We met Arlen at JJ and had no idea who he was at the time. He was a great person to share trail stories with. We are new fans!
Legend in the making. Stay true to you Arlen!
It's interesting to hear Arlen was injured at Jackpot. I watched him all day and actually mentioned something about his gait being uneven, and was told "That's pretty much how he runs"... I wonder if his injury indeed affected his stride.
He said in another interview that his injury did effect his stride.
Arlen is The Best!
Ultra Person of The Year
Sadly, Arlen is underestimated and overlooked by many. It’s crazy.
Arlen fan here 😀🏃♂️🏃♂️
Me too
Yay Arlen!
Can't wait to see how his race unfolds...I'm rooting for him
Respect Arlen on his social media stance. Maybe there's some middle ground for him (blogs/interviews/etc.) to spread his positive message/inspire/etc.
I agree..I think he has valid points about twitter, instagram, tik tok, etc. But I think blogging would be a really positive/sustainable medium. Same with RUclips.
Agreed! Glick is the man East of the Mississippi , period. If you sleep on him in a mountain race, the field will pay! This guy is legit! Say his Name!
Javelina :) Excellent discussion!
Thanks! I really appreciated how deep he was willing to go on various topics. I'm a fan
Re Ohio: ever run Burning River? 😁
I'm not sure..I'd have to go check his ultrasignup
@@runsingletrack wasnt necessarily talking about Arlen running BR. Was making the point there is plenty of single track very hilly terrain in Ohio.
@@marlinweekley51 right on..and I agree! with respect to the "can you train for this stuff in Ohio?" question, I was trying to frame it in a way so Arlen could dispel (if he wanted to) any concerns from fans
@@runsingletrack i live in Illinois where everyone thinks the world is flat and thats true compared to the big mountains. I run pikes peak every year and nothing more exciting that RRR in the GC. But here in illinois we have (like most states east of the Mississippi) a tuff race probably few have heard of. Cry Me A River 100 has 23,500’ of elevation gain - 50% more than Leadville although not at altitude. Really enjoy your interviews and discussions, i always learn a lot. Thanks 👍🏃♂️🏃♂️
In case @Singletrack Podcast did not look it up…
Burning River course record

Elevation Gain = approx. 8000 ft/100M. Pretty good for “flat” Ohio.
