@@alexander1055 The game's been in early access since 2018, officially released back in 2020 on PC and Xbox, and the trailer here was just for the PlayStation version, which already released to the platform almost a year ago.
Fun fact: the music for the launch trailer was a fan made music tribute to the game that the devs that decided to have as the main theme for the game. The players are so tight with the devs last year they supported them stopping development for a month give or take just to have a break from developing content for the current season. You don't get a community like that unless you have done everything with the game right.
This is one of the best coop games ever made. GREAT game. The game really changes a lot once you start getting overclocks for your weapon. The game opens up so much after that. Some OCs drastically change your weapon and play style. All 4 classes are masterfully crafted as well. There really isn't a best class, they are all great and complement each other really well. You can find lots of creative solutions to problems with the character special abilities.
10 hours? If you played every mission in the seven biomes it’s 25, easy. It takes that long just to buy all the weapons. I started playing Haz5…two years later and I always go back to it. Game is just fun.
It's been out for sooo long that there are almost no game bugs ( you know what i mean. lol), tons of content, tons of skins, ZERO microtransctions, and it can be found dirt cheap just about anywhere (for PC). There is literatlly no reason not to play this co-op masterpiece.
This game is such a great breath of fresh air, and so damn enjoyable with friends. The community has so much love for the game and it shows what a small studio can do with love for their game.
I used to play this game with a group of friends, we eventually put plenty of hours in and moved on to other games, but it was definitely a fun time for sure
Been playing this game since quite a few years back and this is one of the best examples of an early access game delivering that I have ever seen. When asked why I still put faith in some early access I tell people about DRG.
"10 hours and it feels repetitive" LOL... Not. the. case. at. all. The game has a lot of content, specially if you just jumped in, so many patches, new weapons, armor, enemies, missions, etc. that have been added. With 10 hours you won't have all the primary weapons, let alone overclocks (which can change a weapon into doing something completly new... some overclocks are basically a new weapon).
That 10 hours of combat is just if you're constantly playing one character. It gets a WHOLE lot fresher if you switch up characters and try to promote each one. It's one of those games where if you feel burnout, quit before you get too burnt out, and return a few days later. That 10 hours is also if you're trying to giga speedrun the game. If you take your time, it's more like 50 hours. I'm approaching that number and I constantly want to keep playing more everyday. One thing the trailer does capture a little bit is the hype of playing the game. When you actually start playing, you get a whole wave of pride flowing through you after your first few missions. When you're exiting the caves and stuff around you is blowing up and your friends are dropping down, so you have to go and save them, it feels SO good. Like you're in a warzone screaming "NO DWARF LEFT BEHIND" while the gunner and driller go to save the scout/engineer that fell behind, blowing up praetorians and gunning down oppressors. I'd highly recommend playing with at LEAST 3 people, 4 recommended. And make sure they all have voice chat, so gather some of your friends, and be ready to scream through swarms.
Whoever said 95% combat is just wrong. It depends on the difficulty and mission type. Egg hunts some eggs will guarantee a horde to spawn while most won't, mining expedition its just random chance if a horde spawns. I wouldn't call the 5 bugs that appear every like 20 seconds as 'mostly combat'
The amount of bugs scales to party size and hazard level. So if you play solo at like haz 2, you're not going to get a lot of bugs. But a full party at haz 5 is going to be hauling ass nonstop while being chased by bugs.
DRG is a worth while play especially when you get to the end game of over clocks. Turning a particle beam into something that instead of melting enemies for instance, is one of many funny things you can do
DRG is literally perfect. it takes all the mechanics that company use to squeeze as much money and time out of players and possible, but makes all those systems free and easy to use. it’s satisfying unlocking things on the season pass (which is essentially a free battle pass). i just bought this game last week with my friends and we cannot stop playing it
I like DRG but the enemy variety is very lacking so the combat gets boring somewhat quick, and the mission types are to similar so it feels like you're just cycling through 3 types of modes over and over again
I discovered this game 1 week ago and man, What can I say, I love it so much. After play broken games from big companies that don't f care about the game and just try to take all the money they can from u, feels good play a game made with some passion and love xD Btw I'm in Australia playing with my friends in South America, 0 issues, I can't believe how good this game works. (Ofc there is some lag, not a big deal, but they are in the other side of the world and we play every day without problem)
i haven’t found a game that i’ve felt like spending this much time on in years drg is one of the most refreshing experiences i’ve had there is so many different ways to play each of the classes and they all have their own place in the game, for me the itch is scratched every time i get a new cosmetic or an over clock that sounds fun to use
I believe Asmongold would enjoy this game. Not only for the Combat and Content, but also for the Weapons/Perks/Modifications feature he can mess around with. Plus, I can absolutely see him enjoying the Deep Dive content. This Game also does well in promoting Multiplayer Co-Op. Not 100%, but damn close.
Definitely worth trying. For me and my friend it’s our favorite co-op game. In particular, the things that stand out to me: - Map generation is great. It genuinely feels like you’re exploring new environments regularly rather than pre-fab rooms or random noise. - The way the gameplay and the character classes interact is interesting. Everyone has unique tools for getting around and doing things in the game and they do feel like they meaningfully change how you approach missions, but none of them are technically required . If you needed to, you could pick axe your way through everything, it’d just be way more difficult/inconvenient. The result is you don’t desperately need specific team compositions, but the characters aren’t just different coats of paint on some generic outputs. - The game has a nice mix of combat and dynamic problem solving. Fighting the bugs is fun and creates pressure in the mission, but a lot of the fun also comes from figuring out how you want to get where you’re going. There are also a lot of systems interacting with each other and the result is occasionally getting some cool emergent gameplay. - The game has a lot of character to it. They’ve just injected fun everywhere they can even if it’s completely unrelated to gameplay. The hub area is filled with physics objects, mini games, a bar with crazy beer effects, you can spend your actual game currency to tip the robot bartender if you want. In missions there are astonishing amounts of flora, fauna, and rocks that are entirely just there for decoration. It makes it feel like an actual world and not just game rooms meant for you to do things in. There’s one mission where you escort a giant drill robot named durretta. You can pet durretta and at the end of the mission after the drill breaks and you get what you came for, you can take durretta’s head with you back to the drop pod. Nobody tells you to do this, it actively slows you down, and there are no rewards or even an achievement for doing it. But if you do bring her home, the head shows up on the mission summary screen just to acknowledge what you did. It’s not perfect everywhere, but it’s a wonderful game that I hope more people could find and enjoy.
My favorite "not-perfect" moment in DRG is when Spitball Infectors spawn in mid-air at the top of the map so they have LoS on everything. Looks hilarious, but can totally get you killed.
There is a lot of combat and sometimes it does feel non-stop (like some point extraction missions), but there are also periods of 'quiet' where you explore the cave or pursue your mission objectives. Before long mission control will be warning you of incoming swarms, or you'll stumble onto something.
For those who don't get why people like this game for some reason here's the gist. Fun Combat, Dopamine drops when killing Glyphids Bleeding atmosphere Tons of unlocks Free Content updates Badass Music Completely destructible environment Kind Devs up to the point where they let a fan use their song in the trailer Oh and it's fun. Those usually make a horde shooter enjoyable. Not usually my kind of game but that but man easily one of my fav horde-shooters to date.
Whoever said 10 hours only did like 10 missions if that. That’s not even enough to promote one class and unlock all his weapons or even see all the biomes yet.
Been playing this game on and off for years. Honestly one of the most consistently great coop games ever. You can play as soft or hard as you want with the different hazard levels; from complete green-beard haz 1 to never stop shooting and watching your back greybeard haz 5. Add to that, the caves being new generations every dive, plethora of types of bugs you need to kill and survive, ammo and resource management, easy communication with pointers between teammates, and a cult community that is the most wholesome I've seen, you will thoroughly enjoy this game. Welcome to deep rock galactic green beard. Rock and stone
It's one of those games where fun also scales with difficulty. For example lower difficulties (Haz 2-3) are oriented towards players that probably don't enjoy combat that much and rather play the game because they just like to mine and explore the caves which are randomly generated, then higher difficulties (Haz 4-5) are more oriented towards players that just like to do the minimum required mining/exploration but are mostly there to enjoy the thrill of combat. Obviously the game has a progression system but not in the sense of "item level" bullshit or random weapon drop crap, but unlocking new weapons, weapon traits/passives, weapon overclocks (like a mod that you craft then put into a weapon that either just buffs up some of the stats or instead changes their functionality, each weapon have their own specific overclocks) and obviously the end game is the drip, just being the sexiest/manliest dwarf on space. One of the things people like about the game is the monetization, since the game just requires a one-time purchase to get access to everything, then there is "cosmetic DLCs" that are basically just "skin packs" (no content, its just either dwarf skins or weapon skins) at very affordable/reasonable prices and then it has probably the most consumer-friendly seasonal model, that is, a completely free season pass that requires no purchases at all, introduces new content of course and also new seasonal cosmetics that can be obtained more easily during their corresponding season and then after the season ends, some of the cosmetics are put into the cosmetic store (not real money but with money obtained through gameplay, there is no "premium currency bs" btw) or can be obtained randomly when playing, so not only a seasonal model that is completely free but also has no "limited time" BS fomo. Also there is no premium currency BS nor lootboxes, if you want to buy a cosmetic DLC for example, the pricetag for them is just in dollars and thats it.
As a 1000+hrs player i can say it doesnt get repetitive cuz there is always new dwarfs to play with, that and the random generation levels makes for an infinity of situations that can arise in diferent ways, fair warning, this game is full of bugs.
Depends on the player. After I learned all the variable parameters of the specific map types, everything seemed generic, predictable. But it was a fun game to play with friends, I hope Asmon will try it with Mcconnell.
@@Ordo1980 they revamped the map generation of several levels with the last season update, also if you are finding it to be repetitive you can download haz 6 mods and that kind of stuff.
The best 4 player coop game. The best devs. The best community. The best procedural generation. The best weapons balances. The best free cosmetics. The best optimization. The best install size.
This game gives me the same feeling i got when i first started playing minecraft as a kid, along with the feeling of speed, success, and reactivity of an fps game like cod or battlefield. Absolutely phenomenal.
It doesn't have many mission types, also overclocks (one of the most fun parts) only become available after playing the game for like 50 hours. It's an incredible and unbeliavably unique game though, so it's worth at least trying it out. Procedural generation, ability to change terrain, awesome enemy AI and much much more. I have over 1000h in the game and am still addicted
By the time you have 10 hours you experience almost every bit of content so that isn't true. I got over 700. The missions are just fun to do and having a small group to play with is enjoyable. No more repetitive than WoW though.
deep rock is a gem idk if its good for streams but if anyone saw the trailer and likes the look of it it has a super fun and welcoming community that is willing to show people the ropes and its just a good 4 player coop horde shooter its a good game to have in your rotation and every few months there are big updates so always new stuff to come back and check out
Honestly if you play Hazard 1 or 2, it's more boring than chaotic. Hazard 3 is basically normal difficulty and is manageable for most people with FPS experience.
I've played this game since they released open beta and its so fun. I was happy paying 20$ for the unfinished game and just playing that, I just really like exploring procedurally generated games. But every update has just added more content to play and you can tell they really care about this game and the community
Someone needs to tell Asmon the truth about the game 1) Combat depends ENTIRELY on the difficulty. Low means you can get almost nothing before completing your mission if you're not dicking around. High means almost non-stop so much so that it can be hard to get objectives done if the players aren't competent. 2) Content is repetitive, but is fine. I got over 700 hours. There are a good amount of mission types though so it isn't endlessly repetitive. Just repetitive by the time you got 50-60 hours. 3) Get a group. It is boring solo. McConnell and Esfand would be great.
Ive purchased this game 3 times, purchased all the dlc, and purchased the board game kickstarter coming out this December. The devs deserve every bit of it. I’m 450 hours in and still haven’t collected all the overclocks / cosmetics. It’s a game worth the $30 price tag.
2h 1-2 times a week eazy. The prime combat comes with elite dives, but it is not something one can simply jump into without some upgrades. last week was fun to watch as the 5.5 was also a magtera plague.
My buddys got me into DRG awhile back and I’ve been so into it that I’ve been recommending it to other folks. It’s a cheap game that provided amazing co-op, has an absolutely stellar community, tons of free cosmetics and load out options, no micro-transactions, a battle pass that doesn’t cost a penny, and the only paid content is skins that you buy straight from the steam store page to support the devs… and the skins are also reasonably priced and look cool asf, but the thing is the devs give you so much cool looking free content that you will never feel forced to buy a skin. You can make a white haired dwarf with a bejeweled beard and gilded armor just by playing the game. Not too mention the combat with all the weapons and overclocks is so fun, I love messing around with my load outs. And the reason I ride this games dick so hard is because I haven’t enjoyed playing co-op shooters with friends since I played L4D as a kid. This is genuinely the only game I’ve ever dropped money on for skins and it’s not because they forced me to buy “cool premium skins” by making me afraid that I would lose out, no the only reason I bought skins for this game is that I appreciate the devs so much for having such good work and business ethic. Unlike other studios they are constantly engaging with the community and listening to feedback, they shower us with free content and I want to encourage that and support them so they can produce even better content in the future. Anyways yea as you can tell I highly recommend this game, I’ll see you on Hoxxes miner… ROCK AND STONE! (Also I fucking love dwarves, half the fun of this game is being a chad dwarf with your homies)
"But how much combat is there really in there?" _Oh, my sweet summer Steeve._ * Gunner, lighting his cigar, and taking a deep slow drag * "It's ALL combat. Always has been."

I'm at 450h on Deep Rock Galactic, and i've loved every single second of it. Rock and Stone brothers. You definitely should try it out Asmon.
I have so much time on this game. Have everything but the current seasonal stuff! Spent too much time according to my co-workers! lol
Did I hear a rock and stone?
1300+ hours in. been playing since the first free trial when it dropped on steam
@@kelmirosue3251 ROCK AND STONE FOREVER!
0:55 “how much combat is there really?” Bruh, you gonna be fighting bugs around every corner. And karl help you if you run out of ammo.
A wow player being concerned about how much actual combat is in a game, that's topkek.
It's been a year and season 5 coming, will the Asmongod land his feet on the Hoxxes.
This game is the best. Bugs? YOU KILL THEM. A LOT OF THEM.
Yes, I'm being cheeky. Rock and stone!
ROCK..... AND...... STONE!
"ZERO microtransctions" okay now you're just lying, just look at the steam store page

This game is such a great breath of fresh air, and so damn enjoyable with friends. The community has so much love for the game and it shows what a small studio can do with love for their game.
I used to play this game with a group of friends, we eventually put plenty of hours in and moved on to other games, but it was definitely a fun time for sure
till the day you come back and see all the stuff they added. lol
Definitely return! So much new shit XD. I got the game in 2020, and when I returned I was like "the hell is all this shit!?"
@@kelmirosue3251 managment finally got us better equipment!
@@kelmirosue3251 yeah, stopped playing right before season one, and it's kinda wild coming back now.
Still waiting for asmon to play this game.
This is one of my all-time favorite games. It took me totally by surprise how good it was. The community is awesome as well!
Underrated co-op game with a very wholesome community
Been playing this game since quite a few years back and this is one of the best examples of an early access game delivering that I have ever seen. When asked why I still put faith in some early access I tell people about DRG.
ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS!
If you don't rock and stone, you ain't coming home !
ROCK! AND! STONE !!!
And remember the battlepass is free and if you miss out in any of the stuff in it you can still get it in the loot pool no fomo bs here 10/10
the person that sayd its 10 hours then it gets repetitive probably didn't finish the tutorial and stopped playing
"how much combat is there in this?"
me, out loud: "yes"
"10 hours and it feels repetitive" LOL... Not. the. case. at. all.
The game has a lot of content, specially if you just jumped in, so many patches, new weapons, armor, enemies, missions, etc. that have been added. With 10 hours you won't have all the primary weapons, let alone overclocks (which can change a weapon into doing something completly new... some overclocks are basically a new weapon).
Me who sunk in 400 hours "Its still not enough. Still got more stuff to unlock"
10 hours is NOT even knees deep into the game, they've not even hit deep dives nor overclocks. 300 hours in there's still so much to try.
It's been a year man...
DRG DEV here! I enjoy your content a lot, so I was stoked to see this video. Hope you'll check out the game someday.
Such a great game you guys, would love to see Asmon give it a go!
Playing solo Haz 2 is very different from playing three or four player on Haz 4+.
someone hasn't played haz 4 or 5
Then you're playing on level one or two my guy. Bump that shit up to three at LEAST. Then once you're comfortable bump it up to 4 then unlock level 5.
Yes start at 3 go 5 when u have some overclocks that you like its so much fun on harder difficulty… the swarms so many bugs
The amount of bugs scales to party size and hazard level.
So if you play solo at like haz 2, you're not going to get a lot of bugs. But a full party at haz 5 is going to be hauling ass nonstop while being chased by bugs.
The man who said 10 hours played in danger 1 100% lmaoo
Mcconnell and Asmon Playing this game could be amazing
mcconnells whining would be hilarious
I wish DRG had merch. Like beer mugs designed after the special daily brews.
Says nonstop 95% big dick combat is the best

Ikr? xD I really want him to play both MH and DRG.
DRG is a worth while play especially when you get to the end game of over clocks. Turning a particle beam into something that instead of melting enemies for instance, is one of many funny things you can do
"How much combat"
Ya know the tyranids?
Ya kinda like that
One of the best games i've played in recent years. Lots of action lots of class choices good content
DRG is literally perfect. it takes all the mechanics that company use to squeeze as much money and time out of players and possible, but makes all those systems free and easy to use. it’s satisfying unlocking things on the season pass (which is essentially a free battle pass). i just bought this game last week with my friends and we cannot stop playing it
Its a lot more than 10 hours
I like DRG but the enemy variety is very lacking so the combat gets boring somewhat quick, and the mission types are to similar so it feels like you're just cycling through 3 types of modes over and over again
I discovered this game 1 week ago and man, What can I say, I love it so much.
After play broken games from big companies that don't f care about the game and just try to take all the money they can from u, feels good play a game made with some passion and love xD
Btw I'm in Australia playing with my friends in South America, 0 issues, I can't believe how good this game works.
In particular, the things that stand out to me:
- Map generation is great.
ROCK AND STONE BRODA
There is a lot of combat and sometimes it does feel non-stop (like some point extraction missions), but there are also periods of 'quiet' where you explore the cave or pursue your mission objectives. Before long mission control will be warning you of incoming swarms, or you'll stumble onto something.
It's pretty fun.
Tried it, had fun, it's repetitive, but still fun.
The community is pretty helpful too.
For those who don't get why people like this game for some reason here's the gist.
Fun Combat,
Dopamine drops when killing Glyphids
Bleeding atmosphere
Tons of unlocks
Free Content updates
Badass Music
Completely destructible environment
Kind Devs up to the point where they let a fan use their song in the trailer
Oh and it's fun.
Those usually make a horde shooter enjoyable.
Not usually my kind of game but that
but man easily one of my fav horde-shooters to date.
Im 80 hrs in on deep rock and its still super fun
im 300 hrs in and it is still super fun
500 hours, probably will have over 1000 eventually. Still played only as engineer.
750 hours in. The true end-game is fashion. It would be fun to watch Asmon do a transmog comp with a mod that allows more than 4 players in a lobby.
1000 hours in, game still kicks ass.
700 hours ROCK AND STONE
Whoever said 10 hours only did like 10 missions if that. That’s not even enough to promote one class and unlock all his weapons or even see all the biomes yet.
Fr you cant unlock very much in 10 hours and stuff like overclockes is where it really kicks off
Been playing this game on and off for years.
Karl would approve! Play it!
I've been playing DRG for years and still play it to this day. Endless replay value.
DRG is one of my favorite games of all time, 500+ hours in it with friends, it's a blast. I still see caves that amaze me, this game never gets old.
Exactly
this game is fun as hell, had it since july and it's easily one of my favorite games of all time now. the ost is also wonderful
the 10h dude did not even scratch the surface
Very fun CO-OP game, can be chill or if you want, very action packed indeed
Bugs as in the actual bugs people, the game runs perfect lol.
I can't believe he still hasn't tried this. The Sseth review reminded me of it, started playing last week and I can't put it down.
This game is amazing! Asmon should totally play it with 3 other friends. It would be a blast for everybody.
Oh Lord, I forsee lots of C4 accidents

The best community.
The best procedural generation.

ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS!!!!
This game gives me the same feeling i got when i first started playing minecraft as a kid, along with the feeling of speed, success, and reactivity of an fps game like cod or battlefield. Absolutely phenomenal.
Rock and stone brother!
Been playing DRG since the space station was completely empty. So happy it is getting more coverage. It deserves it.
I love this game me and my dad plays a lot of the game it's cool because the developers still update the game with stuff to do! 🗿
Play it with McConnell please!! This game is so much fun!
Also I want to see the shenangians Connell pulls you into 😆
May more content than 10 hours, best coop game ever. Rock and Stone.
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
By the time you have 10 hours you experience almost every bit of content so that isn't true. I got over 700. The missions are just fun to do and having a small group to play with is enjoyable.
No more repetitive than WoW though.
deep rock is a gem idk if its good for streams but if anyone saw the trailer and likes the look of it it has a super fun and welcoming community that is willing to show people the ropes and its just a good 4 player coop horde shooter its a good game to have in your rotation and every few months there are big updates so always new stuff to come back and check out
It's great, but it's definitely a bit too much chaotic for me to handle haha :D
I played most of it as a group of 2 and loved it best when it was that way
Embrace the chaos. Git good and overcome it. Haz5 only brothers.
DRG is one of the best games i've EVER played. Absolute masterpiece
Someone needs to tell Asmon the truth about the game
1) Combat depends ENTIRELY on the difficulty.
Deep rock is solid!! One of the best dev teams in the business on my opinion and just dang good fun for a good price
Coffee stain has their hands on it, everything they touch is good. Satisfactory, DRG, valheim, even goat simulator was good lol.
Ive purchased this game 3 times, purchased all the dlc, and purchased the board game kickstarter coming out this December. The devs deserve every bit of it.
I’m 450 hours in and still haven’t collected all the overclocks / cosmetics.
It’s a game worth the $30 price tag.
CAN I GET A ROCK AND STONE???
The fact that they used a fan song for the trailer is nice
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
2h 1-2 times a week eazy.
The prime combat comes with elite dives, but it is not something one can simply jump into without some upgrades.
last week was fun to watch as the 5.5 was also a magtera plague.
This is so weird, I just got back into watching asmon's videos and recently started playing drg agian. The stars are aligning.
1:10 it's not an official song, it's a fan one, they even credit it at the start.
but still shows that the devs care about the fans
Incredible game for solo and co-op. Backed by fantastic devs.
ROCK AND STONE!
I got into this game a few weeks ago and it easily one of the best coop shooters I have played. It really does deserve more attention
