Excellent job of describing both skis. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Man, I love the graphics on the Manti!
Pretty awesome.
I have the Gonzo from last season. So good!
Stoked you like it! What do you like about it so much?
@@FreeheelLife Ah, where to begin?! My Super Stinx died about 6 years ago and I have been generally unsatisfied with the skis I have been on since then. I think the main three reasons I hadn't found a pair of Tele skis I loved were (1) the lack of flat tail options, (2) too much early rise, and (3) metal. (Also mounting point, but that's a entirely different story). The Gonzo has a very consistent flex pattern and great life to it. I love that there is no early rise and it's nice to have the flatish tails (a little flip in the tail and stiff but not too stiff). Since there is no metal the weight of the ski felt more balanced and the flex more consistent for tele. There is something special about an all wood ski and, sort of like you say in the Chedi review, it's nice to have effective edge closer to the length of the ski. I can't speak to how the ski tours as I've been using them exclusively for lift-serve. I did also make the switch to the BMFs from the Freerides and that was a major improvement (made NTN feel like 75mm with better control). I haven't skied the Voile line so I can't speak to those, but The Gonzo just feels like a throwback to the Tele skis I loved in the past (Super Stinx, Hellgate, Anti Piste). The Gonzos are lightweight but don't get tossed around, have a little more of an old school shape, and have nice pop from the camber. It's really nice to have all wood ski that is powerful. Since I made the switch to NTN I got used to being able to overpower the newer/fatter skis but I was definitely missing the 75mm feel. Whenever I would switch back to 75mm I would miss the power of the NTN. Keeping my NTN boots but going with the BMF and the Gonzo I found what feels like an ideal set up, it feels like my 75mm days (thanks BMFs) but with more power. Anyway, it's been a while since I've been in the shop, hope to catch you guys soon. Keep up what you're doing!
That doesn't look like a sand wedge!
I can do a Whats in the bag one of these weeks LOL
