This tree has branches which stay upright only if heavily pruned, because they don't thicken quickly enough and the wood is weak. It would be interesting to grow it as a Bonsai tree and see how it performs.

Good idea. Thats a bit of thing in Taiwan, have seen a few Lemon Verbena bonsai from them. We are not bonsai experts, however will have a chat to one we know and might just keep pruning that one back and see what happens. Thanks for watching.

I transplanted a lemon verbena plant from a raised bed, put some potting soil into plant pot, then added the plant, watered the soil, and took the plant inside, this time of year we get occasional frosts and wanted to keep it alive. The leaves are now curling after a couple days and I have been misting the leaves but looks like they're not well.. I wonder if I should just try pruning the plant or if that would cause more shock.. dilemma ?

Not sure of your location, If the weather is turning cold, it may well hav decided to go into dormancy and therefore will drop its leaves. If it is transplant shock. then pruning back by around 1/3 may be the answer.. Either ay pruning should not hurt the plant
Other causes can be overwatering OR under watering, also too much sun.... I hope one of these sounds right.

@@johnnyAGardening I had grow lights beaming some light on them for past couple days, maybe causing some of the problem. In a photo I took a couple days ago I can see when I first brought the plant inside, the leaves were already beginning to curl. I haven't watered the plant since bringing it indoors, only misting the leaves, the soil still looks dark and moist so I don't think it needs any water. Shame, I may have caught it too late and now it's going dormant.. Wonder how long it stays dormant if it's brought inside to warmer temps? I'll reduce light time, and keep misting, but might end up just pruning it as well, thank you for your response! & I live in South Carolina, coastal area so only get occasional frosts happening at night during winter season, believe it's Nov.30th to mid-March climate for having potential temperatures that could drop below 32 degrees.

Sounds like dormancy, so the mist spraying may be unneeded. Soil just moist through winter - cold and wet is not a good combination. Should reshoot once the weather warms, sometimes not until early summer......@@AlexB-cn2lo
