I've seen a lot of Michael Winslow and this is him at his absolute best. We must remember that he is not a young man, and yet, his vocal power is insane.
He did the drums, and I thought, yeah, impressive. He did Plant's voice, and sounded like a distant recording, and I thought, The man has clear skills. He did the electronic guitar, complete with feedback, and I lost my damned mind. Simply brilliant.
+Rekaert his voice is sent through a distortion unit (the way an electric guitar would be sent through distortion) so he got some help from technology but impressive either way!

It doesn't matter how many people are wrong like you, that doesn't change the fact that it cannot be done without mic and distortion pedal. Btw. you can't even make a guitar that would have the sound of electric one build in. He uses guitar effect in every single of his performances, you can clearly see even here on youtube. But even that said, it IS incredibly HARD to do, because you have to know which sound on input makes what noise on the output, so I think he spend a huge time just trying out those things. And he has incredible musical memory and talent.
I watched Police Academy when I was a kid and hands down my favorite part of the movies was Michael Winslows sound effects. I didn’t know why he just disappeared from acting, but when I heard his wife had passed and he did it so he could be there to raise his kids. That is just admirable. I hope he continues to have a great career at whatever pace he wants.

Christmas Day 2024. I have seen this before but I came back here after hearing the backstory. Prince was snubbed in the 100 greatest list. Then he was pushed out of the solos throughout the song by that other cat - who really played those solos like he owned them. Then Prince steps out of the shadows and lays down a master class solo on a stage packed with legends… and blew them all away. Epic. RIP.

Tbf - It is easier to play in E, like the original. Most guitarists learn the original as a rite of passage and it would require very little adjustment to revert. Playing it in G, however, if you only know the original - much harder, if only because of the missing open string.
I don't know how to play music, other than hitting play, or telling Google to play something, but, when I was a kid, and I would see some old men fixing to have a "jam session", as they called it, one of them would say something about playing it in the key of G. That was always funny, to me.
The guy who plays the guitar is Odd Nordstoga. He is a Norwegian folk musician whom has managed to hit the mainstream market. He is known for his singing and songwriting.

As a kid growing up in the 80’s watching police academy, nothing was cooler than Michael Winslow.
I was legitimately taken aback and blown away by his voice. That is incredibly impressive, it sounds like the real thing!
