Whoever you are in this video you saved my life and thank you. I was having worst panic attack of my life on day 2 of Bell’s palsy and suddenly I can’t close my left eye or use my left mouth. It’s the most terrifying and depressing thing I can think of that’s ever happened to me. Like it just suddenly sunk in that my face may behave this way forever and was suddenly freaking out

Dude! Same. Been struggling with anxiety at work, out of nowhere, since an injury almost a year ago. I'm a Marine special operations veteran and now I'm a cop in a crazy city. This video just made me suddenly start crying, then I watched the "this guy solved panic attacks" video and started laughing and crying at the same time. The explanations of the feelings were so perfect.

@@joeaardvark9214Yeah weird, I choked on food and didn’t breathe for about 5 mins, last year… Since then, I’ve had what feels like a heart attack and inability to catch any air, every time I exercise. I’ve only just realised they’re panic attacks, brought on when I’m out of breath…
Hopefully identifying the problem will be half of the solution.

      Try Letting go instead.
"Letting go involves being aware of a feeling, letting it come up, staying with it, and letting it run its course without wanting to make it different or do ..."
      "What does letting go mean?
to stop thinking about or being angry about the past or something that happened in the past: She finds it hard to let go of a grudge. You need to let the past go and forgive those who have hurt you. SMART Vocabulary: related words and phrases. Falling and dropping.6 days ago
LET GO | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary"
"Why is letting go so hard?
Letting go is hard because it means that you need to free yourself from some aspects of your past. Things that have become a part of yourself - of what makes you who you are today. Most people understand this as getting rid of that 'thing' resulting to a change in who you are. You can find letting go to be scary.May 30, 2020

I had a brutal relapse of my anxiety yesterday - stressful day at work - but good stress - then meeting up with some friends after work that seemed to increase my anxiety more and on the way home my heart started freaking out - then felt dizzy and got vertigo - and then the massive crying came out - the whole episode lasted a good 3 hours of symptoms triggering on and off - mainly my heart freaking out. I would not wish this condition on my worst enemy. It is horrible to live with and you really think you are going to die there and now. But I went to work the next day and was as productive as I usually am - albeit with hardly any sleep last night. This video brought tears to my eyes - it was so calming, and I can see you understand exactly what an anxiety sufferer deals with every day. God bless you for posting this : )

Accept and allow your feelings. Don’t get upset if they don’t go away immediately. Instead of trying to make it go away, sit with it. Repeat to yourself “I accept and allow this feeling. I accept and allow these thoughts.” You don’t have to like it or agree with your thoughts. You are not your thoughts. I know it’s hard but it does get better. Things do get better, I promise 🤍
Edit: thank you for the love everyone. You are not alone- I was suffering from horrible panic attacks for months but I worked through it & I can promise it does get better day by day. Give yourself compassion 🤍

I had a moment of clarity after two hours of a downward anxiety spiral. I searched “anxiety calm down” and yours was the first video I saw. I’ve spent so many nights in a chokehold with my anxiety, lost so many hours of sleep because I couldn’t stop hysterically crying. I cannot believe in just over 5 minutes I’ve calmed down to the point that I actually feel tired. Thank you so, so, so much for that. Here’s to hoping there won’t be any more re-triggering happening tonight, but, if it does, now I know where to go.

Sometimes there's nothing else we can do but this. Everything else will have to wait. We all could use a pause button every now & then. I like to think of my anxiety attacks as a way of my body reminding me it's time to pause for a little bit. When you're overwhelmed, you're overwhelmed. I had to learn to accept that & how to take the time to sit down & take care of those feelings.

It is amazing how your comment is not liked and observed - yet you said it all.
This is dysregulation - if we decide to nitpick it, we will make it worse. Like urticaria, allergy skin rash - if we scratch it , it will spread and be worse even though it feels soothing to scratch. On the other hand, if we wait it out, it will calm down on its own, perhaps with the help of oilment.
The idea to label something uncomfortable as danger and something to attack and destroy instead of listening it or studying it is called Ableism. And that is CBT - it is therapy of narcissistic errors, based on ableism - to destroy and negate anything that is outside of the norm so that abusers and psychopaths who are causing the chaos are not bothered by our complaints about their abuse.
Goodness is chosen. When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man.

I didnt do my absolute best on my finals and everyone is dissapointed and beacause of my anxiety i managed to make things worse by pissing off my parents. the fact that i will for sure and can get into the school i want and still feel this agony kills me because i let down others too, not just myself. now its midnight and im lying in my bedroom freaking out about everything. its so quiet especially with headphones. even with them on i can feel my heart in my chest. It felt like i was sinking a few moments ago. Thank you for helping out a bit , personally spilling things out like this makes me better knowing im not 'crazy' and there are probably other people experiencing similar struggles. another thing that really helps the mind for me is when i look out the window, just nature in general and realise that there is so much more than the thing youre worrying about , going outside, petting your dog or cat, laughing with friends, swimming in the sea, relaxing on warm summer nights, eating your favourite meal, rewatching that same show once again, there is so much more to life. were not even meant to be in any sort of pain because of these parts of life but we still do. im constantly trying to accept myself being sensitive usually in nature , but its hard knowing that you cant really share your struggles to anyone in your life, even harder in my country beacuse when anyone shows slight signs of issues theyre deemed as 'insane'. if youre reading this, just know youre not like that for feeling things deeply and being in tune with your senses, too many of them it seems. this time will pass and you will get to be happy again, tommorrow perhaps? well, not for me now, i have another final exam tommorrow (math) and i can confidently say i barely know anything. my procrastination combined with perfectionism and anxiety is gonna be the death of me, i swear. its funny how i wrote all of this and got the lowest score on my english final today. funny or sad..really not sure anymore. english isnt my native language and i understand this may have mistakes but i dont care anymore. this burden is temporary, you will make it through, just remember how many times you did already when you were even worse, you may not realize it now but maybe you will in the future. breathe

I've had anxiety off and on since I was a little boy. I'm 63 now. The one thing I've learned is that it does pass... and knowing that rationally does help me when I am inside the grip of anxiety. That feeling is so bad...even though I have felt it many times, it's hard to put into words. Right? When I'm not having anxiety, strangely enough I almost forgot how bad it feels...until it comes back and there's no mistaking that feeling! It's a scary place, wanting to crawl out of my skin from being on edge. Wanting to move or walk or move but also feeling week. Even when it won't pass, I cling to the knowledge that it will. It always does. Focusing on that does help to calm me down. The other thing I want to say is once I prayed that my anxiety would go away, but that I would always remember how horrible it feels, so I would be empathetic to others in it's grip. Even with my history, it's easy to become a little callous to others, when I'm feeling good. To hear someone say they have anxiety but not really connect with them in their pain in that moment... so that's where the prayer comes in...I feel like if I forget how bad it is, God is reminding me, so I will stay empathetic to others. It's a tough lesson! But I think people like us who go thru anxiety are made to be more caring to others. Like this therapist, Emma, who does these wonderful videos, I think we all have to suffer to really understand.

Such a helpful video as a teenager who has been suffering from severe anxiety for over 6 years. It’s ok not to be ok. The worst case scenario isn’t as bad as I think. I can do this and get through all my anxiety and panic attacks. My present situation isn’t my final destination. Thank you for helping me

To everyone who is still experiencing panic attacks. I've had a few related to tachicardia, and whenever I heard powerful palpitation I lost control and start panicking. I thought I lost the memory capacity to tranquilize myself. The solution for me it's been one and only: the secret to calm down is to wipe out di effort in whatever you are doing, listen to your heartbeat, trying to control your emotions, trying to understand what's happening. Just let go every type of effort you put in everything you do. I've been in panic for 1 year and 1 month. After this I found peace again!!! Hope this can help you guys!

You're good. 🌹 Fortunately my Panic Attacks are a thing of the past.....but they ruled my life for several years. 2 Strokes later I began making changes which I still follow to this day. Each night I listen to "Rain on my Window"..... via a nice soundbar which is placed right at the window. I begin to relax instantly. Quitting Social Media takes a lot of stress away and I recommend that highly.....best thing I'v ever done. I found another very nifty tool just last week....... Amber light bulbs. As crazy as it sounds....., I have one tiny lamp which holds an Amber Bulb......The room warms up the second the bright whites are turned off and Amber takes over. It's often the little things. As always....my best to you.......and to those who suffer from Anxiety.

The rain sounds sound really relaxing! I usually listen to a gentle river to fall asleep to. The Amber bulbs make a lot of sense as well, since it reminds me of candle light. I will have to try that sometime. Thank you for sharing :)

@@DivineDianne Dianne......As one who used to suffer absolutely Crippling Anxiety and Panic attacks I learned over time to get Creative when it comes to "Fooling" my Mind". As an example, I use a Samsung Sound Bar which I place right in front of my bedroom Window so when the sound of Rain begins, my Mind is Absolutely Convinced that it hears the rain against the Window. I received a note telling me that "The Rain thing didn't work". Turns out that the sound source was a phone......placed 2 feet from the persons head on a table. Nope. Ain't gonna' happen. It's all in the details. :) Thanks for connecting. #goamber

When you mentioned to step outside for a slow paced walk, I paused it there I actually like that lady's hairstyle! Ha. While I paused it , I noticed she was holding a book. Or perhaps a notebook. And I wanted to let everyone know here that I personally appreciate seeing her holding that book or notebook. I do the same thing. If I get an anxiety attack it's usually at night in bed. And beside my bed I keep a book. And it's that book that I take in my hands and hold to my chest, just like I did since I was a very little girl and lay in my bed at night, for fear of the dark. So since I was a little girl - no matter what fear I had - and no matter what anxiety I have as a senior citizen now - holding that book up to my chest and hugging it has always helped calm my mind and my insides immediately.
My book is.... the Bible. I keep one beside my bed I keep one in my purse I keep one in my glove compartment of my car I keep on and every room of my house. I love my Bible. And my Bible takes care of me tremendously, whether I hug it tightly to my chest or read it.
So yes that picture of the woman walking down the street in the video almost hugging her book to her chest reminded me to comment what has helped me for 60 years. Do I believe God wrote the Bible? Yes I do. Because of the power that it has.

They really try to fit in and not make waves. That's an adaptation. They grew up in families where they were not accepted, seen for who they were. Might have been traumatized. That adaptation to suppress emotions, to fit in.
