Excellent john, hard bloody work , at least it wasnt chucking it down. After ODing on your videos , you have inspired me after 25 years or so to get fishing again . You are premier league , im probably 10 tiers below, but its great just getting out there . There is just one thing ... the reeling in soundtrack , a bit of motorhead wouldnt go amiss . Keep up the great work.
Hi Phil, that's great mate, truly happy you're getting back into it thanks to my videos ♥️. It doesn't matter what level you're at as long as you enjoy the sport and just try to improve your skills and knowledge. We're all learning all the time, whether that be a new method or just how a venue reacts in certain conditions. Little tweaks here and there is what I aim for, be that with feed or rigs, analysing your performance and what worked/didn't work so you can make better choices next time. There's lots of great tracks out there but unfortunately I can't use them...copyright etc. Tight lines matey. 🎣
I stood behind a Guy pleasure fishing around peg 10 one day last Summer. He was bagging up on red maggot catching hand sized skimmers trotting just off the rod end with a 17' rod and a big aluminium stemmed Bolo float. He was feeding little balls of groundbait every cast and had a pole set up at about 7 mtrs to feed maggots on the trotting line through a bait dropper with a modified stem so it was discharging the maggots about 30" off the bottom. He'd obviously fished there before.
Very true John, it's about time I got a decent draw, trying again this morning, heading for the Tees in the Northern River Masters qualifier so maybe today🤞 Good luck for Sunday 🎣💪👍
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel I know the feeling! Last week at the RF at Peterborough, hour and a half in, a few perch and a roach. Guy next to me comes off phone - other end of the section had 9 bream already! Match won with 21 bream.
Nice video John fish the Warwickshire Avon every week and no how fickle these rivers can be .but still prefer them to commercials every day of the week thanks for the video please keep them coming 😎👍
Another hard day John but you still won the section keep the faith son we all need a bit of luck yours will change sooner rather than later I hope stay safe.
Hopefully it will, it's been a hard year, the lack of bites and fish coming to the net is getting to everyone now. I know it's not just me but we all like to catch fish don't we.
Feel like I've been doing double shifts on some of these matches this year, it's hard work at the time and even harder work re-living some of them during the edit. Thanks Martin, I hope the peg gods take pity on me too 😉🤞
Thanks Adam, glad you're enjoying them, probably more than I am fishing/making them at the minute but I'll keep em coming. Do you fish with a club in York? I travel around a lot with the bandits but will hopefully get a few opens in on the Ouse time permitting. Going to take a couple of weeks for pleasure fishing though to reset my mojo.
HOOKED Fishing Channel Hi John, I have being asked to join 3 or 4 clubs in the past in York but I just couldn’t afford it tbh. I’m begining some part time work shortly so will definitely be in more matches and potentially be in a club by next year
Good lad, you'll do well. Match fishing isn't cheap, especially the big money ones. Nice to start at club level and work your way up, you'll get a good grounding and make some friends for life.
HOOKED Fishing Channel cheers mate, good advice that. I’ve only being in two matches this year more of a test to see if my practice is working lol and to see if I’m ready for regular local matches. I came 1st in one and 3rd in the other so I’m feeling very optimistic for the near future.
Don’t let it get ya down, it’s fishing and not catching, when you get to your standard, you should be thinking, if your struggling then so are the others apart from (may be) them on noted pegs. It came from one of our top anglers on the midlands circuit.👍 keep putting your hand in the bag and sooner than later a good peg will stick in ya mitts and you will do what’s needed.👍👍ATVB
Thanks Dave that's a great philosophy. There's been a lot of very hard matches this year and I'm still waiting for a decent draw, hoping things will turn round soon and the fishing will improve.
I only coarse fish so not sure but don't see why you couldn't do it anywhere on the Don where there's room to cast? I imagine the weir would be good and the pegs below the road bridge on DDAA water have a big open field behind them.
it looks dead arrd oop north.... id prescribe you a days fishing on an easy leisure pond.. just take a waggler rod and remind yourself why we love fishing....
That's south for me by an hour, my local rivers fish better though to be fair the Don was just out of sorts, it'll fish better for roach after some rain and frosts.
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel yeah most rivers have carp nowadays, have tried the Thames a few times with not much luck. have been trying to catch a river carp for quite a while without any results
@@mat8009 Trent at Collingham Weir if you can get on. Or bobs island end peg on the point facing down to river to the castle. Put one on the end of the canal. 😉
@@mat8009 not saying it's easy mate but if you put the hours in they'll show. You're pretty much guaranteed a double under the Weir but there's a long list to get on those pegs. Check my A1 pits video out, the peg I fished there and further down is supposed to hold carp and I've had a brute on there but lost it.
Great vid John. Unlucky on the day mate. Pegs 1&2 were the flyers on the day. My Bream came at 2:30pm and tbh I expected at least another. For me the mag feeder worked well. Can’t believe the weight the day after in peg 1, I prob primed it for him lol .Incidentally the loud cracks which can be heard in your vid were from the local quarry according to a passer by.
Thanks John JW 😉, you did great mate, sure you'd have got them if they'd been there in numbers, a late show that bream. The cracks got worse, it literally sounded like machine gun fire later in the day.
Cheers pal. I thought it was clay pigeon shooting at first lol. Looking forward to the A&C... not fished it but I’ll do my research. The drive to it will seem like a breeze compared to the epic K&A Canal journey 😊

Think we're going back to Pollington, you fished the knock up with us on 29th December last year. The roach should be there by the end of October. 👍
Yeah I remember. I’m in dude 👍🏻👍🏻
