Thank you SO MUCH for doing this vid on the Ariel Grizzly! Really appreciate the reporting, and totally agree on your assessment of the Grizzly. I am a DIY'er (2-packs, 31.5ah total (same: 1 on top of rear rack, main in frame), Cyclone-mid-drive, 700cx25c wheels/tires on cyclocross frame). I can agree/appreciate what you're trying to tell us: the fun/utility factor of this Grizzly with its well set up dual pack, dual motor setup (vs something like a Super73 (one motor, one big pack). Also so glad/ appreciate that you started off with a full throttle, full on range test all the way to empty cell. (Everyone else's range test doesn't really tell us anything about true range by not doing what you did. From what you did (full max out to the end of battery), we viewers can much better extrapolate on our own what other combinations will likely yield (using various PAS levels with one motor, etc.). Mostly what makes your Grizzly review significant is not only the Grizzly's performance and utility, but much more so, its FUN FACTOR. I love my own DIY bike, and I know I've got the same and more of the fun/performance as the the Grizzly. But if I was not a DIYer, and I had to buy a decent ebike, I'd personally go for the Grizzly mostly due to your reviews.(For something more civil and cost effective, I like the Lectric XP 2.0 step through with extra battery). Every other Grizzly review also report the bike's FUN Factor, too, but this vid (and your previous one) really demonstrates how Ariel really nails it design wise.
Dude! I’ve watched dozens of reviews on electric scooters and e-bikes, since I made the decision to move away from my Genuine Roughhouse scooter. The Grizzly quickly became a top contender, since I like the idea of taking it off-road, and mixing in some exercise whenever I want. A majority of all the reviews I’ve watched were done on the west coast, so imagine my surprise when your review popped up, and I saw the Indian River Inlet as your opening shot! We’re neighbors bro! I live right across the road from Lowes, and my grandfather actually built St Jude’s church in the 70s, where you started your route. It was beyond awesome to not only see the range, but to actually see where it could take me locally. Whenever I pull the trigger I’ll be sure to use your code, and we’ll have to hit the trails in Cape! P.S. You’re absolutely right about Stop-n-go Tacos…that place is the real-deal.
Dude that is so awesome definitely let me know when you get the bike so we can go for some awesome riding around these amazing trails!!!! Even hit the dunes!!
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Right on! So, in your opinion, if money isn’t really a factor, is the Grizzly the way to go? Top priorities for me are torque and speed (mainly to feel confident in it’s ability to quickly pull me out of the way if I need to avoid a Touron driver not paying attention). Range isn’t as big of an issue, given where we live…since the absolute farthest I would travel is downtown Rehoboth, and that would be rare. For me it would mainly be hitting the state park, trails, and running some local errands. Also, have you ever tried taking it out on the beach? I figured it wouldn’t do so well, or would need a substantial amount of air taken out of the tires, but just curious. Thanks again man!
This is so crazy. My husband and I were just there at Delaware Sea Shore State Park this past weekend and had no idea that you're from there. We are definitely going to hit you up next time we're there. Keep up the great videos! The hubby just hot his Grizzly last week and hasn't gone a day without riding it since lol!

I agree! I was considering getting the csc city slicker emotorcycle but it's range and huge battery kind of turned me off to the idea. While faster range limitations and not having the flexibility of practically turning into a reg bike and portability. Also add in that they need registration and sometimes insurance it does not beat the grizzly.
Thanks for creating and uploading this video. Yes, mirrors, gloves and a high-quality motorbike helmet (with some kind of eye protection). You might seriously consider leathers as well. It is an electric motorcycle even if it pretends to be a bicycle. While all the range anxiety with a 7x chain/pedal system? Yeah, I know. That thing is HEAVY and with the fat, knobby tires, I wouldn't want to pedal it any distance.
Just ordered a Grizzly with discount code SHREDDIE! I'll be using it on trails and nearly deserted roads in Connecticut. I'm anxious to go way beyond where my legs normally take me. It will be the same workout, but over a much larger distance with new scenery. Can't wait.

Great ride! Love this bike. I heard that Ariel Rider is upgrading all Grizzly purchases that are made this summer for no extra charge to include: 1000wt hub motors up from 750 wt. Also the batteries will be upgraded from 14 and 18 amp hour to 15 and 20 amp hour batteries!! That's insane!
I was curious if you’d get more range using dual motors to get up to speed then switching over to single motor to maintain speed? Would like to see a single motor test as well! Cheers and great video

First time watching your videos. Thanks for reviewing the Grizzly. I'm looking for a long distance range ebike without the DIY modifications. What would be your recommendations for such a bike? Great presentation and thanks for sharing it on RUclips.

Its nice to have acouple different pairs of gloves to suit the climate. Definetly try just single motor then. Thanks for sharing, cant wait to get mine.
Can’t decide on a Super73 RX or The Grizzly. Is there a reason you would get a RX over a grizzly or would you say the grizzly is overall the better purchase?
I’m having so much fun on my Grizzly and I think you get more for your buck on the grizzly…2 batteries 2 motors more torque 🤘🏾🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾🤘🏾 use code Shreddie and get $50 off👍🏾

Thanks for the review. I have an Ariel Rider (And I also a Yamaha Urban Rush drop handle bar ebike, which really has a great road bike feel with some not insignificant pedal assist, especially on hills. It looks so much like a road bike that I've ridden all day with club riders on group rides and it wasn't until we got back to the parking lot that they noticed it was an Ebike. They always say: "So THAT'S how you were able to fly up those hills! I thought you might have been a former Class racer, just a lot older now. I smile.) And I've had serious club riders drop their jaws at the first rest stop when I'm riding on the Ariel Rider. It's got little wheels, and looks kind of like a circus clown bike. But as I pass them on the hills, cruise into the rest stop ahead of them, have my helmet off and my food and drink refuel in my hands, and greet them with a big smile...they're like: "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!!!". Respect. (I've also added an Ibera seat post mounted rack with a big bag that holds a second battery. (I tried the included rack but it didn't work as well. I also added the Ariel panniers and often go to Costco with that to stock up. It's an eye catcher.) I can definitely range 75+ miles averaging around 18-19 mph with the fastest club riders. Depending on the day and the terrain sometimes I'm ahead, sometimes with the group, and sometimes catching up. But I'm never too much behind on the toughest days. I love that thing.) My question about the Grizzly is this: Does it have a height adjustable seat? It sure doesn't look like it.
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Thanks. I did a little Googling and discovered that the latest "trend" is to build these bikes more along the line of mopeds, with flat, non-height adjustable seats. I really don't get that, unless the bikes came in different sizes, which does not appear to be the case. So I guess for now I'll stick to the Yamaha and old fashioned Ariel Rider.
@@stan121midling5 I could take a photo but RUclips isn't giving me an option to post a photo. But it was pretty easy what I did: I took a Jezero 13x11x19 (WxHxL) milk crate ($26.95 on Amazon), and attached it on the rear rack using a bunch of releasable black zip ties. The battery fits nicely inside the crate. (And sometimes I secure it there with another big releasable zip tie.) That milk crate also works well for shopping at Costco, especially since there's a metal basket on the front as well.
The Grisly comes with two batteries which means you could potentially do twice as much damage as normal if you don’t know how to take care of the batteries. Can you please do a video on how to best charge and maintain the two batteries with only one charger AND without voiding the warranty. Mahalo!
Watching this I'm screaming at the screen "pedal, dude, PEDAL!" but I realize it is a range test. My D-Class doesn't have this kind of range, maybe half that much (20 mi). I can do 45 if you pedal the whole way. BTW, you can set the indicator to be in percent instead of volts. Is quite accurate on my d-class, same controller.
Lol I wanted to pedal!😅 but I do this for Ebike science 🧪 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾 going by the voltage is the best way to read battery life👍🏾 58.8 is a full battery and 43.0 is dead
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE 100% Agree! Voltage reading is the best. Battery indicators force you to try to mentally translate their specific behavior into what we already see/want/need via the direct voltage reading (plus we end up paying so much more for that fancy Indicator). Also voltage reading really helps on charging too: "36 volt" = 42v full, 31v empty (suggest 40v- 33v for better battery longevity and more cycles) "48 volt" = 54.4v full, 40v empty (suggest 53v-44v) "52 volt" = 58.8v full, 43v empty (suggest 57v-50v)
hey, old blind and toothless here ...love what I am seeing in this bike can you do some off road trail riding on them I am of an ...age...and mileage and after losing most of by vision that speed has left me and I need something for slow mobility over trails with a suspension that wont beat these old bones up thanks for what you are doing wishing you happy trails ahead gm
this is my back yard youtube "Aerial Oklahoma - Three Sticks Monument in the Ouachita National Forest" I live on the northern border lots of trails dirt roads to ride
Do a test of using one battery and motor until it dies, then switch over and use the other battery and motor...and compare the distance to this test's results.
I have been trying to find the best dual motor e-bike out there on the market of e-bikes, I have watched your video on the grizzly v2 and I’m going to buy one for myself. I’m from Sydney Australia and I know it’s going to cost me alot, but I going to buy it. Cheers mate
My friend I emailed the guys in America to buy the grizzly and they didn’t ship to Sydney Australia I’m very disappointed and pissed about not getting the grizzly
They’re 2 different beasts…I really like them both a lot…it’s cool how you can register the Bandit and ride the roads….then in the other hand it’s cool being able to ride the bike trails on my Grizzly
I guess that's not bad but if it was winter it will last alot less, for deliveries might need an extra spare battery but I don't think they sell batteries...
Just FYI - Here are is the response from Ariel Rider when I asked about getting a second charger: The Grisly has two batteries but only comes with one charger. Can I buy a second charger?: “We will be releasing extra chargers for sale in mid July.” Do you have a fast charger?: “We do not and we do not recommend using one as it can damage the battery and voids your warranty.” Or can you recommend compatible chargers that won't void the warranty?: “Unfortunately, any aftermarket chargers will void your warranty.”
I’d still get the fast charger…they can’t tell if you used it🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾 I don’t always fast charge though…I only use it on group rides and my range tests…I use it as a slow charger when I’m home to conserve the battery 👍🏾
Def gonna import one of these to norway :D just hoping its not to expensive to import it etc . but i guess its gonna be worth it non the less ^^ Awsome review :) Only thing i dont like is the grey paint in the middle , should be all red and black , but probly just gonna paint over that my self ^^

Hey dude, awesome video! I'm in the market for a new ebike since my previous one was stolen recently. Wasnt sure if I should stick to the same brand of ebike or look into something bettr like the grizzly. This video answered a lot of questions, thank you! I'm also very interested in that fast charger you use but I didn't see a link amongst all the ones you do have posted and I couldn't find anything in the comments about it. Could drop me a link for that? Thanks man!
Wow this machine is so torquey. The pedal assist works well at riding speed but is scary at startup and corners. The throttle is sweet. For beginners I'd use the rear motor only, it's much smoother.
Bought a Grizzly 5 days a go, so anxious to receive mine. i live in ST-Georges Quebec Canada. Full of hills here, so i think i am gonna have fun and by the way i am an 66 old bugger
Hey Paul. I live in Montreal and considering this bike. How's it going with yours? Any issues with the cops? I'm thinking if you just watch your speed they wouldn't know its over 500watt motor(s)? Also, how did you order the bike, cost in Canadian Peso and did you have it shipped to Quebec or did you have to pick it up in the States? Thanks!
Shreddie awesome video and chatter I'm thinking of getting one of these Grizzlies but I'm on the fence about the money compared just buying another car. Side mirrors would have been a starting safety item Dude id try to get a faring built or fabricated for the bike which should help with wind drag 😀 🤔

For comparison to gas mileage you all you need to do is calculate miles per kWh used and multiply by 33.705 to get MPGe. The numbers might impress you, 25 mi/kWh is around 840 MPGe.
sup man love the content quick question. Can you use PAS and still get a decent workout if you wanted? I have an aventon pace 500 right now and its been great, i like to pedal with it at least a little bit for the workout. the bike is actually pretty insane can top out at 32 mph in PAS 5 and is only 1600... I want to get a grizzly if the PAS works well. I know the onyx PAS is non-existent so figured I'd ask
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Yeah it looks like it. I was going to buy it but I live in Canada now so it would stick out and 20mph limit here.. Got a 25mph rad power mini. Guess it will do for now lol Great video mate!

Hey Shreddie! what's your take on the quality of the grizzly? I've been reading on complaints about them from the BBB and majority is mostly on quality of the batteries and customer service that if there's quality issues with them such as electronic issues, they are not responsive on resolving them? I'm now hesitant on purchasing them just because of lack of customer service. It's not a good idea spending thousands and if you have a problem, I hear you're out of luck. What's your experience and advice on them?
I’ve been loving my V to grizzly. I haven’t had any problems on it yet. And I have heard good and bad things about the customer service over there…. My thought is some of these companies are so overwhelmed with orders. It’s hard to get caught up.
Hello Shreddie. Love the videos and all the reviews you’ve done on the grizzly. I should be getting mine soon. I wanted to get a second battery charger and was wondering what you would recommend I get?
I wonder what it would do for speed over voting at 72v and two 20ah batteries? How many amps is the controller or controllers rated for? It looks like it has lots of room for some good size batteries, where is the controller located and how big is it? It would be interesting to see how fast it would go with two 1500w high-speed windings on it. Where I live no one will ever say anything about the speed you are going or what kind of bike you are on. I fly by the cops doing 50mph in a 30 on my long bike recumbent and the cops don't know what to think. Good review as I would most likely be riding with the peddle to the metal 90% of the time also.

Planning to buy Grizzly V2. Love your videos. Keep rocking🫡
Thanks so much brother!!! Here’s a link so they know I sent you lddy.no/turr

Its nice to have acouple different pairs of gloves to suit the climate. Definetly try just single motor then. Thanks for sharing, cant wait to get mine.
I will definitely be doing a single Motor dual Battery Range test soon🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
Cant wait for the v2 tests!!!!!
I’m taking it to the dunes!!!!!!!!
Can’t decide on a Super73 RX or The Grizzly. Is there a reason you would get a RX over a grizzly or would you say the grizzly is overall the better purchase?
I’m having so much fun on my Grizzly and I think you get more for your buck on the grizzly…2 batteries 2 motors more torque 🤘🏾🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾🤘🏾 use code Shreddie and get $50 off👍🏾
Did you ever get the bike?
GREAT VIDEO !
Thanks Roger!!!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
These are the tests i look for. Actual real world range tests instead of the marketing "ideal conditions"
Appreciate you watching and thanks so much for the comment!! 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
700 thumbs! 😎👍🇺🇸
Dig that beautiful flag in your vids Shred
🇺🇸
So cool, I got down there weekly.
I’ve been looking to getting one. Just not sure which e-bike.
What’s your style of riding?
I wonder if the Pitt stop before the bridge helped to cool the motors a bit? Hmm great video!
I just got the v2 Grizzly and will be doing this test again soon
I second the request to test range one battery at a time, throttle only... that would be awesome! Nice vids
Once I get the new 1000 W Grizzly I’ll do the test🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
▪
I'm trying to see this, too.
I want to know if I should get this for long trips into the city or not, and I can't find where to buy backup batteries,,,
🟥
The cheesy music video wasn’t very cheesy I actually enjoyed it it was a good rap up on the end of the video itself
Thanks brother appreciate it. I might have to add some more cheesy music videos.😁🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
I was like... It looks like he is at Rehoboth/Dewy and you were. I live in GA and used to go there all the time. Great spot to bike. That's all. lol.
Next time you’re down hit me up for a ride🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Will do. I'd like to bring my e-bike up there but it sounds waaay to hard.
So this is a request!!! Please do a dual battery rear motor full throttle test please!!! Really curious what the range and speed is as a single.
I’ll do it!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE awesome man. I love your vids! Just ordered my grizzly!
I almost pulled the trigger until you noticed it was back ordered.
If I were you I’d preorder it now…..all Ebike prices are going up because is supply and shipping container prices in China went up from 4K to 35k…so eBike prices will go up everywhere🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
I smile.)
And I've had serious club riders drop their jaws at the first rest stop when I'm riding on the Ariel Rider. I love that thing.)
My question about the Grizzly is this: Does it have a height adjustable seat? It sure doesn't look like it.
I love my grizzly!!! No no adjustable seats yet but it would be sweet to have
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Thanks. I did a little Googling and discovered that the latest "trend" is to build these bikes more along the line of mopeds, with flat, non-height adjustable seats. I really don't get that, unless the bikes came in different sizes, which does not appear to be the case. So I guess for now I'll stick to the Yamaha and old fashioned Ariel Rider.
do you have a pic, of how you mounted the second battery onto that rack ? and what you used to do it ?
Mahalo!
I may be going live on my Channel tonight… I can answer this question for you🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾

can't wait for mine.
You’re going to be so stoked when it arrives!!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE been watching your videos and I for sure am! 🤣👍🏼
Also voltage reading really helps on charging too:
"36 volt" = 42v full, 31v empty (suggest 40v- 33v for better battery longevity and more cycles)
"48 volt" = 54.4v full, 40v empty (suggest 53v-44v)
"52 volt" = 58.8v full, 43v empty (suggest 57v-50v)
hey, old blind and toothless here ...love what I am seeing in this bike can you do some off road trail riding on them I am of an ...age...and mileage and after losing most of by vision that speed has left me and I need something for slow mobility over trails with a suspension that wont beat these old bones up thanks for what you are doing wishing you happy trails ahead

I have been trying to find the best dual motor e-bike out there on the market of e-bikes, I have watched your video on the grizzly v2 and I’m going to buy one for myself. I’m from Sydney Australia and I know it’s going to cost me alot, but I going to buy it. Cheers mate
Glad I could help! Thanks so much for watching!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
My friend I emailed the guys in America to buy the grizzly and they didn’t ship to Sydney Australia I’m very disappointed and pissed about not getting the grizzly
Do you know any e-bike like the grizzly I can look at please
What kind of range do your get on one motor throttle only? Thanks for the this range test as well.
I will be doing that test on the new V2 grizzly soon
OK SHREDDIE, here’s the million dollar question.... do you prefer the Grizzly or the Bandit?
They’re 2 different beasts…I really like them both a lot…it’s cool how you can register the Bandit and ride the roads….then in the other hand it’s cool being able to ride the bike trails on my Grizzly
Thank you haven’t purchased any ebike didn’t want to buy the wrong one. The Grizzly is on the top of the list! What state is Lewis ?
@@HB-yq8gy Delaware
I guess that's not bad but if it was winter it will last alot less, for deliveries might need an extra spare battery but I don't think they sell batteries...
Just FYI - Here are is the response from Ariel Rider when I asked about getting a second charger:
The Grisly has two batteries but only comes with one charger. Can I buy a second charger?:
“We will be releasing extra chargers for sale in mid July.”
Do you have a fast charger?:
“We do not and we do not recommend using one as it can damage the battery and voids your warranty.”
Or can you recommend compatible chargers that won't void the warranty?:
“Unfortunately, any aftermarket chargers will void your warranty.”
I’d still get the fast charger…they can’t tell if you used it🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾 I don’t always fast charge though…I only use it on group rides and my range tests…I use it as a slow charger when I’m home to conserve the battery 👍🏾
This is a bad ass review!
Thank you!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾

So this is there answer to the Juiced _HyperScrambler 2_ eh?
Have they said anything about a black color option?
I wish it came with mirrors like the _HyperScrambler 2_
Right now I think they have red, yellow and blue 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
Hey dude, awesome video! I'm in the market for a new ebike since my previous one was stolen recently. Wasnt sure if I should stick to the same brand of ebike or look into something bettr like the grizzly. This video answered a lot of questions, thank you! I'm also very interested in that fast charger you use but I didn't see a link amongst all the ones you do have posted and I couldn't find anything in the comments about it. Could drop me a link for that? Thanks man!
Check out grin technologies they have awesome products
Wow this machine is so torquey. The pedal assist works well at riding speed but is scary at startup and corners. The throttle is sweet. For beginners I'd use the rear motor only, it's much smoother.
It’s nice to be able to have both motors on if you need to get across the street quickly😁🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE No kidding, on the rear motor flat out it stayed at 32 then I switched on both and she jumped into over drive and I hit 37mpg!

Hey Shreddie ,
One more question…
When will you be testing the Lyric Graffiti?
Opinion between that bike or the Grizzly?
I’m hoping soon since they’re on the east coast lol
Bought a Grizzly 5 days a go, so anxious to receive mine. i live in ST-Georges Quebec Canada. Full of hills here, so i think i am gonna have fun and by the way i am an 66 old bugger
You’re gonna have so much fun!!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
Thanks!
I am 52 and I ordered mine last week!
Man I’d say get a Ebike if you really don’t need a car….yes I definitely want side mirrors👍🏾👍🏾🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
Do u know where we can get replacement batteries for these ? Love your video btw... very helpful
I’d try Ariel Rider first
Me: 51 years old; still enjoys being called a "fellow shred head". Also, not sure if this is a tired old meme or not, but you can't go wrong with Mechanix gloves.
I’ll check them out thanks bro!!!!! 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
How do you protect your battery from getting stolen if you locked your bike up outdoors?
The bikes have locks for the batteries… You can always bring them with you in a book bag though
For comparison to gas mileage you all you need to do is calculate miles per kWh used and multiply by 33.705 to get MPGe. The numbers might impress you, 25 mi/kWh is around 840 MPGe.
Badass!!
Look at deer skin gloves light and warm leather for both winter long gloves and summer fingerless gloves
Thanks!! I’ll check them out!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾😁
Range anxiety is irrelevant when you have pedals and flat ground
So true I did 20 miles no power on the grizzly last summer!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
sup man love the content quick question.
You can definitely get a good workout!! I’ve even ridden 20 miles on it with no power🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
I’d love a grizzly to start a NC Group with this amazing bike
You should get one brother!!!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾

Nice bike how does it handle going up hills? noticed that most of your video you are on relatively flat grounds.
I live in Delaware so yes it’s definitely really flat around here… But I have taken the newer Upgraded a GRIZZLY out in the Sandune’s and it can totally go up them

My grizzly is due July so I've got time. How about rear motor two batteries range. Forget the front only it doesn't have the traction and spins out.
I’ll do one soon!!🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
What chargers are you using, I assume one is the one that came with the grizzly but did you have to buy another and if so what kind?
This was the v1 grizzly it only came with one charger… the v2 now comes with 2🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
Just to let u know connect ur Apple Watch to Strava and also Relive, then it syncs over all ur exercises!!! lol 😂
Thanks bro!!!!!
Any idea on bike weight? I assume it’s not carry friendly at all lol. It’s either this or a voromotor road runner (I know totally different machines)
It weighs 108 pounds with the batteries
If two rooms were the same temperature, and you opened a door between them....would the temperature increase in either room?
Nope

Check out my new review video on the new version of this bike…2 30a controllers 2 1k watt motors now
