I didn’t like how evasive the first mare’s owner was when you asked about soundness. Glad you didn’t get that mare, she also was obviously stiff in her hind end and had a weak top line. The bay roan you brought home was definitely a higher quality for your needs. Congratulations
I too thought the first mare was weak behind and the lack of muscling in her rump said it all. The second mare has a perfect QH conformation. Nice temperament and wide and well muscled. Good luck with the breeding and the riding!
LOL while watching this video I was sitting here saying, ... "no JR, don't bid, ....let her go, there are better QH out there". (that was referring to the first mare you bid on). But this one that that you bought is beautiful! I think you will be happy with her. Congratulations!!! I think your plans to diversify are solid and sound. I'm routing for you all! (Here's a secret, .....I once won a driving Championship with a little black QH mare that I raised from a weanling and trained myself. We won the Blue in Working Driving, ...Pleasure Driving, ...and Obstacle Course Driving. It was on Open Show in Connecticut, centuries ago. Her name was Forest Cabin Sassy. Now all I have left are my memories and the loving joy of watching your family adventures and your horses.) I have owned, ...Appaloosa's, Quarter Horses, Morgans, a Grade, a Pony, Missouri Fox Trotter, Arabian, and a Mule. I loved ❤ something about each and every breed! Holly Bear, my mule was smart as a whip and a hoot! Sigh, ... now my mode of transportation is a walker and a wheel chair. BUT, ...I have the joy of sharing in your videos! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Love your new mare, .....what is her name? God Bless. ACD
Wheelchair user here now too but used to have horses and ride them so I get my enjoyment now from this channel. I was gifted from a family member breeder a very beautiful Appaloosa gelding as a 2 year old, sired (sperm brought over to Australia) by a Champion Appaloosa called Cherokee Chief. Unfortunately I never got to show him as very soon after that, when he was 3 I became disabled so was hardly able to ride (so only bringing him out of pasture to train/ride once or twice a month, I sent him to a very gentle professional to break in). I still had him when I ended up having him put down when he was 5 or 6 years due to skin cancer which he got on the underside of his sheath which spread after a couple of vets misdiagnosed open skin cancer sores there as having allergies to insects. Two different vets misdiagnosed the issue making me think I was being over paranoid (I thought it was cancer from the start after I'd ruled out that he'd just injured himself a little, I never saw insects bothering him at all). It took a year before he got the correct diagnoses from a vet when problem was worst, then a couple of surgeries failed to get rid of the cancer. It was heart breaking.
I am in Australia too. My back is too bad to ride. Are either of you into photography? I use it to try to capture exactly what it is about horses that I like. Their form, their personalities. I hope you can still be around horses.
Congrats on your BEAUTIFUL new horse! She's stunning. Love her shiny dark copper color, frosted rump, and black mane. Just wow. Yes, definitely want to see more videos of her!
Great buy...beautiful mare! I really like quarter horse conformation...broad chest & big rump, plus a sweet personality! And to fit right into the herd...she was custom made for your farm & breeding program! Excellent job JR & Emori! God bless.....
Goodness, she is nice! Love how she's built, esp from the front. And what a great nature. Turning a new horse out in a big field and she's already coming up for her loves. And she can calmly handle herself with the other horses. I like that. Sure we didn't see her chased round showing all her moves but so far, I reckon you got a fantastic mare.
Thank you for showing us how some people think they can dupe someone.. Glad you see you bought yourselves a gorgeous mare!! Also glad to see she made a friend.. The fact that that first horses owner didn't want to be on camera says alot!! She didn't answer all your questions..
So exciting to see your new mare. She looks a much nicer girl than the other one so all worked out well, and I'm sure she'll be worth the extra you paid for her.
What an excellent horse! She is beautiful. Out of the two, it was a blessing that you waited and didn’t give in to the first sellers price. When you asked the seller if she was sound she seemed to dance around your question. She went right into what a good girl she was, really avoiding saying anything about soundness. You ended up with the best of the two. She and Oliver are going to make beautiful babies 😍😍😍😍
@@caciliawhy5195Exactly she kept changing her answers. I would have been like nope. Too wishy washy for me and why not be honest. Her daughter wanted a faster horse aka younger horse and her mare could have soundness issues. She's not worth $3,500. He offered what he thought was a fair price for her condition and was turned down. They got a much better horse for a little bit more money but worth it.
She’s absolutely beautiful. I must be honest and say I REALLY didn’t like how hard he was pulling to get her to back up at 15:35. It was completely uncalled for. She had her mouth open because of the pressure he was causing. I can see in an emergency or serious situation using force like that to keep her or her rider safe, however, in an auction (which is stressful enough) yielding that force was wrong. Again, that’s my opinion. Moving on - she’s so pretty and I cannot wait to see her bloom under y’all’s love and care. She and Oliver will make gorgeous babies!!!
I agree with this and I just came to say the same thing, it's disgusting the way he is yanking on her she is clearly uncomfortable I hope he wasn't using an aggressive bit as well..
Oh she's so pretty!! So nice how the other mares and foals accepted her so readily. No drama. I like your new plan for the homestead. Oliver sure has brought a lot of changes to your homestead. How exciting!!❤😊
She’s BEAUTIFUL and more substantial than the first. I love the balance in her walk - almost like a ballet dancer, light on her “toes.” She will blossom with some TLC. Congrats’
She Is a very sweet mare with such a passive personality. She is beautiful and wow what a quarter horse rump. Can't wait to see a baby out of her with Oliver
All the other horses seem to be excepting the new horse, that’s so sweet, she is a lovely horse, I’m glad that she has a best buddy already to show her around. I wish her luck 💕💕💕💕, thank you xxxxx
Quarter horses are my personal favorite. I love everything about them, the way they move, the way they think and compatibility. Good luck, I hope you find the same. ❤️
Aw she is wonderfull! and you can see her thinking how did i got from that rude auction in this heavenly place ??? 😊 i am so happy for her. Thank you. 🤗
You have BEAUTIFUL HORSES. I'll be spending more time here to see how you are doing, especially to see how well this lovely new mare works out. You got a GREAT DEAL!
Love that JR checked under the hood of the new horse...her name?....Boots got his drink from the middle of the creek because he didn't want any other horse's backwash 😆 🐴❤
She is a beautiful and adorable girl. She bonded with rest of the herd so quickly. She will foal beautiful babies with Oliver. Your grounds are spectacular and so peaceful. I wish l could live in a place like this and spend my days with horses. Always enjoy watching your videos. Hope to see more soon. Good luck to you people. Love you all❤
Oh wow guys she is beautiful, lovely build stunning colour, I have never seen a new horse just introduced to a new herd settle in so quickly, just goes to show JR that it was meant to be, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Woo, woo, way to go JR and family! Quarter horses (AQHA) are the best and Hancock breeding is very desirable. She gorgeous, her conformation is the old style Quarter horse. Looks like she's making herself right at home and the herd's accepting her well. Look forward to seeing more of her. :o)
Congratulations on your winning bid on this gorgeous mare! She is a fantastic addition to your herd. I'm glad the introduction went so well. Looking forward to learning her name - will you choose your own?
I can't wait to see a foal from her. The temperament of a foal that has her for a mother and Oliver for a father should be the sweetest horse. I am glad JR can ride her. Was the other one big enough for JR to ride? Can't wait to hear about JR learning a new skill.
She's got some Hancock breeding, great cow horses but a little "bucky", LOL, but boy is she calm and sweet. And a great looking little mare. I love her!
She is calm, brave and stalwart - headed in with ears up, a non threatening but firm stance and greeted them as she could. Pecking order squabbles were pretty calm and she held her own without challenging. Great mare who is an asset to the herd and for your heart. Congratulations
You did better with this beautiful girl!!! I love her coloring and she seem so friendly and sweet!!! I can't wait to see more videos of her. Congratulations!!!!
She is definitely a pretty girl & seems to be quite sweet natured, I think you might have gotten lucky at the auction! So many times that does not end up being the case unfortunately!
Congratulations on your new quarter horse mare. She's beautiful. Now I'm sure you are happy you didn't get the one you originally wanted. It was providence, God doesn't always give us what we want, but what we need. Glad she is such a nice fit for your herd also. Can't wait to see what Oliver thinks of her.
She is a beautiful horse - her colours and how she stands and her proportion all are very pleasing - but being welcomed into the herd so quickly when that doesn't happen - that's such a good sign 😊
I'm so glad you got the horse you did! She's so pretty. When you were looking at the first one I was thinking to myself, "What in the world is he thinking? She's not nearly good enough for them!" 😄 Can't wait to learn the new lady's name! 😊❤️🧡💕
I used to love going to auctions with my family, often we didn't buy anything, just enjoyed the fellowship. The best horse I ever owned, I think, was an auction horse my Dad brought me. He was a very dark wine-colored bay with golden dapples in the sun. He was naturally gaited too, and we're pretty sure he was proud-cut--very stud-ly behavior. But he was a handful for sure, and an escape artist. His conformation (that gorgeous crest, level back, refined face) led us to believe he was Morgan or Morgan cross. Later that year, my Mom bought me a beautiful black saddle and bridle set, all decked out in silver, for Christmas. Shortly before Christmas, though, Gus disappeared. I mean, straight up vanished. No gates open, no fences down, nothing, he was just gone. We searched everywhere. Dad put ads in the paper and offered a reward, but a month later we finally gave up, thinking surely someone must have caught him and taken him home with them. Mom took the saddle back. Later that spring, Dad was driving home from work one evening, and happened to glance over into a neighbor's property that backed onto the highway, and there was Gus, grazing amongst the guy's cattle. Dad went to the guy, who said he had no idea Gus was back there, it was a few miles from his house, so we do believe him. Anyway, he escaped a couple more times, and we understood why such a wonderful, beautiful horse was in that auction--nobody could keep him contained. I'm so glad you found the right mare, though, and she's so gentle and sweet, I don't think you'll have those kinds of problems with her. I still miss Gus, though, he sure was a looker!
What a stunner. It’s beautiful to see how calmly she met the herd & how they all reacted - she will fit in so well. A beautiful girl - good things come to those who wait! Even better than the previous mare. Thank you for sharing & for caring for these beautiful animals - greetings from S Australia
Wow what a beautiful mare, and what a calm introduction to the herd. Great that Ozark teamed up with her immediately, that will make her feel right at home. I’ll bet Oliver falls head over heels in love with her 😊❤. Your breeding program will be so exciting.
Bless Ozarks heart befriending your new gorgeous mare. I cant help believing that Ozarks personality is the work of amazing Becca. Is was precious watching Ozark and Becca interact with each other. Its very heart-warming seeing all of you love and care for all your horses. Wish they could all be yours,🎉🎉😊😊❤❤
They are both beautiful but i think not getting the first one was a blessing in disguise. Thanks for the lesson on auction check list that was so helpful!!
I am so glad you got horse #2. I certainly didn’t like how the guy in the arena was jerking on her when he was trying to make her back up! How mean! Poor thing.
He certainly didn't properly know how to do it. He didn't even need to use the ends of the reins to encourage her to move, either. She's a willing to please horse with a lovely temperament. And she's just absolutely gorgeous. She's a steal for $2,000.
Gorgeous color and wonderful temperament!! Great pick outa the 2 red roan mares!! Well done sir!! 👏👍 I’m sure Becka was thrilled that the new horse buddied up with her horse Ozark! Now Becka n her friend will be able to go on trail rides together again! How exciting! Sumthin to look forward to!! Christmas 🎄 money well spent!! 🙏❤️😇🤞Can’t wait for Oliver to meet the newest member of ur family! I’m sure he’ll love 💕 her!!😊 What will you name her??
I loved everything about this video---I so enjoy it when you film at auctions. It's a part of the world I've never ventured into, so it's great to see how it's done. Your newest herd member is an absolute GLORY. Congrats!! (I think the first roan horse was nice, but the lady JR talked to really revealed that her heart wasn't into selling her! And that's what played out. She couldn't let her go yet)
I was really uncomfortable with the body language... that hand on thigh rubbing, and the leg stretching in and out. Red flags all 'round. Something wasn't right.
The second mare is a much better horse, in my opinion. The first one was thin, no mention of possible dental work and, at 17, she's getting close to not being able to conceive if she hasn't had a foal for a while...
I didn’t like how evasive the first mare’s owner was when you asked about soundness. Glad you didn’t get that mare, she also was obviously stiff in her hind end and had a weak top line. The bay roan you brought home was definitely a higher quality for your needs. Congratulations

Wheel chair, damn... Time for a Miniature, maybe? Or several? Then you can still play the game!

Not many people there at the auction
Name her Grace or Gracie since she went in so graceful and peaceably.
So beautiful how Ozark just adopted her like that
Congrats on your BEAUTIFUL new horse! She's stunning. Love her shiny dark copper color, frosted rump, and black mane. Just wow. Yes, definitely want to see more videos of her!
A😅o 😅😅
Her coloring is exquisite! She almost has a burgundy look to her!
I'd say she looks like mahogany
And there is the reason the first horse fell through. This was an incredible find and bargain. She is stunning.
She is strikingly beautiful. That mane is gorgeous but most beautiful is her temperament. Great Christmas gift for all.
She is stunning! I love the meet and greet with the herd, so sweet ❤

Your new mare is absolutely gorgeous, Oliver and her are going to have an amazing foal in time.
2009
She radiates such a lovely, sweet spirit. It's amazing. I can pick it up through the video. Her quick acceptance by the herd testifies.
Awwwwllll Ozark and the new girl are just so so cute lol!
She’s beautiful and I agree she was the top pick out of the 2. Looking forward to following her journey.
Awww.
Just love the initial gentle warm welcome and instant friendship.
She is going to be absolutely stunning when she sheds out next spring!
What a pretty mare! I love that she found a good friend already.
She's definitely a beauty, what an interesting color ❤ I love how she and Ozark bonded right off the bat, so sweet ❤
Everyone else is saying it, she is a stunner. That is a horse that will make a person want a horse!
So exciting to see your new mare. She looks a much nicer girl than the other one so all worked out well, and I'm sure she'll be worth the extra you paid for her.

I think she's alot prettier than the first one. Good job
There mustn't be a four footed rabbit for miles around your farm. What a lucky find she's beautiful congratulations. 🎉
She’s beautiful! And a confident horse to be able to fit right into a herd so easily.

Christmas 🎄 money well spent!! 🙏❤️😇🤞Can’t wait for Oliver to meet the newest member of ur family! I’m sure he’ll love 💕 her!!😊 What will you name her??
Nice to see you have your seatbelt on ❤
I loved everything about this video---I so enjoy it when you film at auctions.
I found her body language saying "deception". I took an instant dislike to her.
The second mare is a much better horse, in my opinion. The first one was thin, no mention of possible dental work and, at 17, she's getting close to not being able to conceive if she hasn't had a foal for a while...
Congrats on the new mare! She is lovely
Gorgeous horses one an all. She's a pretty mare for Oliver. So nice she gets along. Awesome
