Hey Michael, welcome to the West Coast! I'm in Southern Oregon, near the CA border. I keep salivating over the Ariel Rider bikes. Facing grim reality of my age and declining coordination, I'm hesitating to get an ebike- don't want to kill myself... I'll keep watching you and Rusty.
I am 63 and I love my grizzly had a lot of issues witb the assembly from the factory and advertising 2 chargers with 2 batteries and only receiving 1 charger plus bent spokes a stripped out rear axel ,scratched front light. Cheesy puncher resistant tires what a joke that is stripped out and missing nuts and bolts for my electronic display brake levers with screws tightened so tight the Allen wrench stripped out the screws had to drill them out. Gloss paint on bike with flat black rims handle bars and any accesories are flat black if they ever become available and when they do they sell out in a couple days , the handle bars are not wide enough or tall enough , the added rear seat does not match the original small saddle. So I found a company that custom made a seat for me called rhino fighter good price and good quality got my seat in 5 days. Ariel Rider made things right except for rear axel. I was Able to fix but had to buy a die anc tap set 80.00 they didn't comment on seat or color match. I bought gloss clear and fixed that issue , got good tires got a riser stem for bars and widened them buy 1 " on both sides ,got a thumb turn for throttle. I love the power ,the bike is still the best bang for the buck even though it took months to get my issues resolved . Jamie and Jon were great but corporate ties their hands I did find a company chibatteries that had a 52 volt charger that plugs into thd ariel connection cord . I researched e bikes for 3 months and ariel has good component's anc the best built frame on the market. So go get one and be prepared to spend a $ 1,000.00 to get the bike dialed in .even witb that being said it'd still less money than competitors by way far. I give ariel a 5 star rating - 2 for upper corporate management. 63 and riding my grizzly almost daily .
Since this video.. I have tested the Kepler for low PAS range.. 75 miles and probably 80 miles is achievable if you limit your top speed setting to 28 mph or 45 kph. I did 70 miles and had 26% left ... Still had top speed of 28 mph left with throttle only. Well.. After 70 miles and 26% left I did a bunch of testing top speed so I ended up with 75 miles at 13% battery left.. At 13% I still had the PAS 1-3 power to go even farther. No hills here at all I should add. 👍 Heavy head winds for 25 miles of my test .. Was over 2 days I did it. 2nd day 24 miles from 51% to 13%.. Had I not done all the throttle only testing after 70 miles I know 80 miles would have been achievable.. I just want people to know that a stock or almost stock Kepler will get 75 miles plus if you are staying under 17 mph and pedaling most all the time. I'm in a bike group with many other riders on static bikes or bikes without motors. So our speeds tend to be below 15 mph in this group. No hills by us. I'm 190 lbs ..👍
Hi man, Thank you for this great video as usual... I'm looking since a long long time, a bike rack than can support two big heavy ebike. You are the first one that I see, looks like having the one that I need. So, could you give the reference of this rack please ? And how much can it support in weight ? Do you love it ? Thanks
I saw where someone has taking about leaving it in rear wheel drive till you get to a hill, then switching to all wheel drive. Can you switch from one wheel to all wheel at speed or do you need to stop, then switch? I just wonder if it is tough on the system to do that at speed.
Getting to and from work with many hills to go up/down on this bicycle is the best! Easily keeps up with city traffic (35-40mph) and if someone was to steal it, it requires a pin code to turn on so thief can't use it if they were to get through my angle grinder resistant u lock. (they can strip it for parts yes but you get the point) The only thing missing when I bought the bike is turn signals but I'll install my own I guess.
Guess at how many total miles? Hmm, 35Ah times 52volts is 1820 watt hours, and assuming you are only using about 25 watt hours per miles at that speed, I'd say 72.8 miles! Great seeing you and Rusty again, even if it isn't in person this time.
That bike rack is a great idea! I carried my Grizzly in the back of a Subaru Outback for the first time & it was doable but I wouldn't recommend. Now will be looking at bike racks 👍
Anyone know where you can get an OEM battery for an X-Class 52V that will just snap right in? My bike is a year old and my battery will only charge to three bars and they're never in stock.
I have the same bike rack for two 48v Xclass. Very tight between the spokes. Has slightly bent some spokes. But rated at 100 lb for each bike is great. Just had it on the back of my camper with class 3 hitch. 400 miles
Hi There! Love you videos. How does the rack effect the distance of the M3? And can you charge with bike(s) on the rack? as most, if not all Tesla Super Charger stations require backing in to charge all teslas.
Hey! The range isn’t affected as much as I anticipated, but it also depends on the weight of the bikes, wind, and how much gear/passengers as well. I try to use the stalls that have the charger in the side, but am also able to back in enough so the charger cable still reaches. 🐾
Really awesome vlog brotha….I’ve been on the fence about the Grizzly myself standing at 5’-4”. But by the looks at how comfortable you look riding it, and noticing at the beginning of your ride, how easily you got on your bike, I didn’t have any doubt, that I would be leaning towards purchasing the Grizzly for sure now. Thanks for taking me along with a beautiful scenic ride, welcome to the West Coast 😇🙏👍🚴🏽♂️
Hi Tom, thanks for the welcome!! The west coast is another world 😎 I’m glad our video helped as well! I know how intimidating these can seem at first, but if you’re already used to leaning on one foot on bikes it will literally be like riding a bike 😃 Cheers! 🐾
I got the d-class with 21 ah battery and smaller dual motors 750w and I can only get 12-13 miles in my hilly city. Also 5'4 and never peddle because my legs are barely long enough.
Hey brother i have a question but before that glad you like the move and enjoy Washington state I'm from lynnwood and hope i can join the group ride one day when i get my own ebike which brings me to my question. Does the original 52xclass have all the upgrades of the newer step through 52volt xclass? I still prefer to buy the original so i can add a triangle external battery and a gas tank like bag but i want all the new upgrades of the step through
Rusty road is back in 🎥action . good to c you are back hope u had safe trip. that dark road you was at had definitely had that old george town MacArthur Boulevard vibe to it
Like your videos how about a throttled only range test seeing that most people my age utilize the throttle mostly with both batteries engaged v 3 thanks
with regards to the red comet lightbar and extender, where do you get that from, and does it connect to the main battery of the bike or does it have it's own power source, the NR lights where you get them from.??? Am thinking bout ordering a Grizzly to be shipped out to me in Australia, but would like to get some of the lights you have your grizzly at the moment, as I do a lot of riding with food delivery which I do on an Ebike, but am thinking of sellling my current ebike to order a grizzly.
Rusty looks so cool 😂. I’m really excited about getting me one. I have a freesky sport 750 watt. It’s ok . To tall for me I’m 5’8. It has me on my tippy toes. It will do 32 mph.. but I have fallen 3 times because of the high seat and it’s at the lowest level.. my wife thinks I just want the grizzly and that is true.. but really I don’t want to fall again.. I’m 62 years old don’t need to be falling…
I'm an inch shorter and I can get on the bike without too much trouble. You can also lower the suspension about half an inch and get a shorter seat from an aftermarket upholstery shop. That said the AWD mode is hairy sometimes
Hi Thieu! I forget the name of the harness I use for Rusty but if you click on the linktree in the video description you’ll find it listed as “Kid Carrier” ❤️🐾
OMG Rusty paddling or was he saying come on DADDY let's peddle! Me wife won't let me take KoKo (yet) maybe one day or I be getting me own pooch. But yes to as much Rusty as you and he may give. 60 miles, and that will be under the 20 Percent time to find a cord! Congrats again and thanx for the behind the scenes help. T.
I see you have 2 additional lights on your front forks. Is the stock light not bright enough? What issues have you had that led you to add those 2 lights?

Hey man AR should keep all parts for all versions in stock. I had to wait almost 5 months on a grizzly fork after complaining and bad mouthing online I was finally able to get one got it installed and grizzly was working great again for about a month and then with 780 miles on odo and 2 weeks out of warranty front motor quit working and now getting 68h code.
