One mom had enough of school violence and said that's it I am pulling my kids out of school and I will home school them, that way I know they will be safe and that's exactly what she did until college and university, then they graduated with honours and now have good jobs and are alive and well. When the police can not protect you and you are not allowed to protect yourself, you have to find other options or suffer the losses.

@@FTHFTGU until they are not like the lady who got shot outside of Shopper's Drugmart a year or so ago. your statement is also incorrect. you cannot draw a direct correlation between legal gun ownership and illegal gun possession. there was a time in Canada when you could buy full auto and it was a lot easier to get a gun legally than it is now and we didnt have the same rate of gun crime back then. you can also look to the US and compare jurisdictions with strict gun laws vs. those with more lax laws.

when your not allowed in this province to carry any means of defense, you are totally defenceless and are at the mercy of anyone that has a gun or a knife. And that includes businesses as well. Our country is broken now and its seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Myself I have made a habit of looking at the police crime map and try to stay away from high crime areas and do not go out at night. I wish I could give you a better solution to the problem but if I did, I would be breaking the laws of the land. Be alert, be aware and be safe and travel in groups of people not alone.
