The defense is like equating Katie+2killers like the mafia. In that Charlie was afraid for his life so he just paid up. This obviously makes no sense as they weren’t up against a real gang or organized crime. The jury should see through this. Wendi Adelson’s testimony so far has been utterly ludicrous. A lawyer obviously focused on how she comes across…quiet tone of voice…wide deer in the headlamp eyes…confused….not bright enough to understand inferences. Please. High school valedictorian. She sailed thru law school on full boat scholarships and she doesn’t understand what contempt is? Is anyone buying her bs?

Many people have waited a long time to see justice for Dan Markel. And justice means the Adelson family being prosecuted for his murder - they are all equally culpable with Charlie, for masterminding the murder plot.

How fabulous it was to see Dan's ex wife Wendi take the stand today, suddenly looking very nervous - a far cry from her previous cocky performances, lying under oath! $hit got real for Wendy today, and handcuffs are coming ever closer. It's about time -she should have gone to prison a very long time ago, ditto her mother Donna, the matriarch and mother-in-law from hell, at the centre of this twisted web.
Dan did not have to die over a child custody fight. Kids are kids for such a short time, and they need both their parents. Wendi could have been a grown up and handled the custody issues civilly, without involving her family. What the Adelsons did to Dan's children when they decided to play God and murder their loving father, was unforgivable.

if Charlie is convicted of murder then Donna will be convicted as an accessory to a first deg murder (as in conspiracy to murder ) and in FL that has a 30 year price tag. CJA is facing three separate charges. I am sure he will get convicted of the conspiracy and solicitation charges - depending just a little on the testimony from K. Magbanua.
Wendi down the track will try to do a deal that involves admission to the conspiracy but no prison time and it will be linked in to access to the children by Ruth Markel. My prediction.

I think in the circumstances his defense counsel did the best he could for his client. His client deserves to have defense counsel, however, CA is as guilty as hell. The prosecutor put forward an excellent case based upon circumstantial evidence, the weight of which is enormous. So far we haven't heard the wiretaps and surveillance videos and recordings. However, they are very damning. I think the State will indict CA'S mother and Wendi after this trial. However the weight of the evidence against CA is the heaviest.
I agree. However, Wendi was clearly the primary beneficiary of the contract killing, paid for by her brother and orchestrated by his ex-girlfriend Katie Magbanua.

I think Wendy’s testimony that Charlie did not tell her that Katherine was extorting him will sink his defense. No juror will believe that, that blow hard could keep that quiet from his sister
Didn't they talked about his murder and wondered who did it. Donna signed the checks so of course Donna knew if they were extorted. Donna so close to Wendi, so Wendi would be informed.
If charlie was being extorted he would have told police the day they arrested Katie. they all talk to each other so of course if they were getting extorted my katie, sigfredo and luis, Wendy would know. the defense conceded Charlie being tied to the murder. But this is probably the info as he was told by charlie. He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. Charlie fed him this bs and he is going with it.

There's NO QUESTION that the entire family was involved in this. The sister and brother, mother and father. They all need to be held accountable.
I've never laughed so hard watching Court TV as I did for this segment - especially the part where Wendi said Katherine carried out the killing then DEMANDED payment from poor Charlie.
The jury might not see it the same way without all the details we have seen. Like Wendy saying that's right Georgia, the 3 people that killed Danny have been convicted already.

This whole case is just a pit of vipers. All the Adelsons and the 3 convicted of the murder already just seem like massive scumbags. Especially Wendy the whole classy sweet butter wouldnt melt in her mouth facade annoys me so much. Its no wonder when you mix all of them together you end up with something like this happening. I think the prosecution has done some things well, average and poor. Same goes for the defense. I predicted the defense theory back in June. I think the prosecution won the case when they asked Wendy if Charlie told her about the extortion. If Charlie was being extorted he would have come forward when they arrested katie.

There was a murder case in TX. Eric William killed 3 lawyers. His friend rented a storage for him to hide the drive away car without knowing that.The police arrested Eric but couldn't find the car. His friend came forward as soon as Eric was arrested. That s what innocent people do if they are not involved
Hearing the blackmail/extortion defense felt like I was in the twilight zone. As if his attorney was trolling us and we're going to get the real defense tomorrow. It was that bad and laughable. Just wow.
Besides placing blame on Donna & Wendy it was all he had to work with. It's laughable to all of us who have been following for 9 years, but for a Non-Bias jUry it could b very believable. Especially considering that 3 people have been convicted for the murder already.
What I found interesting was that the defense said that Charlie was willing to give 3333.000 to a sister to get Dan to move with the kids to Miami but then when supposedly his family's lives are at stake, he doenst have the money. The defense is working for a client against whom the weight of circumstantial is very heavy. CA is going down in my opinion. However, l don't imagine that he will take the stand because the prosecutor will rip his defense to shreds.

The very concept of paying that kind of money shows how deeply he was mixed up in what actually happened. Normal people adapt to court rulings on custody etc but the Adelson’s aren’t normal. Poor Dan married into a family of viscous narcissists

In making her reference every question, Wendi only demonstrated that Georgia had great foundation for the questions which further exposed Wendi. Wendi may have been an excellent law student and law professor, however Georgia's practical application of the law, court proceedings and how to examine a witness is exemplary. Wendi's testimony was a win for the prosecution.

If there is no evidence to connect Wendy with the request, the planning, the act, the coverup then that isn't the fault of the state of FL. Evidence cannot be created out of thin air or fabricated. I think great lengths were taken so that Wendy COULD NOT be connected in any way to the crime. It's not just by chance.
I don't think its embarrassing for the state that there is no evidence that she is involved. It would be embarrassing if they charged her & there wasn't enough evidence.

The wheels of justice turn very slowly when certain criminals are very careful with law enforcement investigations. This goes for street criminals to wealthy people who engage in crime. Florida is very lucky to have even gotten this far. Look at KatieM, she managed to get a hung jury . These prosecutions are NOT easy for the higher layers of the conspiracy

This court reporter and psychologist are so naive to believe Wendi might not know Charlie was having her ex murdered. Do they not know that Wendi and Charlie were exchanging phone calls on the morning of Dan's murder? Wendi claims the 18 minute call was to discuss a TV malfunction (which I believe is no coincidence) yet Wendi also travelled to the crime scene immediately after Dan was killed. Of course Wendi knew what was going on. I believe that not only did she know but SHE was the primary instigator along with her mother. This fool Charlie was just an arrogant narcissist who thought he was too smart to get caught paying for and arranging the hit that Wendi and their mother wanted.
This lady really thinks that Wendy didn’t know the day off? Wendy just thinks she’s so smart and great that nobody would catch her so she decided to go that route. Why did she drive by the house where he was killed that morning? 11:56

Wendi called and asked Dan Markel whether he had the kids. The morning of the murder. She knew Dan was traveling the next day, that’s why the hit had to occur the day it did.
How can the commentator lady say wendi didn't know cuz she gave up charlie ! But what about going to the crime scene that morning before murder was known? Also the way she was concerned about Jeff LaCrosse leaving that Friday morning! She knew everything!

Would’ve been nice if court TV sent to reporter to cover this trial who is actually familiar with the testimony and evidence from the previous trials. Anybody who was, wouldn’t make ignorant comments about thinking Wendi had no idea her brother was involved based on her behavior and statements to the police.

The defense opening statements was just about as ridiculous as Jose Baez’s opening statements in the Casey Anthony trial.
