    What’s also impressive about this song is Bon’s vocals. He paints a picture with the incredible use of his voice. Even without the band you are still drawn into the story he is telling. Listen to the way he drops down on the verse “freedom he was chasing” then rises up for the next “SPOTLIGHTS”!! The range this guy had was something few singers could match. We tend to see Bon Scott as a heavy rock vocalist. But as this track shows there was so much more to him than that.

      I've always said he was a minstrel, a storyteller. He draws you in. It's the greatest difference between Bon and Brian. Late AC/DC has some great songs, but I grew up with the early stuff and that's the real AC/DC to me.

    • @scotttaylor7767
      @scotttaylor7767 6 часов назад +2

      @@dougcox3990 Me too it has to be said the quality of AC/DC’s songs fell off when Bon Scott wasn’t around anymore. They could still come up with some good rifts but the lyrics were pretty dreadful! A big part of what made those AC/DC songs so playable on the radio was the clever nature of Bon’s lyrics. Cheeky but not crude or rude. At least not in a way that would give offence to anyone.

    Mark Evans (on bass) is the only member of Accadacca who has written an autobiography. He said that there was a little bit of danger making this video. He said that the explosions behind them really singed their arses somewhat! It was a bit dodgy, but pretty fucking cool as well. It's one of my favourite clips ever! Also, Fremantle is pronounced Free/mantle. It's named after Fremantle in Scotland, like Perth. I believe this songs lyrics were inspired by infamous Australian criminal icon Chopper Reed.

    G'day Suzy & Travis,
    You've hit the AC/DC jackpot!!! This is one of the very few AC/DC official video clips, where Angus doesn't wear his school uniform. I think there's only one or two more - not counting their performance at Donnington Park, where Angus ends up in his Union Jack boxxer shorts. I'm not going to tell you which one that is though. You guys are going to have to find it yourselves. 😉
    Thanks for another great video.

    OK - first of all - I LOVE this song - one of my favourite Acca Dacca songs - and therefore one of my favouriteoverall songs.
    Secondly - I actually don't think this was the "Official" film clip - This may have been the "Original" film clip - but it's a bit too violent for most of the music shows of the day. Even Countdown - which was ABC and thus a little immune to the censors - would've had trouble with this film clip.
    There is a similar - slightly more PG version - which would have been the "Official" one - that we all watched and loved back in the day.
    I actually prefer this one though 😃
