    Do modern inverters have built in controller or set points to control their power factor?

    • @schneiderelectric
      @schneiderelectric  3 года назад +1

      Hi Niazi, thank you for reaching out!
      A built-in controller inside each inverter would probably not be the most appropriate solution, as usually one installation contains several photovoltaic inverters.
      As we see it, it's better to have a control system (transverse to the complete installation) which gets measures from the different photovoltaic inverters, and gets the value of the power factor at site level (at the point of common coupling).
      Based on this data, this control system determines and communicates the optimal set point to each of the photovoltaic inverters.

    What about power quality and power factor when the excess amount is exported to grid? I mean in Mains revenue meter what will be the PF ( inductive /capacitive) at the time of export?

      Kindly confirm that will capacitor bank panel also work along this control system? because it will be better to get more KVAR from capacitor bank either from the inverter.

    Kindly confirm that will capacitor bank panel also work along this control system? because it will be better to get more KVAR from capacitor bank either from the inverter. Like if we have 150 KVAR Load along with 10KVAR fluctuating KVAR. We set the setting like 120 kVAR should be adjusted by capacitor bank panel and remaining divide it on inverter and grid line w.r.t real load.

      Hi Sohail, thank you very much for your patience! - The solution we describe in the video is suitable only to compensate the power factor impact of the PV system. When it is necessary to compensate the reactive power of the loads, capacitor banks are the suitable solution. And if the reactive consumption of the loads is highly fluctuating as you describe, automatic or dynamic compensation will be recommended. For more information:

    Dear Madam as per your solution there is loss for installation and investor company in solar PV plant .
    I have one more solution , as we know that we are using APFC Controller for supplying reactive var but due to reason because APFC get sum of solar and grid that's why not able to measured only grid .
    If we Install CT of APFC panel In main incomer of grid line and then operate Capacitor duty contactor though it then you will be able to supply Var for reactive power demand . in this way you will utilise full solar power for active power .
    because if we supply reactive power from inverter then there is decreasement in active power of inverter which is finally a loss of inverter power

    • @akshay3348
      @akshay3348 4 года назад

      Ranjit your solution is partially correct, what if only solar produced kWh are being utilised by the industry for certain time of day? As your sensing is of Mains, the APFC will remain there as mere statue.

      Hello Ranjit! You are right, dedicated PF equipment to correct PF loss is a good alternative solution.
