This was a good flip of characters. Sad in a way because Sam was finally home but couldn't stay home due to al being stuck in the past. But this one, the boogyman, the trilogy episodes, the evil leaper episodes, and Lee Harvey Oswald are most memorable episodes
Add the Vietnam one as well as it showed Al's loyalty to Sam. He could've had Sam save Al from the VC, but Al never mentioned it to Sam so he could save his brother and the rest of his platoon
The lee Harvey episode was awesome how he only went back to save the first lady because In their universe she died the first time awesome script for that one
@@jujubee1290 No one is God. There must be an equal trade off. If someone is saved, then someone must take their place to die to keep the timeline flowing intact. This is one of the episodes that proves it was Sam’s body leaping, he was still wearing clothes from the last leap and most importantly, Al still has the hand link.
Yeah I saw a video going over that and this episode is held up as key evidence that Leaping involves Sam physically leaping, with an image of who he's leaping into overlaid on him. For as you pointed out, the evidence is clear; Al has the handlink with him, Sam is still wearing the clothes from his last leap, he still has burn marks from the electric shock and when Al returns to the project, he still has the concussion he picked up in this time period. None of which would make any sense unless they were physically leaping. Plus of course the numerous times Sam does things he shouldn't have been able to do if he was only mentally leaping. See as a blind man, swim and beat up guards as a chimp and of course, stand up and walk as a double amputee.
@@JamesTobiasStewart There would have been an interesting discussing about at the asylum about how the electro shock caused a man's clothing to completely change. The man Sam leaped out of would have leaped in with Sam's jumpsuit from the future.
Good point. In the opening of the episodes they always say Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator...and vanished. So if he vanished his body wouldn't be in the room.
The host body would be in the future [the waiting room] as seen in many episodes. Some episodes heavily relied on information from the host, as Ziggy had limited or no data for one reason or another. [See Dr Ruth episode, Lee Harvey Oswsld, Killing Time.... the rape victim was brought with Al into the imaging chamber to help Sam testify on her behalf [as her].
And you're right, these effects were more complex to put together and more effective as a final result. The new ones just hoped fro flashy lights to put up enough of a show to distract the audience.
They made a big mistake in this episode, when Sam leaps into Al at the end to save him he does and eventually leaps out. But the hand link that Al leaped in with at the beginning of the episode was left behind in the past. It was never explained what happened to it or if someone found it. What they should have done was included the hand link in a package along with the letter Al wrote to mail into the future which got them to open the imagining chamber door for Sam. This way the hand link would have made it back to the project but once it got there it would have been decades old. I think that was a big gaffe by the writers to just ignore the hand link and presumably it was left on the ground someplace. It didn't work because it wasn't connected to Ziggy in the past but the technology inside was still from the future and could change history if the wrong person found it.
Maybe that’s how the evil leapers developed the project to undo all the good that Sam Beckett had done according to fandom the evil leapers it’s believed that they have been around a lot longer than Sam, Beckett, and Al Calici, and the rest of the people involved in project quantum Leap, so here’s a theorymaybe somebody found it who was eventually part of the evil leap project and that’s how that project was be able to be developed.
This is the first time I saw Al leap with Sam. 0:10 I didn't see this episode but i did see the one when Sam looked as though he had multiple personalities.
It's good, but it seems like they got rid of the "waiting room" and haven't explained how that works. When Ben leaps, nobody replaces him in the present.
He was wearing patient clothes because he had just leaper out of being a mental hospital .in the episode there's a storm lighting strikes them as Al is trying to get him out of getting electro shock therapy again .
@@dfangirl72 You didn't answer the question about whether or not the patient was wearing Sam's clothes. When Sam trades places with someone, they appear in the Waiting Room, and they're wearing his leap suit, while he's in their time, wearing their clothes.
@@Scorch1028 The lightning strike caused a unique leap and presumably since Sam leaped with the patient clothes, the mental patient must have leaped with Sam's jumpsuit which would have baffled the doctors in the room as they watched the clothing change to the futuristic outfit.
The wackiest thing is that the unique circumstances of this leap caused Sam to leap with the clothing he was wearing and Al leaped with the handlink. This also means the leapee in the waiting room would have leaped with Sam's futuristic jumpsuit so when the nurse administered the electroshock, she and the others in the room would have witnessed the patient's clothing magically change to that jumpsuit.
