    For Lana Del Rey fans... this video is a bit longer than it needs to be and I talk a little more ab The Weeknd than Lana. Its definitely my fault and apologies to those who were expecting something else. My structuring of videos are usually aimed at a casual fan who might not know of the artist, I try to show what people think of the artist and then I build them up so people will understand who these artists are at a surface level and it happens that I managed to explain Lana in a more time efficient way than The Weeknd.

    Lana did not “fall off” her longetivity is insane, she’s been charting on the BB 200 for OVER 400 weeks, she’s been named artist of the decade by Variety, and has been the number 1 longest charting female artist in HISTORY. Also her latest album broke the record for most number 1 alternative charts.

    While the Weeknd was praised for his darker lyrical content, Lana was criticized. 💀

    • @KingBenny
      @KingBenny  2 года назад +20

      yeah... i think this has to do with Lana initially being more mainstream and her being a pop artist whereas the weeknd was an R&B singer that was influenced by hiphop early on so the reception reflected that... once pop got darker lana got more praise and the weeknd was able to transition into a more mainstream audience

    The video I've been waiting for all this time.I love the interaction of Lana and Abel, it shows that they have an appreciation for each other since both she and he could develop their musical career together.In particular, The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey have worked together a few times. And The Weeknd once admitted just how important Del Rey is to his music.

    On the surface, The Weeknd and Del Rey might seem like very different artists. After all, The Weeknd’s music hip hop and soul sound feels more in line with someone like Ariana Grande. Meanwhile, Del Rey’s career lives much more in line with rock-infused pop. However, the two artists are much more similar than the genres of their music might reveal.
    For instance, The Weeknd and Del Rey both often capture a dream-like quality in their songs. In addition, their lyrical content dips into dark territory, such as their preoccupation with drug references. So it makes sense they would work well together. And so they have. Beginning with The Weeknd’s 2015 single “Prisoner,” they’ve worked together on five songs.
    Although the Grammy Awards have yet to bestow a trophy to Del Rey, her work certainly makes a huge impact on The Weeknd. In fact, the “Blinding Lights” singer once revealed just how vital she is to his own music. In a 2015 interview with Pitchfork, The Weeknd explained the interconnected nature of Del Rey’s music and his own.
    “Me and Lana have been friends for a long time. I’ve inspired her. She’s inspired me. I feel like we’ve always been talking to each other through our music. She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music. It’s just this ghostly collaboration that feels the most natural on the whole [Beauty Behind the Madness] album.
    Even the whole monologue intro on “Lonely Star” from [my 2011 mixtape] Thursday - I just realized now that that’s Lana. That’s Lana’s voice. I mean, it’s my voice pitched up, but it’s her. It’s who she is. She was definitely the first feature that I wanted to bring on this album.”
    The Weeknd and Del Rey are more than just collaborators, it seems. The pair’s music - according to The Weeknd - is spiritually linked. Perhaps this revelation puts into context not only the collaborations between these two but their respective catalogs as well.

    You know, I was honestly interested to what information you had for this explanation, but this research video could have easily been explained by showing that little clip from Abel’s interview with Zane Lowe…
    In the nicest and most blunt way possible to let you know, I learned absolutely nothing from this video other than Abel is amazing and Lana is controversial. But why is she controversial? What makes Abel amazing? Are these information crucial to the topic of the video?

      Im a bigger weeknd fan than most artist... I feel ab kissland how I feel ab yeezus by kanye... Fans love it, I don't. If I talk ab yeezus I'm not gonna ignore the fact that it was critically not received well up until like 2 yrs ago... Sure weeknd and Kanye fans may love these albums but ppl outside the fan base dont and more importantly I don't so its not like I'm gonna fake an opinion.... ngl tho its pretty funny that I called it wanderlust and didn't catch it tho lol
      I go deeper into Kissland and why I didn't like it in this video although I don't talk ab it a lot bc I don't rly care
