Once the heel bands of the spurs are shaped it is time to hand cut the silver pieces that will be mounted onto the sides of the spurs on this pair of spurs it has three brands on the inside and three on the outside totaling 12 brands that have to be hand cut and solder onto the spurs.
If you would rather use new steel a good choice will be an aircraft alloy called 4130 and one resource for this type metal is Aircraft Spruce.
