@@cy4330 actually I think he's referring to the fact that a lot of parents neglect their children to focus on their own goals so he's happy that mr. Winslow was not that kind of parent.
Rick Moranis also gave up his career for his children.
I really love Michael Winslow in a lot of things but my favorite has to be his guest starring in "Video Game Sound" by videogamedunkey released on July 10, 2022.

I was lucky enough to see him live around 10 years ago in Sydney. It was a little club and a guy got up and walked towards the bathroom. Winslow did his footsteps, the door opening, his zipper, him peeing and the flush. He got a standing ovation!!

No Dougie Fresh & The Fat Boys were beat boxing in the 80's when I was little but Michael is the pioneer of his versatile sounds in the 80's as well🤗

What agent? His old agent is probably retired by now. If you're gone for a LONG time from the business you lose your connections, including your connections to agents. That is the sacrifice some make to raise their children. Rick Moranis, Michael Winslow, and Bridget Wilson are examples of that, among many others. That is just the sad reality of that business.
Another possibility is that his kids may have also wanted him to appear on the show.
That's what I'm thinking, he has proven himself already 🤔

Michael Winslow has been my favorite since I was a kid, I used to be able to mimic so many of his noises growing up, I used to practice on my grandma hahah but noone could ever replace Michael Winslow, he's a legend, and this was beautiful! Had me choking up

Growing up watching the Police Academy movies on VHS (yes, a kid watching R-rated movies, shhh), he was the best part of them. It's amazing to see him back and seemingly happy, doing what he loves.
I grew up watching those movies too… and yeah they were raunchy but nothing awful imo. This dude is super talented 🥰

I think only the first movie was R, the rest were PG or PG-13.

Well, actually, only the first one was rated R. The second was rated PG-13 and all the ones that came after that were rated PG. I didn't really much care for them after Part 5, the last one with Steve Guttenberg as Carey Mahoney.

“What happened to this world?” 😂 he’s an 80s star using a popular platform to become relevant again. Meanwhile AGT using him to get ratings. Winslow is great at making sounds but he’s not the best at stand up, he needs a comedy writer or to go back to movies or TV where someone can take advantage of his talents when writing a script

Back in movies, hell. I want someone to make a movie where he does ALL the sound effects. He would basically be the equivalent of a foley artist for the whole damn thing. I'm thinking either like an animated movie or some kind of campy "dubbed" martial arts movie along the lines of Kung Fury.
This is the guy that made me start Beatboxing and making voice and sounds impressions! Basically my career! Thank you, sir! I will always be grateful!

Not only is he doing what “he” wants to do now, hell he’s been quiet for a while now, so he’s probably just bored.
This audition was absolutely AMAZING. He did what he needed to do to showcase his talent and make sure they would all give him a yes, but didn't give too much to where people would think 'how is he going to top that?'. If I were a judge on this show, he would be my golden buzzer. I can't wait to see more of his incredible gift!

I had the privilege to meet him and take a selfie while he was doing a show in Finland! Meeting my childhood hero and icon was truly a moment i wont forget... Now seeing him @ AGT with everybody cheering at him makes that moment even more precious!
Eddie Murphy and Michael Winslow could make a movie together. The cast would be just Eddie and Michael. Eddie would play all 40 characters in the movie and Michael would provide 100% of every sound you hear in the movie.

I would love to see him go through. Not only because of the sounds he makes but for his comedy as well. He made it different and not just with the sounds. He used to do the comedy clubs. Actually one of the best shows I've ever seen. He is VERY creative with his story telling...
They are good for each other in this case. By getting eyes on him, he can get booked for bigger shows/venues. It's one thing to be known for the past - but this keeps him relevant.

People probably think he's set for life because of his success. Not true at all. He deserves to work doing voice over work. Hopefully this will help him out. He shouldn't have to lower himself but it's a shame that he needs to.
It is strange to me that he'd be a contestant instead of being someone who'd showcase his talent in- between acts to give him a platform. As long as he's a contestant, more power to him-- glad his son prompted him, and glad to see he's back to showcase for a new generation-- but it would've been nice if he'd been given a platform in his own right. NBC obviously should know who he is, and whatever happens in this show, I hope NBC hires him for his own show, or any other role he wishes!
I absolutely LOVED him in the Police Academy movies! I do respect him for stepping away from the spotlight to take care of his kids-- I wondered occasionally where he'd gone, but glad he had his priorities straight!
