want to make a shrine deck
Ah bro, you are just fine, one of my favorite mtg content creators tbh, stay classy CGB
Thanks, will do!
Been playing historic shrines and it's gotten me into platinum so far.
Man, CGB, your content is superb, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Wonderful commentary as always. And regarding your comment on your other Vid - you are not arrogant CGB. At least one other MTG content creator a much better example of that! Cool kid 100k subscriber shoutout!
Thank you, Cool Kid.
I really like you content man ! It’s given me another perspective on how you can play the game .. thanks a lot and keep going 🤘🏻
Thanks, will do!
CGB, if you feared ugin, imagine how i feel about it when running my sisay gods shrines deck. Ugin just reads "go away you're done"
And its easy to say "oh you made a misplay" and think its just one comment, but for you its thousands. Dont let it get to you and keep on trucking!
PD: now that t3feri is gone, feel like giving that flash oracle devotion combo deck another spin?
Maybe
Can someone tell me where his intro music is from? Ty
Some strange Yt channel called CovertGoBlue. The owner always missed lethal.
Henker1987 ha ha ha
*Spiderman pointing meme*
CGB, please delve a bit into how to handle mana base when deciding triomes vs pain lands vs basics/Passages. Also, thanks for addressing playing for stakes, it’s nice to know you have a jank “limit” to punch higher.
Wouldnt it be better to play one more fae and a five color omega shrine in the side? Gives you two more chances to draw it, right?
Awesome deck my friend - finally somebody made shrines competetive (at least for my concerns ;) )
That healer's hawk player might have had bad internet connection. Happens to me sometimes. Really feels bad when you enter a game and your internet decides to kick the bucket.
Cool kid checking in. Internet is full of bullies and people not worth people’s time. Keep the content coming. I love watching the videos everyday after work.
Thank you, Cool Kid.
47:35 some next level timing on that thunderclap
Best mtga content creator! Keep it up cgb
Thanks, will do!
You are a good man CGB. Don't let them get to you. Thank you for the content.
Thank you
“You can't even squad” is the most badass and sad one of all.
Still pretty locked down and watching you play keeps us sane!
We're still watching CGB, keep up the good work.
Thank you
