She's smiling so much more in this era than ever before. You can really tell she's thriving right now, and we love to see it.
she’s naturally an introvert, so it took her a while to adapt to the attention and fame. Glad she made it over the hump though - it can be a dangerous time for some stars.

lana doesn't just make songs she makes stories. i love that about her. she tells stories about what she's been through and her exes and stuff i love her
I know right? Sometimes I feel she is exploring a character that isn't even her...but she bleeds into them.

For an American :)
richardpkable She’s well spoken because she is rich, well educated, well read and has traveled a lot. Countries where the majority of citizens fall under these categories are an absolute minority. Most countries have bad educational systems, the US isn’t the worst. I get why Americans are considered stupid and ignorant by most other developed nations worldwide, but there’s far worse out there, and I say this as a non American.
Lana’s repertoire is better than average everywhere in the world, if you’re even better than her and know a lot of people around you who are too, you’re probably privileged either by your economical situation or your country’s educational system, or both. However that’s not the reality most people out there live in.

“If I’m noticing it, it’s definitely interesting”. -Lana Del Rey, 2019
Person 123 she didn’t mean it in an egoistic or selfish tone though. She meant like if I notice in 2019 an artist who made art decades ago, then it means the work is really interesting and timeless”
Nijat Gasimov ya
Nijat Gasimov no its much deeper than that. She meant that the current state of the world and the USA in particular has grabbed the attention of a free & creative mind usually not caught up in the system. She clearly is a very thoughtful person and to compare this era we live in to the art of a previous creative and (in somewhat similar) mind of a bygone era on the corruptions of ‘The American Dream’ she wonders what they would think with a smile. As she knows that is probably what they would do when they realised how right they were.

THE BEST LANA DEL REY INTERVIEW SO FAR. THIS GUY IS AWESOME. YOU COULD ALSO TELL THAT LANA DEL REY ENJOYED THIS INTERVIEW.

X tbh yesss
i am not ok my my my, u found this you need this
I completely agree, of all.the interviews I've heard, she seems to be enjoying this one the most!
Caps lock is on, bud.
She has a connection with young men too. Straight young men. Born to Die was an album that came along when I was around 18/19 and made me feel like someone was there with me when I felt alone and scared of life. Used to listen to it on the bus on the way to my apprenticeship. One of my favourite albums and have been a fan ever since. I would fold in half in front of her. When you find music or a film that is perfect for the day or time in your life you develop a super deep connection with them and I have that for her music. Same for me with Lost in Translation and some video games.
@DarthYuYevon I'm not a release listener, the latest of hers I've listened to is Fuck It I Love You and I don't remember anything like that.
I could never fully relate to Born to Die because at the end of the day it's from a female perspective, but it still drilled deep down into me.
Exactly, as a straight man lana has helped me through sooo much
It’s the same with me and Alicia Key’s “As I Am,” and Leona Lewis’ “Spirit.” Both albums hold deep nostalgic value to me. Both came out the same year and day (November 9, 2007). Can’t believe it’s already been over a decade ago since then. Shows how short life is...
Same Here... Born to die still slaps! And this new album is becoming my second fav album by her.
DaveKraft400 the honesty is much appreciated. makes me love her even more. ♡♡
I love that every single person here has nothing but kind and sweet words to say about Lana, praising her undeniable beauty inside and out.... I'm proud of this comment section. We miss you Lana.
I don’t know why she doesn’t do more interviews. She’s so authentic and articulate. I love her!
Her music has a timeless, epic, cinematic vibe to it that is raw, yet whimsical. I feel like her sound can be described as, The Cinematic Score to Dark Fantasy. No one else sounded like her before and you can easily tell when people try to copy her. For that she deserves mad credit.
This comment right here is truly amazing!

she could be a pop star, of course, but she just prefers being herself :))
Being a pop star means that you have to also sing uptempo songs, and that's something lana does not do, not even in the collab song

I'm surprised Norman Rockwell was not discussed in my art history class. Lana has introduced me to him, and I'm quite intrigued.
sarah beara he’s pretty well known
I don't think the modern art world appreciates him anymore because his paintings were of everyday Americana during his era. Beautiful, accessible, expressive and generally uncontroversial (except for his painting about Ruby Bridges- "The Problem We All Live With" during the Civil Rights Era).
J'nai Walker I'm particularly interested in "Thanksgiving, Ye Glutton" because it is so relevant to today, speaking to the general overconsumption in society that extends beyond gluttony.
Not in mine either he really isn't much to analyse in my opinion and doesn't show a style except what u c is what u get type of thing u know?
@@mercyr6105 I think you need to look at his paintings again. There is so much detail - look at the expressions on the faces of his subjects. On the surface it looks like he's painting the american dream, but there is always seems to be something a little off-message.
She’s totally “NICHE”. She’s magically deep, she’s constant poetry in motion... definitely on her own path. Well said.
Okay call me crazy, but hearing her talking NORMALLY LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE is so fascinating. For me she's like an abstract bewitching and gorgeous piece of art, her music is so great and hearing her talk makes my heart warm. Love you Lana ❤❤❤❤
I love Lana’s authenticity. Her songs tell real stories. Her lyrics are poetic and beautiful, not rhyming for rhyme’s sake as she mentioned. Her voice is sultry and emotional. What more can we ask for in an artiste. It stirs up so many memories and emotions in me.

It's mind blowing to me to see how unpretentious and down to Earth Lana is in interviews while at the same time being such an insanely talented musical genius.
People freaked out when Lana emerged out of Lizzy, but they seem to have totally missed when she went from Lana Del Rey to a fully realized human-being/angel on earth.
True
She just seems like such a ... normal person. But really intelligent with a cool outlook on life. But I also really like her old fashioned class and style, and then with the modern flair. She's also a fucking amazingly skilled singer.
She is a very interesting person.
she makes incredible art, she is beautiful, she has great personality and she's so natural in it. definitely my favourite artist

She definitely has a connection with younger women cos I remember back in high school around 2010, I got bullied for 2 years & her music was what took me out of some very dark places. She gave me that distraction, that friend i needed when school was horrible. Her music made me feel safe & ever since then I have been thankful & supportive of her for what she did ❤

"I mean, if I'm noticing it, it's definitely interesting" 🔥🔥🔥 I love when Lana acknowledges her genius
I think she was rather (modestly) referring to her own lack of observational skills - in a “things must be noteworthy if even I’m noticing it” kind of way. I agree though, she is a genius.
@@synthesizerpatel7405 Nah, I don't think she's trying to be modest...She's aware of her brilliant mind.

She’s just too gorgeous. Gorgeous voice gorgeous EVERYTHING
I am eternally grateful for her amazing music. Her album Ultraviolence is literally intertwined with my soul
This is my first interview watching her as I’ve only seen her in music videos and whoa… she’s completely different than her singing voice / vibe in videos
Same I’ve been a fan of her music since I was a kid but I’m only now experiencing what’s she’s like outside of the music
She is a motherfuckin light and my fellow crab momma and that is definitely the reason why she shines, she's a true romantic and a lover and it radiates throughout her entire being.
I liked the questions before it was just "tell me everything about the album". At this point this woman had done a handful of these interviews and I think you gotta come up with something - if not original - more specific than that. It will give you a room for question that might come up with as she's speaking and it would feel more comfortable for her not to have such a broad question.
there are many reasons on why i love lana, i was born listening to her music my dad had always loved her music but he would only play 3 songs video games summertime sadness and once upon a time, then in 2019 i was at a mental institute in the suburb of san fran and during that time there was a person there obsessed with lana and thats what started my true love and deep dive into every song shes made including unreleased and features. the best way to explain my love for lana is that her and her music just represents every part of my soul
