I really enjoyed hearing about how your creativity shows up in storytelling and character development in D&D as you spun up a mesmerising yarn. I'm in awe of the huge commitment D&D is!
I'm brand new to your channel (shoutout Flannel & Purls) so I decided to randomly sample a few of your videos to figure out your vibe, and I clicked this one SO FAST. D&D has my whole entire heart, honestly.
Your description of Warlocks had me absolutely dying!!.... and also realizing that it's one of the major reasons I enjoy playing them! I love hearing about your characters and adventures and love watching you spin. Your videos are a highlight in my day whenever they come out, so thank you for blessing us with wool knowledge and campaign lore!
They are just guys! Just normal people making bad choices and getting magic out of it and I know some people give them a bad rap so I'm happy to see another warlock lover out and about. Do you have a favorite subclass? I'm partial to hex blade.
@@stitchesandstarlight Hex blades are absolute beasts in combat! I’m partial to Pact of the Chain bc familiars, am I right? My absolute favorite warlock character, Xendara, was in our Pathfinder campaign. She was a Changeling Witch, which in Pathfinder was literally a child of a Hag, so she had cool abilities based on what her mother was (Annis Hag). We eventually converted to 5e and I went with the Archfey patron with Xendara’s mother being her patron. Her entire mission was to venture out and take out threats…. AKA other hags. Being a warlock isn’t super conducive to hunting down creatures with natural magic resistance, so Xendara needed a team to help her out. The campaign was so much fun and we kind of ended on a cliffhanger, but I’m okay with that. If you really want to go wild with dnd and have a large pool of players, look into the West Marches style of play. Matt Colville has a video on it here on YT. We’ve being playing in this style for 2.5 years now and really enjoy it!
Beautiful crown :D (Yes I'm still catching up) I laughed at "do I need to make the monsters harder" because I found out just this week that our gm is actually consistently throwing us enemies above our pay grade because our team is much better at surviving said encounters than it should be lol (despite only one character being Designed With Efficiency In Mind)
Ok, I have wanted to play DnD for years. Finally got to play in 2019, but our sessions were so far apart that I always felt like I was starting fresh each time. It just wasn't clicking for me, but your description/explanation of DnD really clicked for me. Thanks,
I didn't;t understand it until I started watching actual plays but it's just story telling with your friends and dice to make it chaotic and it brings me the most joy. D&D feels very much like summer camp - you show up to your table with strangers and you have best friends by the time the game is over.
I'm dipping my toes into actual play and last night I was listening to the prologue of Worlds Without Measure and Brennan Lee Mulligan made me cry hysterically. So I would also do terrible things for him
lol. I love playing clerics but I think that’s because I’m fascinated by cults and also funereal traditions in various cultures. I lean toward clerics of various gods of death.
I love a death god - my paladin is in service to the Raven Queen! Something about thinking about what comes next is just really interesting and makes for good storytelling.
I feel like Critical Role is one of those things that I missed the boat on--something I'd probably like? but it's so established that trying to catch up would take a ridiculous amount of time. Unless it has multiple entry points similar to something like Discworld..
The seasons are all separate stories so you can jump in on either one - I didn't watch 1 and I am watching 2 and 3 simultaneously and while I am technically "behind", I watch it at my own pace and avoid spoilers when I can. D20 has much shorter seasons and shorter episodes if you're looking to get into actual plays.
Love your dice vault! Actually, I just love everything about this episode. Hearing about your characters and their life progression and seeing your journals...so good! Thank you for sharing. And watching you spin is hypnotic. I started spinning last winter after watching you spin. I'm looking forward to picking it up after a long break this summer and fall. My goal is to actually make something with my handspun this year. Maybe a hat? 🥰
I’m so happy to hear that you’ve started spinning! I hope it’s bringing you a lot of joy as you learn and explore. A hat is a great place to start when knitting with handspun, it takes lower yardage to get going and gauge and consistency don’t matter as much as with a garment.
I am a pastel, superwash, non-spinner girlie, but I am HERE for a fellow knitting and D&D nerd. My partner doesn't judge my yarn hoard in part bc I say nothing about his minis... and we are both 100% dice goblins. 😅
Dice goblins unite! Also, I am just so happy you're here for a nonSWM, anti pastel, fiber goblin like me. It just reminds me that our commonalities are stronger than the things we perceive as our differences.
hahahaha, yes. 100% this - I think intrusive thoughts are my biggest strength - the little devil on my shoulder is very loud during my games and leads to chaos every single time.
I'm here for the fiber and dnd crossover content 🙌 i play with my family, but i'd really love to find another table to join. How have you found multiple groups?
I joined discord servers for D&D in my area and then reached out to DMs when they were putting together their games and that's how I got lucky. I am very fortunate to have made the friends I did through ttrpgs.
I play a neurodivergent Artificer in my Spelljammer game! It is so much fun. She’s a little pink tiefling with a robot buddy and awkward as hell 😂 I hope you have fun!
How many dice sets do you have in your collection? I love looking at the unique dice sold at Pax Unplugged a board game convention in Philadelphia PA in December. I had a blast checking out the new games yet to be published and demo games to see if I wanted to buy them.
I don't know and it is practically impossible to count as they're in little dice trays everywhere - somewhere between 22 and 35 feels like a safe estimate.
"I will do terrible things for Brennan." We are in 100% agreement. I am ride or die for him and Aabria. The two of them say the hardest shit out of nowhere that blows my mind. "What is the one lie this world believes?" Aabria, what?? Calamity is only four episodes, but it is four episodes that will wreck your whole life. I was fundamentally changed as a person after that story. 😂 A sentient tarot deck as a warlock patron is so effing dope! I love that. Your characters are so cool. God, I adore d&d, but I have no friends that play. How have you found your groups?
I joined Facebook groups and discord servers for D&D in my area and then reached out to DMs when they were putting together their games and that's how I got lucky. I would just pop in daily to see if any new listings appeared and when I found my gems, quietly left. Wishing you happy hunting!
I enjoyed that very much! Nostalgia for the girl I was 20 plus years ago that gave up that kind of gaming life in favor of having children…but they’re grown now 🤔 so … anyway, so much fun!
I brought my oldest as a baby to sessions and continued playing while in the military. Stopped playing after I got out, life just got too busy with three toddlers and family time I missed out on.
I base it on the ply back test and by feel - if it feels too over spun and rope like, I drop it down a ratio. If the fiber is drifting apart, I raise it to add more twist.
Animal Crossing also got ME through Covid! Which makes it all the more shameful that I haven't visited my island in MONTHS... >_< But fully here for an island tour if you post one!
I actually powered it back up this morning and I'm running around catching butterflies and making waterfalls and having a great old time. An island tour might happen!
Pretending to be in a relationship with your best friend is cute! In our Pathfinder game my husband's character is like the grosest womanizer who tries to get my character to like him. I just have so much fun pretending I'm grossed out by my husband 😂

WBN is my favorite actual play and the audio mixing on it is so good. If that’s where you’re starting, you’re going to be SPOILED when it’s over.
So interesting. One day i want to play.

Thanks for being here!
hooray!!! d&d!!!
Dnd, where intrusive thoughts win, lol. Makes for some great combat and role-playing though.

We have to talk about this further and swap stories! I love this so much.
Love the DND episode!
I would love an Animal Crossing island tour! Love the TTRPG nerdiness :) have you ever played any TTRPGs besides DnD?
I am prepping to play Candela Obscura and I've played a Cthulu one shot but I'm mainly a 5e nerd through and through.
