  • i give a review of a 2004, model nunber: 10323 lawnboy duraforce lawn mower that needed a bit of work to get it to run as it currently is. this machine needed a new drive belt, new drive cable, carb. needed overhauled, new intake gaskets, new primer bulb, deck assembly needed to be completely cleaned of oil prior to installing a new drive belt. this engine on this machine is a 2 cycle engine design, this engine was discontinued in 2004 model year because the epa (environmental protection agency) said it no longer complies with air quality standards.

Great mower. Just needs a Briggs & Stratton 801308 pilot jet to fix the surging issue. I've used my 10323 for 18 years now with minimal trouble after changing the pilot jet and adding the fuel shut off valve it should have had from the factory.

I added a fuel filter and a fuel stop on my 2002 10324, it idle pretty darn good but i feel like my top end high rpm is lil bit low.

Yes 2004 was the last year that they made the 2-cycle engine

Can you drill out the jet to eliminate the surging?

you can drill out the main jet however, doing this violates epa regs. i would try installing a new main jet or new cars, these plastic carbs are "problematic" to say the least, surging could also be caused by a bad crank seal check bottom of crank seal, if it is wet it needs to be replaced
